Toyota has launched the Glanza CNG today. It will be available in two trims with prices starting at Rs. 8.43 Lakhs. Toyota has also announced the commencement of bookings for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder which will be launched soon.
The Glanza, which is the rebadged version of Maruti’s Baleno gets powered by a 1.2L K Series engine and a 5 speed MT. Although it is also available with the option of an AMT, that has not been offered with the CNG-fueled variants. The engine now produces 76HP when running on CNG. Toyota boasts of a fuel economy figure of 30.61Km/Kg for it. Boot space is also expected to be compromised due to the addition of the CNG tank. There are no further changes to the Glanza CNG compared to its pure petrol counterpart.
The Glanza CNG is available in the two middle trims- S and G priced at Rs. 8.43 Lakhs and Rs. 9.46 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) respectively.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG
Toyota has also announced that it will be taking bookings for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG. It will be available with a K15C 1.5L K-series engine along with a 5 speed MT. While the power output has not been made public, expect a slight decrease in figures. Toyota claims an efficiency of 26.1 Km/Kg on CNG. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder shares underpinnings with the Maruti Grand Vitara and comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, projector LED headlamps, 17 inch alloys, ventilated seats and more. It competes with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor among others.
