Maruti Grand Vitara launched- starts from 10.45 Lakhs

Maruti has launched its flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara at a price of Rs. 10.45 Lakhs. It will be sold through their NEXA brand of dealerships and is available with a mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrains.

The new Grand Vitara will occupy the top position in Maruti’s vast lineup. The new SUV is powered by a choice of two powertrains- a K15C 1.5L mild-hybrid four cylinder petrol mated to either a 5 speed MT or 6 speed torque converter AT. The strong-hybrid is powered by an electric motor along with a 1.5L three cylinder petrol engine which is mated to an eCVT transmission.

The mild-hybrid is also available with a Suzuki All-Grip all-wheel-drive system and uses brake regeneration technology for better efficiency. Maruti has also announced a standard 8 years/1,60,00 kms warranty on the strong hybrid battery pack.

The Grand Vitara, based on the global Suzuki TECT platform also receives a long list of equipment including a 360 camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, heads up display, Suzuki Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, drive modes and more.

Talking of safety features, it gets 6 airbags, ESP with hill hold, 3 point seatbelts on all seats, all disc brakes, hill descent control and TPMS among others.

The Grand Vitara is available in 6 single-tone and 3 dual-tone colour options. Maruti is also offering two accessory customisation packs called the ENIGMAX and ENIGMAX X which add a few exterior trims at the dealer level. An extended warranty of 5 years/1 lakh kms and an accessory pack worth Rs.67,000 is also being given as an introductory offer for the strong-hybrid.

The Grand Vitara is available across 10 variants with prices starting at Rs. 10.45 Lakhs going all the way till Rs. 19.65 Lakhs for the top variant. It will compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Volkswagen Taigun among others. The Grand Vitara can also be subscribed through Maruti’s subscription program starting at Rs. 27,000 per month.
