Tata launched RED Dark editions of SUV lineup; ADAS offered

Tata Motors has launched the RED Dark editions of their SUV lineup consisting of the Nexon, Harrier and Safari. Additions include RED Dark motifs and unique red touches along with a slightly upgraded equipment list.

Tata Nexon RED Dark

Based on the top end XZ+ Lux(S) trim, Nexon RED Dark edition mainly gets cosmetic bits such as blacked out logos and red trims on the exterior. Further it gets 16 inch Blackstone alloy wheels while the exterior gets finished in a shade of Oberon Black. Inside, changes include a carnelian red theme for the seats along with a blacked-out Tata logo on the steering.

There are no mechanical changes under the hood and the Nexon RED Dark continues to be powered by either a 1.2L turbo-petrol or 1.5L diesel engine. These are paired to a choice of a 6 speed MT or 5 speed AMT transmissions. Prices start from Rs. 12.35 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Tata Harrier RED Dark

The Harrier and Safari RED Dark editions get a much more comprehensive makeover with the inclusion of more equipment. The cars come finished in an Oberon Black exterior shade along with red brake calipers, red trim on the front grille as well as #Dark logos outside. Inside, they get carnelian red seats with a Steel Black dashboard. In terms of equipment, the Harrier siblings get a new 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 360 surround camera as well as a new fully-digital instrument cluster.

However, the highlight of the Harrier and Safari RED Dark editions is the inclusion of ADAS which includes a host of features such as Auto Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic alert,  Lane Departure warning etc. They also get 6 way electric seats for the driver.

The Safari gets a few more features on top of the ones offered on the Harrier such as a 4 way electric co-driver seat with boss mode and second-row head restraint cushions. It also receives red ambient lighting over the red door handles and on the panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood, both cars remain unchanged and remain powered by a 2.0L Diesel engine paired to a 6 speed MT or a 6 speed Torque Converter automatic. Prices start at Rs. 21.77 Lakh and Rs. 22.61 Lakh (Ex-showroom) for the Harrier and Safari respectively.
