Mahindra XUV400 EV launched; 456km range

Mahindra has launched the much-awaited XUV400 EV. It is based on a stretched version of the XUV300 and is the first electric SUV from Mahindra’s stable. Further it is priced from Rs. 15.99 Lakhs. It will be available with an option of two battery packs.

Mahindra had previously taken wraps off the XUV400 back in September. It gets an option of two battery packs- 34.5kWh and 39.kWh in the EC and EL variants respectively. This gives the XUV400 a claimed range of 375Km and 456Km (MIDC) respectively. Further, the XUV400 EV gets DC fast charging capability. Power comes from an electric motor and is rated at 150HP and 310NM. According to Mahindra, the car does the 0-100 Kmph in a segment leading 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 150Kmph. Interestingly, the car gets a single-speed gearbox as well.

 

Talking of features, the XUV400 gets a lot of gadgetry including an regenerative brakes, electric sunroof, keyless entry and go, 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, drive modes, smart watch connectivity, auto wipers and headlamps and more. It also receives first-in-segment “Lively” driving mode to enable single-pedal driving in traffic. Moreover, it debuts Mahindra’s new twin-peaks logo in a copper shade being an EV. Other touches include clear lens taillamps, different alloy wheels, a longer length of 4200mm and a faux grille. 5 colour options are offered including- Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue with dual tone option of Satin Copper. It will offer a 3 year/unlimited kms warranty for the car and an 8 year/ 1.6L km warranty on the battery and motor as standard.

Mahindra XUV400 pricing

Mahindra offers the XUV400 EV in two trims- EC and EL, the EC version gets a choice of either 3.3kW or 7.2kW chargers while the latter is standard on the EL. Pricing is pegged at Rs. 15.99 Lakhs, Rs. 16.49 Lakhs and Rs. 18.99 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) respectively. Test-drives will be available across dealerships by the end of this week. Consequently, deliveries for the EL will begin in March 2023 while the EC variants are expected to get delivered by Diwali 2023. Bookings have been opened for Phase 1 which includes 34 cities. It will rival the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV.
