Force Urbania platform unveiled; launch in two weeks!

Force has taken covers off their much awaited next generation monocoque platform, codenamed the T1N. Christened the Force Urbania, it was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 but the launch got delayed on account of covid related supply-chain issues.

Built on a new grounds-up monocoque platform, the Urbania becomes the first in segment to offer crash, rollover and pedestrian safety regulations. Aiding these is the presence of driver and co-driver airbags, 4 disc brakes, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, ABS, EBD and ETDC. A familiar Mercedes-derived 2.6L engine does duty here. Mated to a 5 speed manual, it produces 115HP and 350NM. Force has given the Urbania an independent front suspension as well.

Equipment also includes tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, DRLs, Projector headlamps, 7 inch touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, reverse park assist, reading lamps and charging ports for passengers and more. A 6/8 speaker music system is also on offer.

The Urbania will be available in 3 wheelbases. The short wheelbase measures 3350mm while seating Driver+10 passenger. The medium wheelbase comes with Driver+13 seating capacity measuring at 3615mm. The longest variant in the lineup gets as much as Driver+17 seats with the wheelbase measuring at 4400mm.

The Urbania will be launched soon with dispatches scheduled to begin early next month. Expect pricing to be revealed soon. While there are no direct rivals, expect the Urbania to go up against the likes of Tata Winger.
