Including exports of 13,300 units, the brand’s total monthly sales stood at 61,137 units. This represents an overall growth of 4.1% compared to the same period last year, highlighting consistent demand across both domestic and international markets.

The company has also started the new financial year on a strong note. In the first two months of FY27, April and May, the compnay registered domestic sales of 99,739 units. This is a 13 percent increase over the 88,235 units sold during the same period in the previous financial year.

Hyundai India Sales Report May 2026 – Verna and Exter Facelift

Hyundai’s recent product updates have played a key role in sustaining this growth. Over the past few months, the brand has introduced updated versions of some of its key models including the facelifted Verna and Exter. In addition, Hyundai also launched a new variant of its best selling SUV, the Creta, in the form of the Summer Edition, aimed at enhancing value and appeal for buyers. The Grand i10 Nios also received a minor variant update by the newly introduced ‘Vibe Edition”.

Hyundai has also strengthened its brand presence through large scale initiatives and partnerships. As part of its 30 year celebrations in India, the company recently organised the Great India Drive, a long distance journey that covered a scenic route from Kochi in Kerala to Land’s End at Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu. Earlier in the year, Hyundai was also associated with the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup in March as an official sponsor. These initiatives have played a key role in enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement, further supporting the company’s strong sales performance.

Hyundai India Sales Report May 2026 – Comment from CEO

Commenting on May 2026 sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said:
“Hyundai Motor India has continued its strong momentum of the year into May as well, achieving domestic sales of 47,837 units with 9.1% YoY growth and total sales of 61,137 units with 4.1% YoY growth. In the first two months (April and May) of FY27, HMIL witnessed domestic sales rise by 13% to 99,739 units, compared to 88,235 units in the same period of FY26.”

With a refreshed portfolio and steady export contribution, Hyundai continues to strengthen its position in the Indian market while maintaining a healthy growth trajectory.

The update focuses on sharpening the Verna’s styling while enhancing the technology inside the cabin. Powertrain options however remain unchanged with both naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines continuing in the lineup.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Exterior Design

The Hyundai Verna Facelift carries forward its distinctive silhouette but now gets several exterior enhancements that give it a sharper and more modern look. Hyundai has introduced a new black chrome radiator grille that dominates the front fascia and adds a stronger road presence. This is paired with redesigned dual LED projector headlamps which now sit within a refreshed lighting signature. The front bumper has also been redesigned to appear more aggressive and sculpted.

In terms of proportions the Verna continues to lead the segment with its size. It measures 4565 mm in length and offers the longest wheelbase in the segment at 2670 mm. With a width of 1765 mm it also stands as the widest sedan in the segment which contributes to improved cabin space and stability.

Moving to the sides the overall profile remains familiar with its coupe inspired sloping roofline and flowing body lines. At the front the connected LED DRL strip continues to stretch across the width of the car which has become a defining design element of the Verna.

At the rear Hyundai has revised the bumper design along with a new rear diffuser element which gives the sedan a slightly sportier stance. The alloy wheels have also been redesigned and now come as 16 inch diamond cut units.

The facelift also introduces two new exterior colours which are Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte. These join the existing palette which includes Starry Night, Titanium Black, Titan Grey, Atlas White and Atlas White with a black roof dual tone option.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Interior Design and Features

Inside the cabin the biggest highlight is the introduction of a new dual screen layout. The Verna now gets two 10.25 inch displays placed side by side which form the infotainment system and the digital driver display. This setup is among the largest in the segment and gives the cabin a more modern cockpit like layout.

Technology features continue to be a strong point for the Verna. It now offers a surround view monitor which is a segment first along with a blind spot view monitor. Other key features include wireless smartphone charging wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay front ventilated seats and an electric sunroof.

Hyundai has also added a brand new D-cut steering wheel and leatherette seat upholstery. The driver seat is electrically adjustable with eight way adjustment and also gets a segment first memory function along with a welcome retract feature. The passenger seat is electrically adjustable with four way adjustment and also includes a segment first passenger walk in device for easier access.

Comfort features have also been expanded with a segment first rear window sunshade and a smart trunk function. The boot space stands at 528 litres which is among the largest in the segment. Connected technology is handled through Hyundai Bluelink which now offers more than 70 connected car features. These include functions like Find My Car through surround view monitor remote lamp control and remote light only control along with over 350 voice commands and multi language interface support.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Powertrain Options

The Hyundai Verna Facelift continues with two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, it is paired with either a six speed manual gearbox or a CVT transmission.

The second option is the more powerful 1.5 litre turbo GDI petrol engine which produces 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a six speed manual gearbox or a seven speed dual clutch transmission.

To enhance the driving experience the sedan also offers paddle shifters drive modes which include Normal Eco and Sport along with idle stop and go technology. While the power figures remain unchanged the turbo engine continues to be one of the most powerful options in the segment.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Safety Features

Safety remains another key highlight of the updated Verna. The sedan now offers Level 2 ADAS with 20 driver assistance features which enhance both active safety and driver convenience.

A major addition is the introduction of seven airbags on the top variant which is a segment first. Across the range the car comes standard with six airbags. Hyundai has also introduced a factory fitted dashcam which is again a segment first feature in this category.

The Hyundai Verna Facelift also includes a long list of standard safety equipment such as ABS with EBD electronic stability control hill start assist rear parking sensors ISOFIX mounts three point seatbelts for all passengers and seatbelt reminders for all seats. Other features include tyre pressure monitoring system, rain sensing wipers, electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Variants and Pricing

The Hyundai Verna Facelift is offered in multiple variants including HX2, HX4 , HX6, HX6 Plus,  HX8 and HX10. Pricing starts at ₹10.98 lakh ex showroom for the base 1.5 MPi manual variant. The naturally aspirated petrol lineup with IVT transmission goes up to ₹17.15 lakh while the turbo petrol manual variant is priced at ₹16.28 lakh.

The top of the line turbo petrol with the seven speed DCT transmission is priced at ₹18.25 lakh ex showroom making it the most expensive version in the lineup.

Hyundai Verna Facelift – Market Positioning and Rivals

With this update Hyundai aims to strengthen the Verna’s position in the mid size sedan segment which continues to be dominated by a few strong contenders. The Verna competes directly with models such as the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus and the Honda City.

By focusing on technology features interior comfort and performance the updated Verna continues to target buyers looking for a modern premium sedan that blends performance with advanced features.
