Ferrari has confirmed their new Purosangue SUV to breathe with Marenello’s iconic V12 powerplant, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
In the midst of the Italian auto behemoth focussing heavily on hybrids such as the 296 GTB, 296 GTS and the SF90 Stradale, this comes as a rather petrolhead-friendly move by Ferrari.

“We’ve tested several options, it was clear that the V12, for the performance and driving experience it could provide, was the right option for the market,” Ferrari Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna said on Wednesday.
Having fitted with a V12, expect the Ferrari Purosangue to come mated to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission with supercar-levels of performance under the right foot. The Bentley Bentayga also comes with 12 cylinders, albeit with a W12 configuration rather than V.
Expected to launch later this year, Purosangue will mark Ferrari’s entrance into the highly lucrative space of luxury and sports SUVs. The range is currently dominated by the likes of Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
