Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift – Exterior Design

The updated Mercedes-Benz GLS continues with its imposing road presence but now carries a sharper and more modern design language. At the front, the grille gets a revised pattern with more intricate detailing that aligns it closer to the latest global Mercedes design identity. The bumper has been heavily reworked with larger air intakes, giving the SUV a more assertive stance.

The headlamps now feature updated tri-arrow LED signatures which make the SUV instantly recognizable. Along the sides, the changes are minimal, retaining the long and upright silhouette that defines the GLS as a proper full size luxury SUV. However, new alloy wheel designs add a fresh touch. At the rear, the tail lamps receive new internal detailing with tri-arrow LED signatures and feature a connected design, and the bumper is slightly tweaked to enhance the overall width of the SUV.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift – Interior Design and Features

Step inside, and the biggest highlight is the introduction of the new 12.3 inch super screen, which significantly enhances the cabin experience. The dashboard layout now feels more digital and immersive, bringing it closer to the newer generation Mercedes models. The super screen integrates infotainment and driver display seamlessly, offering better graphics, quicker response times, and more customization options.

Materials used in the cabin include premium leather, wood trims, and ambient lighting that elevates the luxury quotient. The GLS continues to be offered as a three row SUV with seating in the second row for three and in the third row for two passengers. Feature additions include updated infotainment software, improved connectivity options, and enhanced driver assistance systems. Mercedes has also worked on refining the user interface to make interactions more intuitive.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift – Powertrain Options

Globally, the facelifted GLS will continue with a wide range of engine options catering to different markets. The flagship GLS 580 is powered by a V8 petrol engine which delivers strong performance and effortless acceleration, making it one of the most powerful offerings in its segment. Alongside it is the GLS 450, which uses a six cylinder petrol engine For diesel lovers, Mercedes offers the GLS 350d and the GLS 450d. These engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmissions and all wheel drive systems.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift – India Launch and Expected Pricing

The updated GLS is expected to make its way to India sometime next year, although an official launch timeline has not yet been confirmed. When launched, it will continue to rival the likes of the BMW X7 in the full size luxury SUV space. As for pricing, the current GLS is priced between ₹1.3 crore and ₹1.37 crore ex showroom, and the facelifted model is expected to carry a slight premium over this range due to the added features and updates.
