Tata Harrier.ev – Power and Technology

The Tata Harrier.ev uses a dual-motor layout, delivers a combined 389hp and 504Nm. The top-end AWD variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Battery options include 65kWh and 75kWh packs. Tata claims a certified range of 622km for the AWD (QWD) and 627km for the RWD versions of the Harrier.ev, both using the 75kWh battery under the MIDC test cycle. The SUV also supports 1.5C fast charging, which can add up to 250km of range in just 15 minutes. The range and other technical details for the 65kWh variant haven’t been revealed

Tata Harrier.ev – Design

From a distance, the Harrier EV looks pretty much like the facelifted Harrier we’ve seen since 2023 — but look closer and the EV-specific touches start to stand out. The front grille is now sealed off, and the bumper gets a cleaner, more modern look with horizontal lines running across it.

On the side, it’s got new 19-inch aero-style alloy wheels and a small ‘EV’ badge on the front doors — subtle, but enough to tell you this isn’t the diesel version. At the back, the only giveaway is the ‘Harrier.ev’ badge on the tailgate. In terms of size, it’s just 2mm longer and 22mm taller than the regular Harrier, with the same 2,741mm wheelbase.

Tata Harrier.ev – Features

In terms of equipment, the Tata Harrier.ev offers several high-end features, including a 14.5-inch Samsung OLED infotainment system, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also gets Level 2 ADAS, a 540-degree camera system, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Tata’s Digi Access keyless entry system with smartphone integration. Features like Reverse Assist, Summon Mode, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power transfer are also available, mostly on the top-spec trim.

Tata Harrier.ev – Safety Features

On the safety front, the Tata Harrier.ev includes seven airbags as standard, along with all-wheel disc brakes, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and Tata’s latest i-RA connected tech suite. It also includes a rearview mirror with built-in DVR and an integrated dashcam function.

Tata has also confirmed that the Tata Harrier.ev is ready for both GNCAP and Bharat NCAP crash test protocols, although ratings are yet to be published. The Harrier.ev is available in four colour options—Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. Tata is also offering a Stealth Edition with a matte black finish and blacked-out elements.

Tata Harrier.ev – Segment Positioning and Rivals

The Tata Harrier.ev enters a space that will soon see more competition. Its immediate rival is the Mahindra XEV 9e. The introductory price of 21.49 lakh is for the base 65kWh RWD variant. Models like the rumoured Mahindra XEV 8e, an electric version of the XUV700, and Maruti’s e Vitara, expected to be a battery-powered alternative to the Grand Vitara. Both are set to join the midsize electric SUV segment soon and will go up against the Tata Harrier.ev.
