Kia India has issued a recall for over 44,000 units of its Carens MPV. The issue is suspected to be a faulty airbag control module software which will be updated and fixed free of cost. The recall is voluntary and owners can schedule appointments with their service centres under the campaign.
Owners can also schedule the appointment through Kia’s website or through the Kia app. They are also in the process for reaching out to owners and informing them. If you own a Carens, we suggest you get the fix if your car is a part of the recall.
The Carens was launched last year with an option of 2 petrol and 1 diesel engines. Six airbags are standard on the and it received a 3 star Global NCAP crash rating. You can read our review of the Carens here.
