Jeep India has teased the Grand Cherokee for India. It will sit above the Wrangler to become Jeep’s flagship SUV in India. The car is poised to launch next month, in November 2022.
The new Grand Cherokee is available in a choice of 3 powertrains globally, however Jeep is expected to offer a 3.6L Pentastar V6 motor paired to an 8 speed torque-converter transmission here. Additionally, it will also get four-wheel-drive and ADAS among others. Features such as ADAS, selectable terrain modes, a 10.1 inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, heads-up display and a panoramic sunroof will also be on offer.
While pricing is not known yet, we expect the new Grand Cherokee to cost around Rs. 80-85 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). It will be produced as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down unit) at Jeep’s facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra and will sit above the Wrangler to be the new Jeep flagship in India. Chief rivals of the new Grand Cherokee include the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLE among others.
