Mahindra XEV 9S – Exterior Design

There are no major exterior design changes to the Mahindra XEV 9S six seater compared to the seven seater version. It retains the same overall design, including the distinctive front end, connected lighting elements and muscular SUV stance. The six seater configuration is mainly differentiated by its cabin layout, with the exterior remaining unchanged.

Mahindra XEV 9S – Interior Design And Features

The cabin of the Mahindra XEV 9S continues with the same layout and equipment as the seven seater version. It gets a modern dashboard with triple 12.3-inch screens, leather upholstery and a spacious cabin focused on passenger comfort.

Features include rear AC vents and dual 65W USB charging ports for passengers in the rear rows. The cabin also gets multiple storage spaces and convenience features carried over from the seven seater variants.

The biggest change is the second row. The Mahindra XEV 9S six seater gets two individual captain seats instead of the bench seat offered in the seven seater. Each captain seat gets an individual armrest, which can be flipped up to create more space when accessing the third row. The gap between the two seats also makes getting in and out of the third row easier.

The additional floor space gives third row passengers more room to stretch their legs, improving overall comfort. The six seater configuration costs Rs 25,000 more than the equivalent seven seater version.

Mahindra XEV 9S – Battery And Powertrain

The Mahindra XEV 9S six seater is available with 70kWh and 79kWh battery packs, depending on the variant. All versions use a single rear mounted electric motor producing 380Nm of torque.

The 70kWh version is available with the Pack Two Above variant and produces 245hp. The 79kWh versions produce up to 286hp, depending on the variant.

The 70kWh battery offers a claimed range of up to 600km, while the 79kWh battery offers a claimed range of up to 679km. The 11.2kW AC charger is available separately and is not included in the prices listed below.

The Mahindra XEV 9S six seater is priced from Rs 25.25 lakh, ex showroom, for the Pack Two Above variant with the 70kWh battery. The Pack Two Above with the larger 79kWh battery is priced at Rs 26.15 lakh. The Pack Three with the 70kWh battery costs Rs 28.05 lakh, while the range topping Pack Three Above with the 79kWh battery is priced at Rs 30.15 lakh. These prices do not include the cost of the 11.2kW AC charger.

Mahindra XEV 9S – Market Positioning And Rivals

The six seater version gives buyers a more premium seating layout while retaining the existing electric powertrain options. The captain seats also make the Mahindra XEV 9S more practical for buyers who regularly use all three rows.

Its closest rival in terms of seating flexibility is the Kia Carens Clavis EV, which is also offered in both six and seven seat configurations. With the new seating option, the Mahindra XEV 9S expands its appeal in the electric SUV segment without significant changes to its exterior design or powertrain.

Tata Motors is all set to unveil the Tata Sierra EV on June 30th tomorrow. The Sierra nameplate made a comeback last year in the form of the ICE variant, and at the time of its reveal, Tata had confirmed that the Sierra EV would follow the next year. That timeline now aligns with 2026, making this unveil one of the most anticipated launches in the company’s portfolio.

This will be Tata’s fifth launch this year. The year began with the Punch ICE facelift, followed by the Punch EV facelift, and then the Tiago ICE and EV facelift models. The Sierra EV will now step in as a more premium offering in Tata’s growing electric lineup. Ahead of its unveil, Tata Motors has dropped multiple teasers on its social media handles, confirming several key details including Quad Wheel Drive (AWD), design elements and more.

Tata Sierra EV – Expected Exterior Design

Based on multiple spy shots and the teaser glimpses released by Tata Motors, the Tata Sierra EV is not expected to undergo major design changes compared to the ICE version. The overall dimensions are likely to remain similar, while the signature silhouette that made the Sierra stand out will continue to be its biggest design highlight. The upright stance, large glasshouse and clean proportions are all expected to be retained.

The EV, however, is expected to receive a few electric specific updates. The front grille is closed off in line with Tata’s EV design language, while the front and rear bumpers appeared to have subtle revisions to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The alloy wheels are also expected to feature a new design aimed at reducing drag. In the latest teaser, the EV almost identical to the ICE version, suggesting that Tata will focus on retaining the Sierra’s identity rather than making extensive cosmetic changes. A few new exterior colour options could also be introduced.

Tata Sierra EV – Expected Interior And Features

Inside, the Sierra EV is expected to carry forward the cabin layout from the ICE model. The biggest highlight is expected to be the triple screen setup consisting of a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3 inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3 inch passenger display. Lower variants are expected to feature a dual screen layout while still offering a head up display.

The feature list is expected to be extensive. Tata is likely to offer a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a 12 speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charging, rear sunshades, a powered tailgate, connected car technology and a comprehensive ADAS suite. These features will position the Sierra EV among the better equipped electric SUVs in its segment.

Tata Sierra EV – Expected Battery Pack And Range

The Sierra EV is expected to slot between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata’s electric vehicle portfolio. One of the biggest highlights confirmed through the teaser is the availability of QWD or Quad Wheel Drive, Tata Motors’ terminology for all wheel drive. A rear wheel drive version is also expected to be offered.

The Sierra EV is expected to be based on Tata’s acti.ev Plus architecture, the same platform that underpins the Harrier EV. This opens the possibility of the Sierra sharing battery pack options with its larger sibling.

The Harrier EV is available with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. The 65 kWh version produces 238 hp and 315 Nm of torque while offering a claimed range of 538 km. The larger 75 kWh battery develops up to 390 hp and 504 Nm of torque with a claimed range of up to 627 km in the rear wheel drive version and 622 km in the Quad Wheel Drive version.

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to offer similar battery options and competitive range figures, although the power output and tuning could be adjusted to suit its positioning. Official specifications will only be revealed at the time of the unveil.

Tata Sierra EV – Expected Price And Rivals

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. This would place it above the Curvv EV, which is priced between Rs 16.99 lakh and Rs 19.19 lakh, while sitting below the Harrier EV that is priced between Rs 21.49 lakh and Rs 28.99 lakh.

Once launched, the Tata Sierra EV will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and the Maruti e Vitara. Tata Motors could also consider introducing a Battery as a Service option for the Sierra EV, making the electric SUV more accessible to a wider range of buyers. With its distinctive design, premium features and the addition of Quad Wheel Drive (AWD), the Sierra EV is shaping up to be one of Tata Motors’ most significant launches of the year.

Citroen e-C3X – Exterior Design

Changes on the e-C3X over the outgoing e-C3 include projector LED headlamps carried over from the ICE model, redesigned 15 inch dual tone alloy wheels and electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors. It continues to feature V shaped LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, black cladding around the wheel arches and body, and halogen front fog lamps. The front and rear bumpers retain the same design and incorporate faux silver skid plates for a rugged appearance.

The all new e-C3X is offered in six monotone colours including Polar White, Steel Grey, Cosmo Blue, Perla Nera Black, Garnet Red and Deep Forest Green. It also offers 170 mm of ground clearance.

Citroen e-C3X – Interior Design and Features

Inside, the dashboard layout remains largely unchanged, but the 2026 e-C3X gets a new dual tone blue and beige cabin theme. The seats are now finished in leatherette upholstery, replacing the fabric seats offered earlier.

The e-C3X comes equipped with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a 7 inch TFT drivers display on offer. The cabin also features “Electric Blu” treatment and dual tone leatherette seats. Convenience features include a wireless phone charger and Connected Car Technology 2.0 with more than 40 features including remote access functions. Customers can also opt for an optional extra JBL audio system and a front and rear dashcam package, adding to the overall equipment list.

Citroen e-C3X – Battery Pack, Range and Charging

Powering the Citroen e-C3X is a 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 56 hp and 143 Nm of torque. Citroen claims an ARAI certified driving range of 320 km on a single charge.

The battery supports DC fast charging and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes. The e-C3X also gets regenerative braking to improve overall efficiency.

Citroen e-C3X – Safety Features

The e-C3X features a body structure made using more than 60 percent ultra high tensile and high tensile steel. Safety equipment includes, Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts with top tether, Speed sensitive auto door locks, High speed alert system and Optional dashcam based predictive safety package featuring lane departure warning, front vehicle distance alert and pedestrian and non motorized vehicle warning

Citroen e-C3X – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Citroen e-C3X is available in three variants: Live, Live (O) and Shine. Regular ex-showroom prices stand at Rs 11.99 lakh for the Live, Rs 12.35 lakh for the Live (O) and Rs 13.26 lakh for the range topping Shine variant.

Under the Battery as a Service (BaaS) ownership model, prices start at Rs 6.89 lakh for the Live variant, Rs 7.09 lakh for the Live (O) and Rs 8.30 lakh for the Shine variant with battery usage charged at Rs 2.26 per kilometre. Bookings are now open across the Citroen dealership network and on the official Citroen India website.

In terms of rivals, the Citroen e-C3X primarily competes with the Tata Punch EV. However, the BaaS pricing strategy also places it close to the Tata Tiago EV. While the Tiago EV is a hatchback, both models are similarly priced and similarly equipped, giving buyers more options in the affordable electric vehicle segment.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Exterior Design

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, was first revealed to the Indian Media and Public at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year. At the show MSIL gauged consumer response and also followed a series of dealer level showcases.

The e Vitara features conventional SUV styling and borrows a lot of styling cues from ICE sibling the Grand Vitara. It comes with a sculpted bonnet, a closed off front grille, and LED headlamps. The SUV feels clean and modern and not very radical like few other EVs out there. It measures in at 4,275mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,640mm in height.  A floating roof, and a sporty rear with connected taillamp, complete the look of the e SUV. The design feels appealing to both Indian buyers and export markets seeking a practical and conventional electric SUV.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Interior Design and Features

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara’s interior design and features are reported as seen on the model showcased during Bharat Mobility Show 2025. Features includde a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen that integrates infotainment and instrumentation, alongside a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin includes a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, rectangular AC vents with brushed silver accents, physical climate control buttons, and part-fabric, part-leatherette upholstery.

In terms of convenience and safety, the e Vitara offers an electronic parking brake with auto hold, three drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), single-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort features include ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and r 40:20:40 split rear seats.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Battery Pack

The launch coincides with the inauguration of local hybrid battery electrode production at TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant in Gujarat, a joint venture between Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki. With this, over 80% of the battery’s value will now be manufactured within India.

During BMS 2025, Maruti said the e Vitara for India will be offered with two battery options, a 49kWh option and a 61kWh option. Both packs use BYD-sourced LFP ‘blade’ cells. The 49kWh version comes paired with a front-axle-mounted motor producing 143hp, while the larger 61kWh unit delivers 173hp. Torque output remains identical at 192.5Nm for both variants. While Maruti has yet to disclose exact figures, the company claims the 61kWh battery will provide an MIDC-certified range of over 500km.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Safety Features

Safety remains a core focus in the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The vehicle is equipped with seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a reinforced body structure. Level 2 Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control, further enhance driver and passenger safety.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Market Positioning

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is strategically positioned to meet rising global demand for electric SUVs. By combining range, performance, and modern features, the SUV targets environmentally conscious buyers seeking a practical yet stylish electric vehicle. Its export-ready design demonstrates India’s capability to produce BEVs for both domestic use and international markets.

The Honorable Prime Minister also added “Today is a special day in India’s quest for self-reliance and being a hub for green mobility. At the programme in Hansalpur, e-VITARA will be flagged off. This Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is made in India and will be exported to over a hundred nations. In a big boost to our battery ecosystem, production of hybrid battery electrodes will also commence at a plant in Gujarat.”

In the expanding electric SUV segment, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara competes with models such as the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier.ev & Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV and few Variants of the BYD ATTO 3. Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Battery Pack and Performance

The Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 now come with two battery configurations: 59 kWh and the newly introduced 79 kWh. These promise estimated city driving ranges of 400 km and 500 km respectively. The 79 kWh variant also supports ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger. The smaller pack uses a 140 kW DC charger. The XEV 9e hits 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds, while the BE6 does the sprint in 6.7 seconds. The XEV 9e tops out at 202 kmph.

In terms of power, the 79 kWh models deliver 281 hp, while the 59 kWh versions produce 227 hp. Other features include adaptive cruise control, multi-step regeneration with Auto Mode, one-pedal drive, and variable gear ratio steering.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Pricing and Booking Updates

The ex-showroom pricing structure for Pack Two is as follows:

1. BE6 59 kWh – ₹21.90 lakh
2. BE6 79 kWh – ₹23.50 lakh
3. XEV 9e 59 kWh – ₹24.90 lakh
4. XEV 9e 79 kWh – ₹26.50 lakh

Prices do not include charger and installation costs. Customers can choose between 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW charging units at additional cost. Mahindra is also offering existing customers the option to upgrade their bookings to the newer 79 kWh models. The new 79 kWh battery pack comes at a ₹1.60 lakh premium for both the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Exterior Design

The design of both Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 maintains a futuristic and distinctive coupe design language. Key exterior features include, Bi-LED headlamps with sequential turn indicators, exterior cladding with illuminated Mahindra logos, Fixed glass infinity roof, 19-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, Centre connected DRL on XEV 9e.

Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 – Interior and Infotainment Features

The Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 Pack Two models receive key interior enhancements. The BE6 now gets – sage leatherette seats and an ivory roof lining from Pack Three, offering a more premium feel in the cabin.

Shared interior features across both models include: 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, Dual or Triple-screen layouts (XEV 9e gets 3x 31.24 cm displays), Built-in OTT, shopping, and social media apps, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 5G connectivity and wireless phone charging, Amazon Alexa integration, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) mounts for second-row passengers.

In addition to infotainment and safety, Mahindra’s Pack Two offerings cover comfort details thoroughly with features like Push button start, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers, Tilt and telescopic steering, Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, Cooled centre console storage, 65W fast Type-C charging in both rows, 60:40 split and reclining second-row seats. The Mahindra XEV 9e offers a boot space 663 litres and frunk space 150 litres, while the BE6 offers a 455 litre boot and a smaller 45 litre frunk space.

Safety continues to be a focus area in the Mahindra XEV 9e & BE6 Pack Two, with a comprehensive suite of features – 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS with radar and camera integration, Brake-by-wire and intelligent electronic booster, Rear HD parking camera with front & rear sensors, TPMS with individual tyre readouts, Auto defogger, cornering lamps, and laminated acoustic glass.
