Tata has completed the production of 4 Lakh units of Nexon, their compact SUV. To commemorate this occasion they have also announced the introduction of a new XZ+(L) variant as well.
The Nexon was introduced in late 2017 and received a facelift in 2020 with updated styling and a longer feature list. Since then Tata has also launched an EV variant with a CNG powered variant speculated to arrive soon. The Nexon has consistently been one of the top sellers of its segment and crossed the milestone of 3,00,000 vehicles only seven months ago.
The new XZ+(L) variant introduced today will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options with a choice of manual and AMT transmissions. It gets features such as wireless charging, ventilated seats, air purifier and an auto-diming IRVM among others. The XZ+(L) will also be available in Dark Edition trim with black exteriors and interiors. The starting price has been kept at Rs. 11,37,000 (Ex-showroom).
The Tata Nexon is available with a 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel powertrains besides its EV version. It competes with rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger and Hyundai Venue with a starting price of Rs. 7.59 Lakhs. The Nexon was also the 4th highest selling model in India last month with over 15,000 units sold.
