Honda introduced the CBR 250 back in 2011 for the Indian Two Wheeler market. Since then it has been ruling the segment. After the overwhelming response on the CBR 250, Honda planned to make this bike more affordable since the 250 was very expensive back then. They bought CBR 150cc which looked identical to CBR250. For the past 4-5 years there was a considerable growth in sales of high cc segment motorcycles where CBR650 was launched somehow on the sales part the motorcycle couldn’t perform well as it was an expensive affair to maintain the motorcycle and availability of spares was an issue. But surely Honda has reworked on this and we see many premium products from Honda the latest one to be the all-new HondaCB500X which was launched a few days ago. Honda is back with the new surprise.
March 30, 2021: Giving the free-spirited riders a chance to go on full throttle, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today launched the new 2021 CBR 650R and CB 650R in India. The new models will make their way to the Indian market through CKD* route. (*Completely Knocked Down). The CB 650R is for young riders seeking a combination of exhilarating four-cylinder engine performance and light, versatile, refined chassis handling. The 2021 model has received a range of detail improvements to enhance comfort, usability, and practicality.
The 649cc, DOHC 16-valve engine, in-line four-cylinder performance, with the classically fast ‘pick-up’ through the rev range and hard-hitting, high-revving top end. Max net power of 64 kW arrives @ 12,000rpm with max net torque of 57.5 Nm delivered at 8,500 rpm.
Both models come with Assist/slipper clutch that eases upshifts and manages hard down changes. The assist mechanism reduces the clutch lever operating load, and the slipper mechanism reduces rear-wheel hopping due to sudden engine braking caused by downshifting improves ease of handling, and provides a more comfortable and smooth ride. The 4-1 side-swept exhaust has been designed to deliver a spine-tingling roar as revs climb.
Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The system adjusts engine power to optimize torque at the rear wheel, reducing rear-wheel slip. The rider can choose to select the ON / OFF setting with the torque control (TC) switch on the left steering wheel. To match the improved engine and suspension performance both the models wear dual radial-mount four-piston brake calipers gripping 79.2 cm2 floating dual discs in the front and 25.4 cm2 disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS gives smooth braking in both wet and dry conditions.
The Showa Separate Function-Big Piston (SSF-BP) USD Forks come with a damping mechanism and spring on the right & left fork. This system offers reduced weight, superior rigidity, and overall excellent performance along with adjustability for spring preload. Aluminum wheels with premium 5-spoke Y-shaped spokes help reduce un-sprung weight. The light hoops have a greater influence on handling than the numbers alone suggest.

As we move ahead in our team analysis for the F1 2021 season, we come to the discussion on the probable top 5 teams of the season.
Let’s get ahead and learn how each team has been shaping up for an intense season starting in a week’s time.
Alpha Tauri comes into the 2021 on a high note with a very good pre-season testing and their new recruit and young Yuki Tsunoda driving the car to its limits. The fastest time for Tsunoda in pre-season tests invited a controversy and it seemed that he had activated DRS (Drag Reduction System) outside the designated DRS zones. But, given the regulations – this can be done in testing but not during race weekends. So, it still awaits to be seen what the real pace of the car is.
Pierre Gasly has been really strong since his demotion from Red bull. The recent race winner at Monza 2020, he has had strong outings in the last season and would be raring to do the same this year as well and show Red Bull what mettle he possesses.
Yuki Tsunoda has had rapid progress in his career too, it will be interesting to see what he can do in a F1 car. On first look though, Alpha Tauri looks a really strong car with good chances of fighting in the mid-field consistently. More onus would be on the rookie, Tsunoda to perform and keep the trust shown in him by the team management. They look like a car that can aim for a top 5 finish in constructors.
After a troubled season in 2020, Ferrari have a basic goal this year – comeback and finish in the top 5 at the least. They had a massive power deficit from their engine in 2020 and things won’t look good if they have not countered that. The team principal of Ferrari, Mattia Binotto, who was at the receiving end of a lot of criticism last year is hopeful that they have solved the problem of the lack of power.
Ferrari have made changes to their line-up this year with Vettel moving out to Aston Martin and Spaniard Carlos Sainz moving in from McLaren. The pre-season testing looked smooth for them apart from a small hiccup where Leclerc had to stop on track owing to a power unit related issue.
Leclerc along with the experience Sainz has had over the years, will be looking to regain back the legacy of Ferrari. None of the Tifosi will be happier with the results Ferrari produced last year, they were clearly slow along the straights. It’s a big task on the new pair to bring back the glory to the Maranello outfit.
Its going to be a big day for Ferrari next Friday as this will be pivotal in describing their work over the winter. We hope they do bounce back strong to compete at the front.
McLaren probably possess one of the best driver lineup for 2021, if not the best. They have Daniel Ricciardo joining them from Renault, and his combination with Lando Norris is going to be a bomb both on and off field as both are known for their knack of creating a funny situation almost everytime. Wonder, how funny and jovial their team briefings would be.
McLaren had a very strong 2020. And with a power unit shift to Mercedes, what needs to be seen is how they cope up with a completely different PU and its set-up. They definitely had to re-design a few parts to go in well with their new Mercedes engine. The reliability did not seem to be an issue in the pre-season testing but what needs to be seen is how good they can be on track with full pace.
It will only be the next weekend, where along with knowing their pace we will also be knowing how well they have adapted to their Mercedes unit. They definitely seem to have a line-up that can drag them to the top of mid-field but what will be interesting to see is how they react to other faster cars on the field, especially Aston Martin.
Expecting them to grow stronger and stronger as the season progresses. They are a real contender for the third place in the constructors.
Red Bull had a poor 2020 going by their standards as for some reason, they did not have their second car performing as their first car. Alex Albon struggled a lot through out the season and this sees him without a seat for 2021. He was replaced by the newest F1 race winner, Sergio Perez, for 2021. The incoming of Perez means that they are receiving an experience of as much as 192 F1 races.
Red Bull has always had the most planted rear-end of a car, and just like that, they did not make any major changes in their design too. The same livery as 2020, they will rely heavily on Checo Perez to gather as many points and race wins as possible in 2021.
Their long time driver Max Verstappen always has looked as a driver to beat in F1. He is super quick and can run away in the teammate battle as he did against the likes of Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon. He was most often a podium placed racer in 2020 along with the two Mercedes, so we expect him to carry on the same form and probably tackle the Mercedes this time around.
Red Bull had the best pre-season testing of all the teams and much better than their main rival, Mercedes who struggled for once – but expect them to come out all guns blazing during the race weekend.
Checo Perez has a lot to prove this year. He has been a classic mid-field driver over the years. His career start at Sauber was phenomenal and the opportunity with a big team (McLaren) probably came a little too early for him as he was no where near the best. He then raced with Sahara Force India and was pivotal in gathering podiums for them. With the second opportunity at a top team, he will be raring to prove his worth and how he can make his mark as a phenomenal driver on the grid.
Checo Perez would be the most exciting driver to watch out for in 2021, so for the F1 fans – watch out for our very own Checo to light up the races the same way he did at Sakhir 2020.
There has been no team that was even close to Mercedes right from the start of 2014. They have been absolutely dominant every single year winning all the championships. Mercedes is known to sandbag a lot during testing and they probably followed the same this year as well. In 2020, they had mechanical issues with testing and this led to their star driver Lewis Hamilton comment in open that they are struggling with reliability, only for them to come out and demolish every other car and each track in 2020. So, if you are a F1 fan for years now, one thing is for sure – DO NOT go by the pre-season testing performance of Mercedes.
They had bad times during testing this year with gearbox issues, change of floor and both drivers complaining of a lack of rear grip. Lewis Hamilton even beached his Mercedes in the gravel after he spun at a very unusual corner. Bottas too struggled but found pace as the testing progressed.
Mercedes over the years, have put no foot wrong and expect them to do the same in 2021 as well. They are expected to be mighty strong. The concern for them is the form of Valterri Bottas. Bottas has failed to compete with Lewis Hamilton on so many occasions. Bottas does have a great one lap pace as he more often than not gets very close to Hamilton’s times but when it comes to the race, it is the 7-time world champion who almost thwarts every opposition aside. Bottas would be looking forward to prove his worth this year, else he may have to vacate the Mercedes seat, now that George Russell has shown what he can do in a Mercedes at Sakhir in 2020.
Hamilton, as always will be a force and the driver to beat. It wont be a surprise if he ends up getting to the landmark of the 100 race wins this year. With the relationship Hamilton enjoys with Mercedes and Toto Wolff, it needs to be seen as how they plan their future. With new regulations coming for 2022, it could mean a lot for Mercedes to keep up the winning nature intact.
Mercedes are expected to lead the field once again, but watch out for the performances of Bottas. He must gather his spirits back and try to stop the utter dominance of his teammate.
Gear up for Bahrain GP:
With this, we hope you have got a knack of the teams for the 2021 Formula 1 season.
The season starts with the Bahrain GP during the next weekend that is 26-28th of March, 2021. This season promises to be super exciting with well set teams and drivers lined up, so do not miss the action.
With the pre-season testing too done and just a week until our first race weekend, it’s a good time to have a look at how the teams have prepared for this season. Let us start with ranking the teams based on their pre-season testing results and the drive lineup. Though, its very difficult to get an actual knack of their performances as teams wouldn’t have had proper runs in terms of set-up, low fuel runs for qualifying etc., we will try to understand how the teams could rank up based on their past performances and taking into consideration all development during the season break.
For a change, lets have a bottom – up approach in this.
Haas have had difficulties even before the season started as they had problems firing up their Ferrari engine until they reached Bahrain for the pre-season tests. The reason being the lockdown rules in Europe and the Ferrari mechanics not being able to travel to Haas factory. Haas is one of the two customers of the Ferrari engine along with Alfa Romeo. They had pre-season controversies as well, with their new driver Nikita Mazepin being involved in a controversy over a social media post.
With Gunther Steiner already stating that they would not put a lot of emphasis on developing the 2021 car, Haas seem to be starring at a tough season ahead. The other thing that makes it more difficult for the team is lining up two rookies – Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin. This literally means less amount of experience in dealing with set-ups, lesser accurate feedback and therefore eventual difficulties in finding the right setup for both qualifying and race.
The positive thing is Haas has facilitated the return of “MSC” to the timing screens. The reigning F2 champion and son of 7-time F1 champion, Mick Schumacher had requested for MSC – his father’s timing screen name and rightfully so, this left almost every F1 fan teary eyed.
Both Mick and Mazepin had decent outings in the pre-season tests with no major mistakes. What needs to be seen now is how they show up at the Bahrain GP scheduled for the next weekend.
Williams under the new leadership seem to have developed their car a bit but these are early days and nothing can be said of their performances as they did not have enough time for their star driver George Russell. They seem to have improved a bit over last year again, but we doubt it would be enough to get into the mid-field yet. Having said that, we never doubt the capabilities of a certain George Russell who was in mega form in qualifying. The race pace was where they were losing out and we hope that they improve and fight in the mid-field this year.
Their striking new livery is very much similar to that of Alpine and it gives a refreshing look first-up. Eyes would definitely be on this team during the first race weekend as we expect them to reduce their gap to the mid-field. Latifi too had a decent outing in pre-season tests and will be looking to up his game this season and be closer to Russell. He was out-qualified in every race weekend last year but would hope to avoid that this time around.
Needs to be seen what impression the strikingly new Williams car makes at Bahrain.
Kimi Raikkonen clocked the most laps – equivalent to 3 race distances during the last day of testing which clearly means that this car has the mileage under its belt. Both Kimi Raikkonen and Giovinazzi have had decent outings in the 2020 season and they would be looking to do the same as a slight improvement would mean they are fighting right in the mid-field. With Kimi sticking around, they have the most experienced driver on the grid, and expect him to show his class – as he did in Portugal last year.
Retaining the same line-up, Giovinazzi has probably got a last chance to prove his worth. He needs to up his game and for that, the first thing he needs to concentrate is on beating his old fox teammate. Kimi is not a easy guy to beat, but with age not on his side and probably this being his last season, Antonio must put up performances which would help him retain his seat for 2022.
This team by no means can struggle to be as low as 7th but the reason we put them here is because of the problems they have had in pre-season testing. Their new recruit, the 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has had hardly any running with gearbox issues, change of floor eating up his allocated time. Lance Stroll did show some pace in the pre-final day but their lack of running means they are slotted at the bottom of the super tight mid-field group.
There is hardly anything to differ between the teams slotted from 3rd to 7th and this could well prove to be the case in reality as well. Lance Stroll was error prone last season with so many involvements in crashes that saw him lose critical points. Sebastian Vettel too had a season which was no where close to his standards. The team might cheer him up to perform much better but going by their problems in testing, it seems to be hardwork for them during the next weekend – but we expect them to be strong and sort out their issues.
The re-named Renault team have attracted a lot of eyes – firstly because the team sees a return of the two time champion Fernando Alonso and secondly because of their livery. They definitely seem to have one of the best looking cars on the 2021 grid. The experienced Alonso hit the track as if he was never out of F1. The recent jaw surgery doesn’t seem to be troubling him at all.
Both Alonso and Ocon had decent outings in the pre-season tests. The car seemed reliable and fast enough to compete with the mid-field pack like in 2020.
The team-mate battle is something to look for here as Alonso will be eager to show the world why he is the one of the all time F1 greats and Ocon would be giving his all to prove to the team that he deserves the seat. Ocon has had a fairly topsy turvy F1 career till date, he must start putting up performances otherwise his place is in danger with fellow Frenchman Pierre Gasly knocking the doors.
Check out part 2 for the top 5 teams!!
The all-new Skoda Kushaq, yes you guessed it right it is based on the concept car ‘VISION IN’ showcased in AutoExpo 2020. Earlier Skoda India registered the name as ‘KLIQ’ for the production-spec variant of the Vision IN. A few days ago in January 2021, Skoda India announced the name Kushaq and the significance of the name was derived from the Sanskrit word called Kushak. Why is it named ‘Kushaq’ then you may ask? Skoda defines SUVs and crossovers with the naming format starting with ‘K’ and ending with ‘Q’ for example the Karoq, Kodiaq, and the new upcoming crossover which might be called ‘Kamiq’. Earlier Skoda India registered the name KLIQ for the production-spec variant of the Vision IN. The launch of the ŠKODA KUSHAQ sees the brand enter India’s rapidly growing mid-size SUV segment. Lining up alongside the larger KODIAQ and KAROQ models, the KUSHAQ – developed exclusively for India – is the third ŠKODA SUV in that market.
Price of Kushaq? Launch date?
This was a World Premiere of the Kushaq, the company is yet to reveal the launch date and price. We still expect the car to be launched just after the New Skoda Octavia which debuts the Indian sedan market later in April 2021. Regarding the price, we estimate this product to be placed between 10lacs to 15lacs as we mentioned in our previous article on Kushaq.
How Big is Kushaq in real life?
The SUV is 4,225 mm long, 1,760 mm wide, and has a height of 1,612 mm. Its long wheelbase of 2,651 mm – which is among the longest in the segment – and a ground clearance of 188 mm makes it appear much larger than it actually is.
Reference Hyundai Creta: L x W x H =4,300 mm x 1,790 mm x 1,635 mm .Wheelbase : 2610mm. Ground Clearance : 190mm.
How is the Exterior?
ŠKODA has retained a wealth of the striking VISION IN concept car’s aspects in the production model virtually without making any changes. Featuring a distinctive front and prominent bonnet, the KUSHAQ’s ŠKODA SUV family resemblance is clear at first glance. The ribs of the wide grille are gloss black and the chrome grille surround extends to the headlights. The upper section of the muscular front bumper is body-colored, the lower part is black. From the Ambition trim level upwards, the underbody protection comes in a silver finish, as do the roof rails, which are black in the Active trim. A straight roofline, as well as a tornado line at the height of the door, handles, make the vehicle appear longer than it actually is. At the same time, the powerful wheel arches set off with black plastic trim and black side skirts bring out the KUSHAQ’s athletic look and lend it a self-assured stance on the road. The Style variant also features chrome-plated window frames and door handles. The clearly structured rear is characterized by the elongated roof spoiler, the ŠKODA lettering in block letters on the tailgate, and the bumper with a robust rear diffuser, which is set off in silver from the Ambition trim line upwards. The ŠKODA KUSHAQ offers plenty of space for five occupants and, with a capacity of 385 l, has a generous boot. The entry-level trim line, Active, features 16-inch steel wheels and Lhotse full wheel covers. In the Ambition trim level, the KUSHAQ comes with Grus 16-inch alloy wheels, while 17-inch Atlas two-tone alloys provide a visual highlight as standard for the Style variant.
How is the interior?
Even the entry-level variant of the ŠKODA KUSHAQ features particularly powerful air conditioning, and from Ambition upwards, the SUV boasts Climatronic with a touch control panel. Even more ultra-modern features are offered in the range-topping trim, Style, which comes with ventilated leather front seats, KESSY keyless entry, an electric sliding glass roof, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The steering wheel grabs the attention to a whole new level as it is a 2-spoke steering wheel. Probably the first in India to bring back the two-spoke steering wheel in fashion. We believe Skoda to introduce the same steering wheel on the new Skoda Octavia as well.
The interior of the KUSHAQ is dominated by a central, free-standing infotainment touchscreen; the character line running below this makes reference to the silhouette of the ŠKODA grille. A unique storage option has been specially designed to meet the needs of Indian customers: a utility recess on the dashboard. This is where the driver can keep a firmly attached lucky charm in clear view. All variants of the brand-new SUV offer numerous storage compartments in the interior with a total capacity of up to 26.2 l. These include, for example, the 6.1-litre glove compartment, which is air-conditioned from the Ambition trim upwards, and the 2.2-liter Jumbo Box in the center console. In the front and rear door panels, there is plenty of room for storing bottles and other items. A cup holder can be found in the armrest of the rear seat, which folds down in a ratio of 60:40 from Ambition upwards. The Ambition trim also offers a compartment in the roof lining in the front for keeping sunglasses, so they are always within easy reach. Even in the entry-level variant, the ŠKODA KUSHAQ offers white ambient lighting and LED reading lights in the front and rear. From the Ambition trim level upwards, the ambient lighting also illuminates the dashboard and door handles, while the door handles are chrome-plated and the gearstick knob is upholstered in leather. The Style trim is particularly elegant. It offers an extended chrome package with decorative chrome trim on the instrument panel as well as the gearstick surround; the handbrake locking button also sports a chrome look. The side bolsters of the ventilated front seats, which come as standard, are finished in a leather-look, as are the covers of the center armrest and the armrests in the doors.
Top-of-the-range infotainment system with a 10-inch screen
The Ambition and Style trim levels include the range-topping infotainment system with a 10-inch color touchscreen that has the same functionalities as is common for smartphones. This system also features a dual tuner, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an external microphone for hands-free phone calls. On top of this, the system supports Bluetooth standard 4.0. Smartphones can be paired and the online app store accessed without the need for a cable using Wireless SmartLink technology. Downloads from the online app store allow for the range of functions to be expanded, for example, by a navigation function. The GPS receiver required has been pre-installed accordingly for this purpose. There are two USB-C ports in the center console as well as two at the rear console for connecting and charging mobile devices via cable; the Style variant can also be equipped with a Phone Box in the front which allows smartphones to be charged inductively. In addition to MP3 and WMA, this system can also play AAC and FLAC media files.
ŠKODA sound system with additional subwoofer
The ŠKODA Kushaq comes with six high-performance speakers as standard – two separate tweeters and bass speakers in the front and two two-way speakers in the rear – providing a wide frequency range and guaranteeing excellent sound. The ŠKODA sound system is part of the standard equipment in the Style variant. In addition to higher-performance speakers, it also offers a separate amplifier and a subwoofer that is located in the spare wheel well.
What are the features of Kushaq on Safety?
With its comprehensive range of active and passive safety features and numerous convenient assistance systems, the ŠKODA Kushaq provides excellent levels of protection for the driver and passengers. High levels of driving safety are ensured at all times by the ESC system, which is a standard feature in all variants. The Multi-Collision Brake prevents potential follow-on collisions in the event of an accident. Should an accident occur, the vehicle’s occupants are protected by up to six airbags: in addition to airbags for the driver and front passenger, the KUSHAQ can be fitted with optional front side airbags and curtain airbags. All headrests are height-adjustable, and the center seat in the rear is also equipped with a three-point seat belt. ISOFIX and top-tether anchor points on the rear seats to fit child seats come as standard.
How Powerful is the Kushaq?
The MQB variant specially adapted for India, the MQB-A0-IN platform, makes it possible to equip the brand-new ŠKODA Kushaq with advanced and efficient TSI engines. Thanks to their low fuel consumption, the direct-injection petrol engines enable long ranges. The car comes in two engine options both are petrol. The entry-level 1.0 TSI produces 85 kW (115 PS) from its displacement of one liter. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission
The 1.5 TSI has – as its denomination suggests – a displacement of 1.5 liters. Its power output of 110 kW (150 PS) is delivered to the front wheels via a manual 6-speed gearbox, the same as with the 1.0 TSI. This engine can be configured with a 7-speed DSG with gear ratios that offer a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort.
Kushaq comes in 5 color varients
We are eager to test the car as much as you, want to know more about the Kushaq, head out to our YouTube channel we have got the World Static Premier covered.

When you hear Car enthusiasts discussing 4×4’s go offroad, there are major brands that come to in our mind such as the Land Rover, Toyota, or maybe the Isuzu. But one such brand which has always been on the count is JEEP. Built on 80 years of legendary heritage, Jeep is the authentic SUV with capability, craftsmanship, and versatility for people who seek extraordinary journeys. Jeep launched the Wrangler in August 2019, but it was a full import and the taxes were heavy.
One of the many reasons why the Indian automotive industry has rare cars like the Nissan Skyline, Subaru Imprezza, etc is the import duty levied on them which is 100% that means if a car is worth 30lacs it will be in your parking lot only if you pay 60lacs that’s just an example. But one solution for this issue is to locally assemble the cars in India for which the taxes are 20-30% which is affordable for the company and the customers as well.
Jeep India today announced that the Jeep Wrangler – the world’s most recognized vehicle is now locally-assembled and launched in India at INR 53.90 lakh (ex-showroom price). Jeep India started production of the Wrangler in February and is now ready for retail across the country. Celebrating 80 years of Jeep globally, a limited number of the Wrangler’s 80th Anniversary ‘Launch Edition’ is also
available to Indian customers. The locally-assembled Jeep Wrangler is launched in two attractive variants – the Unlimited and the legendary, Rubicon. Both variants will be powered by a Bharat Stage VI compliant 2.0-litre, IN-Line 4-cylinder, turbo petrol powertrain. Based on the group’s GME or Global Medium Engine platform, this powertrain produces 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque
and comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Jeep brand’s India-owned 100,000 square-foot MOPAR Parts Distribution Centre in Chakan will be supplying these accessories to Jeep brand dealerships.
THE ICONIC JEEP WRANGLER
The Wrangler is the Jeep brand’s most technologically advanced Wrangler ever. World-renowned for its craftsmanship, off-road prowess and customizable design, the Wrangler has become the metaphorical template for SUVs globally.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon commands the highest respect as an authentic off-roader. The legendary Rubicon’s off-roading prowess comes from its proven RockTrac® Full Time 4×4 technology. It is equipped with an electronically operated clutch that engages and disengages automatically depending on the amount of traction needed in the situation. A mechanical shifter is provided to shift from 2H to 4L, 4H Auto, and Part-Time 4L. 4H Part-Time and 4L modes use ‘Smart Lock’ to maintain constant 4WD engagement for off-road driving. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a Dana 44 heavy-duty, solid axles, with TruLok® in the front and rear.
The Front Sway Bar in the Rubicon can be electronically disconnected. Flip the toggle switch on the center stack of the dashboard and the Sway Bar can be disconnected in 4L and 4H, allowing the front suspension to travel up to an additional 30%. The Wrangler is known for its superb articulation amongst SUVs across the globe and the Rubicon is the benchmark.
Part of the unique performance features that the Rubicon offers is ‘Offroad+’. It is activated by the push of a button provided next to the Sway Bar toggle on the center stack. When engaged, Offroad+ automatically adapts to the type of terrain the Rubicon is on and makes adjustments to key systems for optimal performance. These including throttle, Selec-Speed® Control, traction control, and transmission shift mode. If enabled in 4H, it tailors the performance for higher-speed driving on sand. When enabled in 4L, it adjusts for low-speed rock crawling. The Rubicon has an outstanding crawl ratio of 77:1 with a 4:1 low range ratio, which makes it an off-roader par excellence.
The Rubicon has a ground clearance of 217 mm (as per IS 9435:2004), water wading capability of 760 mm (at 8 km/h), and approach, departure, and break-over angles of 36-degrees, 31-degrees, and 21-degrees respectively. It has thick gauge boron steel underbody skid plates, which protect critical sections of the vehicle’s underbelly in potentially extreme off-road conditions.
While both have state-of-the-art 4×4 hardware making them superior off-roaders in their own right, the Rubicon is the more capable off-roader. The Unlimited is also an incredibly attractive package with body-colored trapezoidal wheel flares, 18-inch aluminum alloys with granite crystal spokes, and all-season tires. Also a proven Trail Rated off-roader, the Unlimited comes with the SelecTrac® Full Time 4×4 system. This proven system with its active 4WD transfer case is fully automatic and intelligent, so customers can simply enjoy the driving experience. It sends torque to the wheels with the most grip, providing continuous optimum traction in all driving conditions. The ‘Smart Lock’ feature keeps the system engaged during off-roading or low traction road conditions.
