Jeep has launched their newest SUV- the Meridian today. The Meridian seats 7 and is based on the same platform as the Compass. One thing to note is that Jeep has launched in only in 2 variants. Jeep also claims the Meridian has received more than 1200 bookings already for the SUV. The prices for the same start at Rs. 29.90 Lakhs
The prices for the variants are as follows-
- Meridian Limited MT- Rs. 29,90,000
- Meridian Limited AT- Rs. 31,80,000
- Meridian Limited (O)MT- Rs. 32,40,000
- Meridian Limited (O)AT- Rs. 34,30,000
- Meridian Limited (O) AT 4×4- Rs. 36,95,000

As can be seen from the variant spread, 4×4 is only available with an automatic transmission and in the top variant while all others have to make do with front wheel drive. The Meridian is powered by a 2.0L Multijet II diesel engine producing upto 170HP and 350NM of torque. It’s chief rivals include the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross and MG Gloster among others.
The Meridian is open for bookings at Jeep dealerships nationwide and deliveries are expected to begin early next month.
