Jio-bp and TVS Motor Company announced on Monday that they have agreed to create a public EV charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the country, capitalising on Jio-bp’s network in this space. Under this proposed partnership, the customers of TVS electric vehicles and other vehicles are expected to get widespread access to the said infrastructure.
Building up on the presence of both companies in the market, this partnership aims at creating a regular AC charging network and a DC fast-charging network. All of these infrastructures will be available for use via the respective Jio-bp and TVS apps to the customers.

Jio-bp (a joint venture in itself between Jio and bp) already has functional charging and battery swapping stations in place under the brand of Jio-bp pulse. With all of these in sync, the venture wants to be one of the largest players in the EV charging space in India.

TVS Motor Company has had its fair share of advance towards developing new electric mobility systems. Since its launch, the company has already sold over 12,000 units of its high-speed electric scooter TVS iQube.

This partnership between Jio-bp and TVS Motors will help drive EV adoption in the country among two and three-wheeler customers who look to take the step forward in going electric. The growth of these charging stations will broaden both the companies’ horizons and help meet India’s net-zero emission goals for the coming decades.
