BMW India has launched a limited “50 Jahre Edition” of its flagship SUV, the X7 in India. The SUV has been launched at a price of Rs. 1.2 Crore (ex-showroom)
The “50 Jahre Edition” receives a host of updates such as gloss black kidney grille, 21-inch black alloy wheels with gloss black finished brake calipers. It also gets M badges all around. BMW will also offer an optional M Accessories Package which will additionally provide carbon-fibre mirror caps and an Alcantara steering wheel and key fob. The X7 50 Jahre Edition will be offered in two BMW Individual paint options of Mineral White and Carbon Black. It will be based on the 40i M Sport petrol trim. It is a part of BMW India’s tribute to the completion of 50 years of the M high-performance division and is one of 10 cars planned to receive such editions.
On the mechanical front, it remains identical to the standard X7 and will be powered by a 3.0L turbo petrol engine mated to an 8 speed torque converter transmission. This combo produces 340HP and 450NM and will send the car from 0-100 Kmph in a claimed 6.1 seconds. It gets luxury features such as a 5 zone climate control, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Gesture control and dual 10.2 inch displays for the rear passengers and more. The X7 “50 Jahre Edition will be produced as a CKD at BMW India’s Chennai plant and is priced at Rs. 1,20,50,000 (Ex-showroom). The X7 competes against the Audi Q7 and Mercedes Benz GLS.
