Citroen C3 has long been launched in India, but prices for the French automaker’s entry level vehicle were released as late as Wednesday.
The C3 aims to go up against the small-SUV stronghold of the Tata Punch, the Renault Kiger and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. The base ‘Live’ model starts at an introductory INR 5.7Lakhs (ex-showroom), going up to INR 8.05Lakhs for the top of the line turbo ‘Vibe’. Check the entire price list below.
The Citroen C3:
The C3 is available in 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine mated with a 5 speed MT or a 1.2L Turbo 3 cylinder petrol mated to a 6 speed MT guises. These powerplants make 80bhp and a feisty 108bhp respectively. The turbo engine puts out a staggering 190Nm of torque making it the most powerful engine in its class. The variants need to make do with a manual gearbox, and the presence of an AT is sorely missed.
The Citroen C3 gets a funky design all over the body with colour accents to separate it from the bland competitors. It even gets LED DRLs up front, trendy alloys at the sides with a well-proportioned rear end. Being a budget car, there is a rather small amount of chrome here and there, but that doesn’t mean the car looks any outdated.
On the interior, the C3 gets a fair share of plastic bits but a 10-inch infotainment screen, a digital driver’s display yet sans the rev counter. An orange slab of trim dominates the interior look of the car, with a complementing swathe of hard black plastics all around. It does get two parking sensors and a reversing camera as an accessory.
