Ather Energy has inaugurated its second manufacturing facility. The new facility, located in Hosur will produce their 450X and 450 Plus models.
The new facility at Hosur in Tamil Nadu is spread over an area of 300,000 sq.ft. The factory includes two units- one for battery production and another for vehicle assembly. Ather claims that the factory has an installed capacity of 420,000 units per annum. Additionally, the facility uses Industry 4.0 connected technology to reduce quality issues and ensure a faster process. Ather also states that the facility will have zero effluents and zero water discharge. Instead the water will treated in an in-house STP and be reused.
Along with the inauguration, Ather also disclosed plans of expanding to around 150 experience centres across 100 cities by March 2023. They also plan to install 1400 Ather Grid EV charging stations by the end of FY23.
Ather currently sells two models- 450X and 450 Plus with prices starting from Rs. 1,34,147 (Ex-showroom). The 450X has an ARAI-certified range of 146km.
