Maruti Suzuki has announced the commencement of bookings for the upcoming Brezza facelift which is expected to launch on June 30th. We had earlier brought you pics of the new Brezza in flesh here.
Maruti has also given us a sneak peek into the features that the new SUV will have on offer including an electric sunroof- a first for Maruti in recent years. A 6 speed Torque converter AT with paddleshifters will also be available as on the new XL6. This unit will be procured from Aisin. The new Maruti Brezza will be powered by a 1.5L K15C petrol engine with 103HP and 136NM. This engine will come with mild-hybrid technology to boost the fuel economy and improve low-end performance. The SUV will be offered with a 5 speed manual transmission as standard. Maruti has also confirmed a CNG-powered version in the works.
On the safety side, the new Brezza will be equipped with 6 airbags and ESP on the higher variants. It will also receive a 9 inch touchscreen on the top variants with a smaller 7 inch unit from the current car doing duty on the lower variants.
Consequently, the Brezza’s rebadged cousin, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is also expected to get a new update on the lines of its facelift. It will also get a new moniker and will be called the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The new Maruti Brezza is now open for bookings through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships. The SUV can also be booked through their official website. The booking amount has been kept at Rs. 11,000. The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to compete with rivals such as the recently launched Hyundai Venue facelift, the Nissan Magnite and Tata Nexon among others.
