Tata has launched an updated version of their electric compact sedan, the Tigor EV. Stylized as “Tigor.ev”, it receives a new colour option, better range and more equipment.
Performance
Talking of performance, the Tigor EV now gets a reworked 26kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified 315Km range. This is a slight improvement over the current model’s 306Km. Power and torque figures remain the same at 74HP and 170NM. It comes with DC fast charging which can juice up from 10% to 80% SoC in 59 minutes.
Equipment
In terms of equipment, the updated Tigor EV receives additions like leatherette upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps. Also of offer will be iTPMS, smartwatch connectivity, tyre puncture repair kit and connected car technology which will come standard. Other features include an 8 speaker Harman sound system, 4 stage regen, projector headlamps etc. In terms of safety, the Tigor EV gets a 4 star Global NCAP crash test rating, Dual airbags+ABS and CSC and a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines.
Tata will also be rolling out features such as Multi-Mode Regeneration, iTPMS and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit to existing owners free of cost. Existing owners can contact their service centres to get the software update. Furthermore, customers who already have XZ+ and XZ+ Dual tone variants can also get smartwatch connectivity for free starting from 20th December 2022.
Pricing
The updated Tigor EV is available in a new Magnetic Red shade besides the existing Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey options. Four variants are offered- XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. Prices start at Rs.12.49 Lakhs(Ex-showroom) for the XE variant going all the way till Rs. 13.75 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) for the top end XZ+ LUX variant. There are no direct rivals for the Tigor EV and it competes directly with its siblings- the Tiago EV and Nexon EV.
