The new Isuzu Mu-X and Chevy Trailblazer are same? Let’s find out if the ‘Born to be More’ is new or is it a decade-old car. Isuzu MU-7 was the predecessor of the mu-X, and back in 2013, it made its world debut in Thailand. It was a joint venture between General Motors (GM) and  Isuzu, where the car was rebadged as Holden Colorado or Chevrolet Trailblazer for GM. For Isuzu, it was Mu-x due to some agreement with GM, Isuzu had to launch the car after GM. This week we got a new updated version of the Isuzu V-cross and the Mu-x which are BS6 compliant, even though when the world got updated versions of the Isuzu Mux and V-cross we are still having a decade old design.

Chevrolet India left the country back in 2017, with its last attempt at achieving a stable position in the Indian automotive market they launched the Chevrolet Trailblazer in 2015 hoping it to be a great product of all times, but Captiva sales were double than the trailblazer.

As we mentioned earlier Mu-x and Trailblazer were the same, which means that we had seen this car back in 2015 and Isuzu has bought the same car with a rebadged version. Let’s compare and find out what makes the Isuzu Mu-X (2021) stand out when compared with Chevy Trailblazer 2015 ( 6 years ago). Find this to be a bit unfair? Check the table below.

Yes, this was quite surprising to us as well, the Trailblazer was a perfect competition to Toyota’s Fortuner back then, unfortunately, it was not good at sales only because of the heavy price tag. One of the main reasons why it was heavily priced was the full import taxes levied on the company.

On the other hand, we are watching history repeating itself same car and the company is struggling to make sales, again for the same reason HEAVY PRICING.

Back then Chevrolet had quite a lot of reasons to ask for that price such as the great interiors, the only Suv to be huge and most powerful more than Fortuner, etc. But on the other hand, Isuzu asking for such a huge price by redesigning bumpers, installing few fancy electricals such as the Projector, etc will result in poor sales.

Calculating the price of Trailblazer if it was launched today as it comes very close to 2021 Isuzu Mu-X

Back in 2015, it was priced at 25 lacs, with an inflation rate of 24.59% and an average rate of inflation of 4.5% today the price of 25 lacs is somewhere around 31 lacs we still have a margin of 7 lacs if we go for Isuzu 4×4 that is 35lacs.
