Maruti has launched an updated version of its entry-level crossover, the S-Presso. It gets an updated engine along with a few new features.
The S-Presso is now powered by an updated K10C Dualjet engine, also shared with the Celerio. It now produces 66HP and 89NM which is down by 1HP and 1NM from before. However, with this update, Maruti claims that the fuel economy has gone up to 25.3 Kmpl for the AGS versions and 24.7Kmpl for the MT which is 17% and 14% higher respectively. It also gets a new idle start/stop feature that shuts off the engine while staying idle for extended periods of time to reduce fuel consumption.
On the safety front, Maruti has also introduced ESP and Hill Hold Assist as standard on the AGS equipped versions. Electrically adjustable ORVMs have also been made available in the top VXI+ and VXI+(O) variants. There is a new cabin air filter on offer as well. The S-Presso also gets features such as a Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system and Suzuki Connect with functions such as geo-fencing, location sharing etc.
The new S-Presso’s pricing now starts at Rs. 4.25 Lakhs for the base Std MT variant. The price list is given below
The new S-Presso competes with other entry-level hatchbacks such as the Renault Kwid and Maruti WagonR. It is now available through Maruti’s Arena network of dealerships.
