Hyundai introduced its Bluelink connected car technology in India in 2019 with the launch of the Hyundai Venue, which became India’s first OEM fitted connected SUV. Since then, connected vehicle penetration across Hyundai’s portfolio has grown five fold, increasing from 4 percent in 2019 to 20 percent in 2026.

The company has already crossed 800,000 cumulative connected car sales and is also targeting the milestone of 2 million connected car sales by 2030.

Hyundai Bluelink – Offers More Than 70 Features

A major part of the growth of Hyundai Bluelink has been the development of Hyundai Bluelink. The platform currently offers more than 70 connected features covering safety, security and convenience.

Customers can access functions including remote vehicle monitoring, vehicle health diagnostics, location tracking, trip history and remote commands. Bluelink also includes Hyundai Pay powered in car payments, Digital Key, Digital Passport, Remote Immobilizer and Home to Car Connectivity. The system supports more than 450 AI powered voice commands across five languages.

The technology behind Hyundai Bluelink has also evolved significantly since 2019. Hyundai introduced OTA map updates with the i20 in 2020, followed by its next generation AVNT connected technology in 2022. In 2025, the company launched its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit technology with Controller OTA update capability, marking another step in its Software Defined Vehicle roadmap for India.

Hyundai Bluelink – Safety Features

Safety has also been an important focus for Hyundai Bluelink According to the company, Bluelink has assisted more than 500,000 motorists through SOS and roadside assistance services. It has also supported around 15,000 crash notification interventions and helped law enforcement agencies with vehicle tracing and recovery.

Hyundai says demand for connected technology has been particularly strong across models such as the Creta, Venue and i20. The company’s upcoming mass market electric SUV will also offer next generation connected car technology as standard across all variants.

With over 800,000 Hyundai Bluelink connected cars already on Indian roads, the company is now moving towards its next major milestone. Hyundai aims to cross 1 million cumulative connected car sales by 2027 as it continues expanding connected technology and software based features across its Indian portfolio.

During FY26, Hyundai recorded 8.23 million vehicle services across India. The company also reported a Net Promoter Score of 93.3% for its after sales operations, reflecting customer satisfaction and loyalty towards its authorised service network.

Hyundai After Sales – Customer Retention Stands at 79%

Hyundai recorded a customer retention rate of 79% during the period. This means nearly eight out of every 10 Hyundai customers continued to service their vehicles at authorised Hyundai workshops even after the complimentary service period had ended.

The figure is particularly significant for an automaker with a large vehicle parc in India, where authorised workshops compete with independent garages and multi-brand service centres once vehicles move beyond their initial service and warranty periods.

Hyundai After Sales – 1,671 Service Touchpoints Across India

Hyundai currently operates what it describes as India’s second-largest automotive service network, comprising 1,671 service touchpoints spread across 1,021 cities.

The network is supported by 162 Mobile Service Vans, which allow Hyundai to extend maintenance and service support to customers in locations where access to a conventional workshop may be limited.

Speaking about the company’s after sales operations, Dong Huwy Park, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said that the company’s service network and Mobile Service Vans have helped extend its reach into remote areas. He added that Hyundai continues to focus on improving consistency, efficiency and customer trust through infrastructure development and greater digital integration.

Hyundai After Sales – Nearly 50,000 Trained Professionals

Hyundai’s after sales operations are supported by nearly 50,000 trained professionals across India.

The company currently operates eight Regional Learning Centres, 15 Training Academies and six Bodyshop Academies for developing technical and service skills across its network.

Hyundai is also working with educational institutions to develop future automotive service talent. The company has partnered with 102 educational institutes, including 75 Industrial Training Institutes and 27 polytechnics.

Hyundai After Sales – Remote Care Enables Preventive Maintenance

Hyundai is increasing the use of connected vehicle and Software Defined Vehicle technology within its after sales operations.

Its Remote Care programme uses vehicle sensors to proactively identify select vehicle issues and communicate alerts in advance. This allows potential problems to be identified before a workshop visit and can enable preventive maintenance and timely service intervention.

The technology represents a gradual shift in vehicle servicing from responding to reported problems towards identifying certain issues through vehicle data before they develop further.

Hyundai After Sales – 1.95 Million Smart Pick Up and Drop Trips

Digital services have also become a significant part of Hyundai’s after sales operations.

Through the myHyundai app, the company facilitated 1.95 million smart vehicle pick up and drop trips during FY26. The service allows customers to have their cars collected for servicing and returned after the work is completed, reducing the need for customers to physically visit a workshop.

With 8.23 million vehicle services completed during FY26, a 79% customer retention rate and a network extending to more than 1,000 cities, Hyundai’s latest figures underline the scale of its after sales operations in India. The company’s focus is increasingly extending beyond physical workshop expansion towards digital services, remote diagnostics and developing skilled service personnel.

Kia Syros EV – Expected Exterior Design 

In terms of design, the Kia Syros EV shares its overall design with the ICE-powered Syros, with only a few EV-specific changes. At the front, it retains the vertically stacked split headlamps with LED DRLs, body-coloured aero inserts, a redesigned bumper, a slim upper air intake, a larger lower air intake and thick black cladding. The raised bonnet with embossed Kia lettering has also been carried over.

In profile, the Syros EV continues with the same 17-inch alloy wheels as the ICE model. It also features roof rails, flush-fitting door handles and blacked-out A-, C- and D-pillars that create a floating roof effect. The charging port is positioned on the front-left fender. At the rear, the Syros EV retains the low-mounted tail lamps above the wheel arches, along with secondary lighting elements integrated beside the rear windscreen. The body-coloured rear bumper, black cladding and flat tailgate with an integrated spoiler remain unchanged from the ICE version.

Kia Syros EV – Expected Interior Design

Moving inside, the Syros EV is expected to carry over the ICE model’s cabin layout, including the layered dashboard, leather inserts and a two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls. Ventilated seats are also likely to be available for both front and rear passengers. Expected features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 5-inch screen for climate control, with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, ambient lighting, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, I-Pedal and much more.

Safety features expected to be included are six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front, side and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an electronic parking brake (EPB).

Kia Syros EV – Expected Battery Pack and Range 

There’s no info on the battery pack options. The Syros EV is expected to get the same powertrain options as the Carens Clavis EV, including 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs with a range of 420 km and 520 km, respectively. It will come paired with a single PMSM electric motor placed on the front axle.

Kia Syros EV – Expected Market Positioning and Rivals

With an expected starting price of around Rs 13 lakh (ex showroom), the Kia Syros EV is likely to be positioned as a premium compact electric SUV, slotting below the upcoming Kia Seltos EV. The launch comes shortly after Tata Motors introduced the Sierra EV in India, which became the fastest accelerating production car made by an Indian manufacturer with a claimed 0 to 100 kmph time of 5.8 seconds. With the Stealth Editions, Tata is now expanding the Harrier and Safari lineup with a new cosmetic package while retaining the feature list and mechanical setup of the top variants.

The biggest highlight of the Stealth Edition is its exclusive Stealth Black exterior finish. Unlike the standard versions, these models receive a matte black paint scheme that gives both SUVs a more distinctive appearance. The 19 inch alloy wheels continue with the same design seen on the Dark and Red Dark editions but now feature a Matte Stealth Black finish.

Tata has also added Stealth badges on the front fenders to distinguish these versions from the regular models.Apart from these cosmetic changes, the overall design, dimensions and body profile remain unchanged. Both SUVs continue with their familiar styling and road presence.

Tata Harrier and Safari Stealth Edition – Interior Design and Features

Inside, both SUVs receive an all black cabin theme that complements the exterior finish. The seats are finished in Carbon Noir leatherette upholstery, while the Terrain Response controller gets a premium bejewelled dial.

Since both Stealth Editions are based on the top variants, they retain the complete equipment list. Features include a 14.9 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered and ventilated front seats, an adjustable front centre armrest and three Terrain Response modes consisting of Normal, Rough and Wet.

Mechanically, there are no changes. Both SUVs continue with the same engine options available on the standard models. The new 1.5 litre turbo petrol direct injection engine produces 170 hp and 280 Nm of torque, while the 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine develops 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6 speed manual gearbox and a 6 speed automatic transmission with both engines.

Safety remains one of the strongest highlights. Both the Harrier and Safari have secured a 5 star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Since the Stealth Edition is based on the top trims, buyers also get a 360 degree camera and a comprehensive Level 2+ ADAS suite.

Tata Harrier and Safari Stealth Edition – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Safari Stealth Edition competes with other three row SUVs including the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Mahindra Scorpio N, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. Meanwhile, the Harrier Stealth Edition rivals the MG Hector and also overlaps with the higher variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos due to its pricing.

The Tekton is the brand’s second product launch this year after the Gravite compact MPV, which made its debut in February. Nissan has also confirmed that it will introduce another new product by the end of the first quarter of next year as part of its renewed product strategy for the Indian market.

Nissan Tekton – Exterior Design

The Nissan Tekton gets a completely redesigned front fascia that draws heavy inspiration from the flagship Nissan Patrol, giving the SUV a more upright and muscular appearance compared to the Renault Duster. The front features an upright grille with twin chrome slats, flanked by slim LED headlamps. Connecting both headlamps is a full width C shaped LED daytime running light, while a distinctive red accent strip sits below the headlamp units. The lower bumper receives a dual tone finish along with LED fog lamps and a silver skid plate.

Viewed from the side, the overall silhouette remains similar to the Duster, but Nissan has added its own identity with newly designed 18 inch alloy wheels. The SUV also features flared wheel arches and a silver trim insert on the front doors. Conventional pull type handles are used for the front doors, while the rear door handles are neatly integrated into the C pillars.

The Nissan Tekton measures 4348 mm in length, 1815 mm in width and 1674 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2657 mm and offers 212 mm of ground clearance, making it one of the more capable offerings in the segment.

At the rear, the SUV gets a full width LED light bar integrated into C shaped tail lamps, matching the design language seen at the front. A roof mounted spoiler sits above the tailgate, while the rear bumper also features a dual tone finish with a silver skid plate. The Nissan Tekton is available in Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Pearl White, Flare Garnet Red, Indigo Blue and Moonbow Gray. Every colour is offered in both monotone and dual tone finishes.

Inside, the top variants of the Nissan Tekton receive a dual tone rose gold and burgundy dashboard that gives the cabin a premium appearance. The SUV comes with a three spoke steering wheel, a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25 inch fully digital instrument cluster. The cabin features a dual tone cream and burgundy theme with leatherette upholstery, complemented by rose gold accents across the dashboard and centre console

The feature list includes a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, powered tailgate and six way powered and ventilated front seats. Other convenience features include dual zone climate control, a massive 700 litre boot, 32 litres of in cabin storage, Google Built in infotainment with more than 200 supported apps, remote engine start and Find My Car functionality. Like the exterior proportions, the cabin layout is largely carried over from the Renault Duster, with Nissan adding its own colours and trim finishes

Nissan Tekton – Powertrain and Safety

The Nissan Tekton shares its engines with the Renault Duster. The entry level 1.0 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine develops 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque and is paired with a six speed manual gearbox.

Customers looking for more performance can opt for the 1.3 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a six speed manual transmission or a six speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

Nissan claims the 1.0 litre engine accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 12.46 seconds while delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 kmpl. The 1.3 litre manual completes the same sprint in 9.51 seconds and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.8 kmpl. The DCT version does the sprint in 9.89 seconds and delivers a claimed mileage of 18.5 kmpl.

The Nissan Tekton has also secured a five star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, 360 degree surround view camera and ADAS functions such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind spot warning.

Nissan Tekton – Variants and Pricing

The Nissan Tekton is offered across six variants with three powertrain-transmission choices.

The entry level Visia variant with the 1.0 litre turbo petrol manual is priced at Rs 10.49 lakh. The top spec Tekna Plus variant is priced at Rs 16.49 lakh with the 1.0 litre manual and Rs 18.59 lakh with the 1.3 litre DCT. All prices are ex showroom.

Nissan Tekton – Market Positioning and Rivals

Bookings for the Nissan Tekton are now open, with deliveries scheduled to begin from July 20th. Nissan is offering a five year Nissan Care warranty package consisting of three years standard warranty and an additional two years extended coverage. Buyers also receive a five year maintenance package, access to the Nissan Loyalty Program, finance offers starting from 5.55 percent interest, an exclusive exchange programme and over 50 personalisation accessories.

With aggressive pricing and a long list of features, the Nissan Tekton enters one of the most competitive segments in the country. It takes on rivals such as the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris & Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.

Volkswagen Tayron – Expected Exterior Design

The latest teaser gives a first look at several exterior details of the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron. At the front, the SUV retains the same overall headlight design as the Tayron R Line. It features projector LED headlamps along with a connected LED light bar that stretches across the front fascia. An illuminated Volkswagen logo is positioned in the centre, in line with the newer VWs.

While the headlight design appears unchanged, Volkswagen has not revealed the grille and front bumper design. These are expected to receive a simpler treatment compared to the sportier R Line version, helping differentiate the two variants visually.

The side profile reveals a fresh alloy wheel design, although the exact wheel size remains unknown. For reference, the Tayron R Line comes equipped with 19 inch alloy wheels. The teaser also confirms gloss black wheel arches and roof rails. At the rear, the SUV gets connected LED tail lamps with another illuminated Volkswagen logo. The rear bumper is also expected to feature a unique design that is less aggressive than the R Line model.

Volkswagen Tayron – Expected Interior Design and Features

Inside, the lower spec Tayron is expected to retain the same overall dashboard layout as the R Line variant. Visible in the teaser is the free standing touchscreen infotainment system along with a fully digital driver’s display. While Volkswagen has not disclosed the screen sizes or detailed specifications, the cabin appears to maintain a premium look.

Other features seen in the teaser include blue ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and metal pedals. However, Volkswagen is expected to reserve several premium features for the higher spec R Line variant.

For reference, the Volkswagen Tayron R Line offers 12 way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for three profiles. The seats also feature heating, ventilation, lumbar support and an eight mode massage function. Other highlights include a three zone Climatronic air conditioning system, an 11 speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a 700 watt output, wireless charging for two smartphones, dual high power USB C charging ports and an augmented reality head up display. It remains to be seen which of these features will be offered on the lower spec model when it launches.

Volkswagen Tayron – Expected Powertrain and Safety

Mechanically, the lower spec Tayron is expected to remain unchanged. It is likely to continue with the same 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine that powers the Tayron R Line. This engine develops 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque and is paired with a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Power is expected to be sent to all four wheels through Volkswagen’s all wheel drive system.

In terms of safety, the Tayron R Line comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring 14 driver assistance functions. It also gets nine airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent control and hill descent control as standard. Whether Volkswagen will offer the complete ADAS package and identical safety equipment on the lower spec variant remains to be seen. The final list of safety features will only be confirmed at the official launch.

Volkswagen Tayron – Expected Price and Rivals

As this is positioned as the more affordable version of the Tayron, Volkswagen is expected to price it below the Tayron R Line, which currently retails at Rs 46.99 lakh (ex showroom). The lower spec model is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 42 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, the Volkswagen Tayron will compete with established rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and the MG Majestor. With local assembly, a practical seven seat layout and a more competitive expected price, the new Tayron variant could attract buyers looking for a premium family SUV without stepping up to the fully loaded R Line.

Nissan refers to the Tekton as the “Baby Patrol” as the SUV draws significant design inspiration from the flagship Nissan Patrol. The new SUV will be based on the Renault Duster and is expected to share several components and underpinnings with it. The Tekton also serves as a spiritual successor to the Nissan Terrano, which itself was based on the first generation Renault Duster sold in India.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Exterior Design

Based on the latest undisguised spy shots, teaser images released recently and the design previews shared in 2025, the Nissan Tekton takes heavy inspiration from the Nissan Patrol. The front features a sculpted bonnet along with C shaped LED headlamps that closely resemble those seen on the larger Patrol. A large grille, upright proportions and a chunky lower bumper further enhance its rugged appearance while giving the SUV a stronger road presence.

At the rear, the styling closely matches the teaser images previously released by Nissan. A full width LED light bar stretches across the tailgate and seamlessly connects the LED tail lamps on either side. The lighting signature appears identical to what Nissan previewed in its official teaser campaign. At the centre sits the Nissan logo, while Tekton lettering is prominently embossed across the lower portion of the tailgate.

Viewed from the side, the SUV carries a muscular stance with squared wheel arches and a distinctive Double C shaped accent on the front doors. The overall proportions closely resemble those of the Renault Duster, confirming the shared platform and architecture.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Interior Design and Features

Complete interior details are yet to be revealed.  Since the SUV shares its platform with the Renault Duster, the feature list is also expected to be similar. Expected equipment includes a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric front seats with ventilation and several connected car features. These features are currently based on expectations and speculation. The complete equipment list and technical specifications will only be confirmed during the launch tommorow.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Powertrain

As the Tekton is based on the Renault Duster, it is expected to use the same engine options. The Duster is offered with three powertrain choices.

The entry level option is expected to be a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six speed manual transmission. A more powerful 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine develops 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque and is expected to be offered with a six speed automatic transmission.

The Duster lineup also includes a hybrid variant, although complete technical details of that powertrain are yet to be disclosed. These engines are expected to make their way into the Nissan Tekton as well. However, the final specifications and engine lineup will only be confirmed once the SUV is officially unveiled.

Nissan Tekton – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Nissan Tekton will enter the highly competitive mid size SUV segment when it makes its global debut on July 9, 2026. In India, the SUV is expected to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Victoris.

With styling heavily inspired by the Patrol and a platform shared with the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton aims to offer buyers a rugged yet refined family SUV. The global debut tomorrow is expected to reveal the complete exterior, interior, feature list, technical specifications and powertrain details, giving us our first comprehensive look at Nissan’s most important SUV for the Indian market in recent years.
