New Mahindra Scorpio-N launch date revealed

The upcoming Mahindra SUV was christened “Scorpio-N” today, as the company is gearing up to launch their latest offering on 27th June 2022.

Bearing internal codename “Z101”, the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’ comes as a generational upgrade over the aging Scorpio, with Mahindra claiming to redefine the D-segment of people movers. Alongside the incoming model, the current generation Scorpio will also be sold as the “Scorpio Classic’.

Mahindra says the Scorpio-N will appeal to the “young and tech-savvy customers looking for a full-size authentic SUV”. Speaking of which, the off-roader will be having off-road-ey characteristics as it will built on a previously familiar body-on-frame chassis. Premium interiors with a host of modern features and latest technology stands part of Mahindra’s arsenal of choice; something the company has been historically lacking.

Capabilities of the Scorpio-N:

As per engine options, the third generation Scorpio-N will be available in both petrol and diesel options with a choice of Manual and Automatic gearboxes. Fret not, there will also be a 4×4 drivetrain with low range modes. This makes it the only 7-seater with 4×4 in this price bracket.

The All-New Scorpio-N arrives on 27th June 2022 and will be manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Chakan.

Price and Competition:

Once launched, it will pose as a rugged alternative to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq or the Nissan Kicks. Expect to shell out around INR 10-19Lakhs depending on models.
