Audi has launched the facelifted version of its flagship luxury sedan, the A8L in India. It is powered by a 3.0L TFSI engine with prices starting at Rs.1.29 crore.
The new A8L will continue to be powered by the same 3.0L twin turbo V6 petrol engine producing 340HP and 500NM. It also employs 48V mild-hybrid technology to achieve a 0-100 time of 5.7s. The wheels are sent power through a Quattro AWD system. The A8L also rides on adaptive air suspension which can also adjust itself according to the terrain through the front camera for speeds upto 30kmph. The car also raises itself up by 50mm when the doors are opened for easier ingress and egress.
The major updates for the new A8 are in the form of the refreshed exteriors which consist of updated bumpers, new digital matrix headlamps, a new grille and more. The A8L also gets a new set of 19 inch dual-tone alloys.
Other interesting bits include an optional 10 airbags, recliner rear seats with massage and ventilation function, a 1920W 23 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, air ionizer among much more.
The Audi A8L is now available in 2 variants- Celebration Edition and Technology priced at Rs. 1.29 Crore and 1.57 Crore (ex-showroom) respectively. It will be available in a 4 seater configuration in the Technology trim. Audi is also offering upto 55 exterior and 8 interior colour combinations along with a host of personalisation available. The A8L is Audi’s flagship sedan and will compete with rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz S Class, BMW 7 Series and Jaguar XJL.
