Maruti Suzuki has launched the long awaited refresh to their premium-most offering in the country: the XL6; revealed right after the company had given its Ertiga a refresh as well.
The new XL6 gets its fair share of cosmetic updates both inside and outside, as well as on the drivetrain side of things with a new 1.5L powerplant and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Design of the XL6:
Exterior design updates in the car include a new front grille with a sweeping X-bar element, quad chamber LEDs up front with DRLs, a new gloss black finish on the B&C pillars with chrome bits on the fenders and back door spoiler, 3D tail lamps with light guide & smoke grey lens and even, a shark fin antenna. The car will also get multiple options for dual tone colours.
On the inside, XL6 now gets the all-important ventilated seats in front, a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro Touchscreen infotainment system with voice assist, contemporary smart connect features with smart watch integration and Amazon Alexa in the form of “Suzuki Connect”. It even gets an onboard voice assistant triggered by “Hi Suzuki”. A new roof lining with some lighting here and there add to the premium appeal of the XL6, claims Maruti Suzuki. An interesting omission here still is the lack of a sunroof.
On its safety front, Suzuki has given the usual package, including a 360 degree view camera, 4 airbags and electronic stability program with hill hold assist as standard in addition to a tyre pressure monitoring system as well.
Doing all the pulling work for the XL6 is only the new K16B 1.5L mind hybrid petrol engine churning out 103hp with a max torque of 136Nm. The new powerplant gets mated to an also brand new 6 speed automatic torque convertor transmission. Maruti Suzuki claims to have a fuel efficiency of 20.27km/l for the auto and 20.97km/l for the manual gearboxes.
The XL6 range starts at INR 11.29Lacs (ex-showroom) for the Zeta manual variant going all the way up to INR 14.55Lacs (ex-showroom) for the Alpha+ automatic dual tone variant, available from the NEXA line of showrooms.
