Porsche is a carmaker well-known to make some of the most iconic stuff of all time. And what could be more characteristically Porsche than the 911 range? We had the opportunity to try out every flavour of the 911 right from the standard, purist Carerra, to the GTS Hybrid— a true marvel of technology topping it up with the enthusiast favourite GT3RS. That’s not all though. The tasty GT4RS, arguably a more nimble and agile track weapon also made an appearance as did the full range of modern electrics, including the Taycan and Macan EVs.

However, before I talk about the track, Porsche had a surprise waiting for us. Our first task for the day— taking the Cayenne range of SUVs off-road! With a curated off-road track with obstacles such as chicken holes, steep climbs, banking angles and more, the Cayenne frankly felt extremely capable. Now who would think a Porsche would perform so well off the beaten path?

Next up was the track day, a marvellous two laps in the EVs, 911s and the GT4RS each felt surreal. Now, each car was incredibly fun although I still felt more of a connect with the purist favourite Carrera. There’s just something about an unadulterated experience that truly stands out. A simply flat-six, comfortable suspension yet with the raunchy looks, the oh-so-tight handling and the ability to go really fast. The GT3RS was a whole different spectrum however. A track weapon like none-else, one simply wonders how it could be bettered in the next avatar? It’s a bit too perfect— even for a Porsche! Something to ponder about.

A quick briefing later, it was time to experience the glory of electrification with the Taycan Turbo GT. Holding the title of the fastest production electric on the Yas Marina Circuit, Dubai, the 2.2 second 0-100kmph time sounds unrealistic. But when the car squats down preparing to launch itself, you realise it means business. Oh and business it meant. With an absolute razor sharp response, its speed feels like it might just beat the latest Apollo spacecraft. There must be some sorcery involved in developing the technology behind it!

The last task for the day was a quick slalom course in the 718 Spyder RS. While just recovering from the bone-tingling Turbo GT run, it provides a completely different perspective. That of absolute precision and how Porsche makes such good-handling cars. It’s not a small car, but it feels like driving a motorcycle— so quick on its feet. A bit sad though that the course got over much before I wanted to let go of the car!

Concluding the day with an extensive shoot of the entire lineup, it felt a bit of an iconic day. Just like the Porsche brand is etched in every enthusiasts mind worldwide, here I was getting to experience the DNA one car at a time.

The CNG kit has been developed and supplied to Nissan by Motozen, a third-party vendor. Installation of the CNG kit will be carried out at government-authorised fitment centres. The package includes a 3-year or 1,00,000 km warranty on the CNG components. Duly to be noted, the warranty on the components of the CNG kit will be provided by Motozen and not Nissan India.

Nissan Magnite CNG – Design

The design of the Nissan Magnite CNG stays the same as the facelift that was launched a few months ago. It still gets the large dual-tone front grille, which gives the car a bold look, along with the sharp-looking LED bi-projector headlamps and lightsaber-style turn indicators. The floating skid plate adds a bit of SUV character, even though it’s mostly for looks. On the sides, the 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels remain unchanged, as do the functional roof rails. At the rear, the LED tail lamps with a 3D honeycomb effect continue to stand out. Overall, the design hasn’t been altered for the Nissan Magnite CNG, but it still looks modern and well-put-together for its segment.

As per the announcement, the retrofitment will initially be available across seven states: Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. Nissan has stated that nationwide availability will follow in a phased rollout.

Nissan Magnite CNG – Engine & Performance

While official fuel efficiency figures for the Nissan Magnite CNG  have not been disclosed by Nissan, CNG vehicles typically offer lower running costs and reduced emissions compared to petrol-only models. We cannot comment on the boot-space as those numbers have not been made official by Nissan. There are no mechanical changes to the petrol engine apart from the addition of the CNG system. It continues to put out 71hp and 96Nm of torque. The Magnite has an unladen ground clearance of 205mm. The other engine on offer is a 1.0 turbo-petrol unit which puts out 100hp and 160Nm of peak torque. The turbo-petrol can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT.

Nissan Magnite CNG – Interior & Features

On the inside the Nissan Magnite CNG remains unchanged, you get a moderately sized 8-inch touchscreen full with wireless connectivity to Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Magnite also offers leather seats and leather trim such as leather wrapped steering wheel and door-pads finished in leather on higher spec variants. Further complementing the interior is an option of multi-colour ambient lighting. From a safety standpoint, the Magnite is equipped with 6 airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, hydraulic brake assist, ABS, EBD and auto-dimming IRVM as safety features.

Nissan Magnite CNG – Segment Positioning & Rivals

The Nissan Magnite CNG will compete with factory-fitted CNG offerings from rivals such as the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter and the recently launched Citroen C3 CNG, as well as retrofitted options in the compact SUV and hatchback segments. The Tata Punch CNG is priced from ₹7.29 lakh to ₹10.17 lakh ex-showroom, whereas the Hyundai Exter CNG and Citroen C3 CNG are priced between ₹7.50 lakh to ₹9.53 lakh and ₹6.23 lakh and ₹8.15 lakh ex-showroom, respectively. Bookings for the Nissan Magnite CNG are now open across all authorised Nissan dealerships in India. Interested customers can also reserve the car online through the company’s official website. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.

The Golf GTI has been a staple in the hot-hatch segment globally since 1976, building a legacy of performance, practicality, and driver engagement. Known for its daily usability paired with sporty characteristics, the car has built a strong enthusiast following across markets. Volkswagen’s decision to bring the Golf GTI to India, despite its niche appeal, signals a renewed interest in offering performance-oriented products to a discerning customer base.

Golf GTI – Engine & Performance

At the heart of the Golf GTI is a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine, producing 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), with power sent exclusively to the front wheels. Volkswagen claims the Golf GTI can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, a figure that places it among the quicker hatchbacks available in India.

While the specifications are impressive, what truly defines the Golf GTI is the way it drives. The car is built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform and is known for its balanced handling, sharp steering, and agility. The front-wheel-drive layout combined with an electronic limited-slip differential (VAQ) and adaptive chassis control ensures a dynamic yet controlled driving experience.

Golf GTI – Design

The Golf GTI retains the classic design cues that fans of the GTI badge have come to appreciate. The illuminated front VW badge, signature red stripe across the grille, and X-shaped LED fog lamps set it apart from the standard Golf. The sporty bumper design, GTI badging on the grille, front doors, and tailgate, and the aggressive stance all contribute to the car’s visual appeal.

The India-spec model comes equipped with 18-inch Richmond alloy wheels finished in gloss black with red brake calipers, adding to the performance-oriented theme. From a styling standpoint, the Golf GTI manages to balance modern aggression with heritage cues.

Golf GTI – Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, the Golf GTI is tech-laden. It features a 12.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The layout is clean and driver-focused, with minimal physical buttons. The flat-bottomed leather-wrapped steering wheel with GTI-specific red stitching, aluminium gear selector, and stainless-steel pedals all contribute to the sporty character.

A standout feature is the tartan-pattern cloth upholstery – a traditional element for the GTI – now updated with Volkswagen’s new “Scalepaper” design. The ambient lighting system offers 30 configurable colours, enhancing the cabin’s mood. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, heated seats with lumbar support, progressive steering, IDA voice control, and auto-dimming rear-view mirrors. A feature that is sorely missed for a car at this price point is electric seats with memory functions.

Golf GTI – Safety Features

On the safety front, the Golf GTI comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS features such as lane change assist, rear traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking. It also gets seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a rear-view camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Volkswagen has clearly ensured that the Indian-spec Golf GTI meets global safety standards.

Golf GTI – Segment Positioning and Rivals

Volkswagen has allocated just 150 units of the Golf or India in its first batch. All of these have already been sold out. However, the company has confirmed that more units may be brought in depending on customer demand and response. It is being offered in four exterior shades: Kings Red Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, Moonstone Grey, and Grenadilla Black Metallic.

The closest rival to the Golf GTI in India is the Mini Cooper JCW, which is priced at ₹55.90 lakh ex-showroom. While the Mini carries similar performance credentials, it comes with a more lifestyle-oriented image. Another indirect rival is the Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4MATIC, though it sits in a much higher price bracket at ₹94.80 lakh, making the Golf a more accessible performance hatch in comparison.

Golf GTI – Verdict

Volkswagen’s decision to bring back the GTI badge through the Golf reflects a growing niche for performance hatchbacks in India. Despite its premium pricing and limited availability, the strong demand suggests there remains a loyal enthusiast base willing to pay a premium for badge heritage and driving pleasure. With its engaging dynamics, well-equipped cabin, and iconic status, the Golf may just have found a sweet spot in India’s evolving automotive landscape

The Carens Clavis is offered with three engine options. The base powertrain is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The second is a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 160 PS and 253 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Diesel buyers get a 1.5-litre CRDi engine that develops 116 PS and 250 Nm, offered with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The exterior of the Clavis carries over the familiar MPV proportions but gets a cleaner, more upright design. It features Kia’s new ‘Digital Tiger Face’ grille, LED headlamps, and connected ‘Starmap’ tail-lamps at the rear. 17-inch alloy wheels and satin chrome highlights help distinguish it from the standard Carens. Inside, there’s a sharper cabin layout with a new dual-screen setup that combines infotainment and the driver’s display into a single panel. Features like a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and a BOSE 8-speaker audio system are included in the higher variants.

In terms of safety, Kia has introduced Level 2 ADAS on select variants, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and front collision avoidance. Standard safety features across variants include six airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and hill-start assist.

The Carens Clavis is available in seven variants – HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX, and HTX+ – with both 6- and 7-seater layouts depending on the trim. Prices range from ₹11.49 lakh for the base petrol manual to ₹21.49 lakh for the top-end turbo-petrol DCT in HTX+ guise.

It competes with models like the Maruti XL6, Toyota Innova Crysta and Hyundai Alcazar. Kia aims to market the Clavis to customers looking for more tech, more features, and a more upmarket design, while the standard Carens continues to serve those prioritising value and function.

Mechanically, the Altroz continues with the same powertrains: the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine (88 PS, 115 Nm), the segment-exclusive 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel (90 PS, 200 Nm), and a 1.2-litre iCNG variant (74 PS, 103 Nm in CNG mode) with a twin-cylinder layout that frees up usable boot space. Where the facelift makes a crucial change is in the transmission options — the Altroz now offers a 5-speed AMT on the petrol variant, in addition to DCA (dual-clutch automatic).

Visually, the Altroz facelift features updated LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a reworked front grille and bumper, flush-fitting illuminated door handles, and connected LED tail-lamps. The updates bring the design more in line with Tata’s newer models while retaining the Altroz’s familiar overall profile.

Inside, the Altroz receives a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. Other additions include ambient lighting, a redesigned steering wheel with an illuminated logo as seen on other Tata cars.

Tata is offering the Altroz facelift in 7 variants Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, Accomplished S and Accomplished +S. Prices vary depending on the engine and transmission, with the range topping out at ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully loaded petrol DCT. It is available in five exterior colour options: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Royal Blue, Ember Glow, and Dune Glow.

In terms of safety, the Altroz builds on its reputation as one of the safest hatchbacks in India. The pre-facelift model was awarded a 5-star rating by Global NCAP, and the updated version now includes six airbags and electronic stability control as standard across all variants.

We speculate that a Dark Edition is expected to join the lineup at a later stage, based on Tata’s existing strategy across its model range. Competitors include the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.

The Honda X-ADV 750 is a crossover between an adventure motorcycle and a maxi-scooter that blends chunky off-road looks with city-friendly convenience. It gets a unique look with dual LED headlights that come equipped with integrated DRLs and turn signals. Honda have claimed to have re-designed the seat to improve ground reach and rider comfort. A 22-litre under-seat storage space is available to complement its practicality, and there is a USB Type-C charging port incorporated into it. The 5-inch full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync app connectivity for call, message, navigation, and music control on the move will also find favour with riders. The X-ADV comes in two colours – Pearl Glare White and Graphite Black.

The X-ADV also features throttle-by-wire with four pre-set riding modes—Standard, Sport, Rain, and Gravel. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) is fitted as standard, along with cruise control, to add long-distance comfort and control.

The motorcycle is built on a tubular steel frame chassis with 41mm USD front switch and rear mono-shock with preload adjust. The braking system includes  dual radial-mounted four-piston callipers with 296mm discs at front and a 240mm disc with single-piston calliper at rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. The X-ADV has a 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wheel combination, both wire-spoked and Honda claims they are suitable for light trail duty.

Honda has fitted the X-ADV with a 745cc SOHC liquid-cooled 8-valve parallel-twin engine that delivers 58.6 PS at 6,750 rpm and 69 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. Power is transmitted using a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) also seen on the likes of the Honda Africa Twin Motorcycle.

Honda X-ADV’s direct competitor in India is the BMW C400 GT, which is priced at ₹11.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the BMW develops 33.5 hp from a 350cc single cylinder engine. Although the BMW is aimed at premium urban commuters, the larger displacement, adventure bike design, and DCT of the Honda make it a more all-round and VFM package.

The Access 125 continues with the 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which produces 8.3 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The scooter is OBD2-compliant and remains among the lighter offerings in the segment with a kerb weight of 106 kg. Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency figure of approximately 45 kmpl, depending on riding conditions.

The new Ride Connect TFT Edition also debuts a Pearl Mat Aqua Silver paint scheme. The overall design remains unchanged, and practical features like an external fuel filler cap, under-seat storage, and front utility hooks continue to be offered.

The heavily updated Access launched earlier this year, and the TFT Edition enhances Suzuki’s digital offering in the Access range, but it enters a competitive segment that includes the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Hero Destini 125. While the colour TFT unit is a welcome addition, features like keyless start and a full LED lighting setup, which some competitors offer, are still missing.

The 2025 Suzuki Access 125 Ride Connect TFT Edition is a minor refresh with a new instrument panel and a new colour scheme. Suzuki claims that it refines the rider’s experience the fundamental mechanicals of the scooter remain the same. For consumers wanting a stable and reliable with a digital instrument cluster, the Access 125 Ride Connect TFT makes a strong case for itself.

The Avenis continues to use the 124.3cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 8.7 PS at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Suzuki’s SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology is carried over, aimed at optimizing fuel efficiency without sacrificing everyday performance. The engine is paired with a CVT and the scooter weighs in at 106 kg — on par with most of its segment rivals.

Feature-wise, there are no drastic changes. The scooter continues to sport its LED headlight and tail light, a digital instrument cluster, and features such as an external fuel filler, USB charging point, and side-stand engine kill. It retains the same 21.8-litre under-seat storage space.

The styling is still mostly unchanged, carrying on with its youthful looks and a slightly more motorcyle-like appearance. The Standard model comes in four color schemes: Glossy Sparkle Black / Pearl Glacier White, Glossy Sparkle Black / Pearl Mira Red, Champion Yellow No. 2 / Glossy Sparkle Black, and a single-tone Glossy Sparkle Black.

With this refresh, the Avenis still goes head-to-head against the TVS Ntorq 125, Yamaha Ray ZR 125, Honda Grazia, and Hero Maestro Edge 125. While the Avenis stands out for its lightweight packaging and digital features, rivals like the Ntorq offer more power and additional features such as connected tech and voice assist.

According to Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India Limited— the company plans to introduced upto 26 new launches in the next five years which includes updates and facelifts of the current lineup as well as completely new products. Out of the total 26 launches being considered, 20 are likely to be ICE with the other 6 being EVs. Additionally, Hyundai also plans to introduce Hybrid technology in their future products.

Furthermore, Hyundai also released some interesting statistics. It says in rural markets, more than 67% of sales are from its SUV range. It also says the new Talegaon plant will commence operation in this financial year which will boost production capacity to meet the future projected growth.

As of this month, Hyundai sells a lineup of 13 products in India ranging from hatchbacks like the Grand i10 NIOS to SUVs such as the Tucson and Alcazar.

While the power figures have not been revealed for the CNG, the 1.2 Petrol produces 80 hp and 115 Nm of torque and is mated to 5 speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels. The C3 CNG continues with standard features its Petrol counterpart offers. Key features include LED DRLs, 15-inch steel wheels with covers, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, remote keyless entry. Safety is covered with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD.

Boot capacity remains unchanged, the spare wheel remains accessible, and the CNG nozzle has been discreetly incorporated into the petrol filler point. To compensate for the extra weight, Citroen claims to have re-engineered the rear suspension with strengthened springs, calibrated dampers, and an anti-roll bar.

The kit is installed by company-authorized dealers. The C3 CNG kit will be offered at an additional price of INR 93,000 over the variant it is based on. The brand also offers a standard 3-year/100,000 km car warranty, including coverage for CNG parts.

The Citroen C3, competes with established rivals such as the Tata Punch CNG and Hyundai Exter CNG in the Micro SUV segment, from the hatchback segment the C3 takes on the much more economical Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG.
