MG Select Models Unaffected

The company has clarified that the price hike will not impact its MG Select range. Currently, this includes the Cyberster, a two door electric sports car, and the M9 luxury EV. These models will continue to be offered at their existing prices, at least for now.

This exemption highlights MG’s strategy to position its premium electric offerings differently within its portfolio.

Current MG Lineup and Pricing

JSW MG Motor India currently retails a diverse range of vehicles in the Indian market across segments.

The Comet EV, which serves as the brand’s most affordable electric offering, is priced between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh ex showroom, excluding the base variant. The Astor mid size SUV is available from Rs 9.7 lakh to Rs 15.3 lakh ex showroom.

In the electric SUV space, the Windsor EV is priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 18.5 lakh ex showroom, while the ZS EV is positioned higher, ranging from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 20.5 lakh ex showroom, both excluding their respective base variants.

The Hector has its prices ranging from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh ex showroom. The Hector Plus, offering additional seating and features, is priced between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh ex showroom. At the top end, the Gloster remains MG’s flagship SUV in India, with prices ranging from Rs 38.33 lakh to Rs 43.16 lakh ex showroom. The model is expected to be replaced in the coming months by the MG Majestor, which was unveiled earlier this year.

Reason Behind the Price Increase by MG

MG has stated that the price revision is a necessary step to address rising input costs. Like several other automakers, the company is facing increased expenses related to raw materials, logistics, and overall production.

In its official communication, the company said, “customers are encouraged to contact their nearest MG dealerships or visit the official MG India website to stay updated on model specific pricing.”
