Kia on Friday refreshed two of its best-selling cars in India, the Seltos and Sonet, for 2022.
These refreshed versions now come with multiple additional features over their older models. Many existing features from higher variants have been extended down to lower variants.
Kia has spared slightly greater attention to safety with this refresh: both the cars get 4 airbags as standard in the form of front and side protection. They also bring around two new colour options for both the models, called ‘Imperial blue’ and ‘Sparkling Silver’. On top of these, both the refreshes get a revamped Kia Connect app which Kia claims to provide advanced connectivity.
What's new in the Seltos?

The new Seltos comes with a few subtle style changes in guise of a new “Seltos” logo, tweaks to the scuff plate and tailgate, while the X-line variant will now get “X-Line” logo on its Indigo Pera seats. Under the hood, Kia now offers the option of its Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) mated to the 1.5L Diesel Engine for the first time, on the HTK+ variant.
As mentioned, multiple safety features have made into the lower variants, with Side Airbag, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Highline TPMS) and All-Wheel Disc brakes being made standard from the ground up while the HTK+ variant even gets curtain airbags. Paddle Shifters along with multi-drive and traction modes have been extended to all the automatic variants of refreshed Kia Seltos. Kia will also offer it as a new variant of HTX AT with the 1.5L Diesel powerplant.
What's new in the Sonet?

The new Sonet has just one design change with the updated logo. On the inside, side airbags and Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Highline TPMS) are offered as standard while Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) have been made standard on all the iMT trims. Furthermore, curtain airbags will now be available from HTX+ variant onwards. The HTX variant and above now gets Kia’s instrument cluster in addition to the semi leatherette seats being offered with and beyond the HTE variant.
The Seltos now comes at the starting price of INR 10.19 Lakhs ex-showroom while the Sonet starts at INR 7.15Lakhs ex-showroom, available in 19 and 21 variants respectively with bookings of both 2022 models already begun.
