Suzuki Motorcycles has launched their latest naked sportsbike, the Katana. It carries a retro design theme inspired by the original Suzuki Katana which was launched globally in 1981 and pays tribute to the legend. The new Katana comes powered by a 999cc DOHC Inline-4 engine which produces a maximum of 150HP @ 11,000rpm and 106NM@9,250rpm. The motorcycle also comes standard with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System which further includes features such as Traction Control System with 5 settings, Selectable Drive Modes which alters engine response, Ride-by-Wire tech for better throttle response, Low RPM Assist to prevent stalling and Suzuki Easy Start System. Suzuki also claims that the lightweight chassis is engineered for agility and the seating position has been kept upright to be more comfortable on longer rides.
Suzuki also offers a full LCD Cluster with adjustable brightness and LED lights on both ends.
The new Suzuki Katana is now available to book through Suzuki Bike Zone dealerships and is priced at Rs. 13,61,000. Two colour options are offered- Metallic Mat Stellar Blue and Metallic Mystic Silver. It will compete with other litre-class bikes such as the Kawasaki Z900 and BMW F900R.
