Porsche is a carmaker well-known to make some of the most iconic stuff of all time. And what could be more characteristically Porsche than the 911 range? We had the opportunity to try out every flavour of the 911 right from the standard, purist Carerra, to the GTS Hybrid— a true marvel of technology topping it up with the enthusiast favourite GT3RS. That’s not all though. The tasty GT4RS, arguably a more nimble and agile track weapon also made an appearance as did the full range of modern electrics, including the Taycan and Macan EVs.

However, before I talk about the track, Porsche had a surprise waiting for us. Our first task for the day— taking the Cayenne range of SUVs off-road! With a curated off-road track with obstacles such as chicken holes, steep climbs, banking angles and more, the Cayenne frankly felt extremely capable. Now who would think a Porsche would perform so well off the beaten path?

Next up was the track day, a marvellous two laps in the EVs, 911s and the GT4RS each felt surreal. Now, each car was incredibly fun although I still felt more of a connect with the purist favourite Carrera. There’s just something about an unadulterated experience that truly stands out. A simply flat-six, comfortable suspension yet with the raunchy looks, the oh-so-tight handling and the ability to go really fast. The GT3RS was a whole different spectrum however. A track weapon like none-else, one simply wonders how it could be bettered in the next avatar? It’s a bit too perfect— even for a Porsche! Something to ponder about.

A quick briefing later, it was time to experience the glory of electrification with the Taycan Turbo GT. Holding the title of the fastest production electric on the Yas Marina Circuit, Dubai, the 2.2 second 0-100kmph time sounds unrealistic. But when the car squats down preparing to launch itself, you realise it means business. Oh and business it meant. With an absolute razor sharp response, its speed feels like it might just beat the latest Apollo spacecraft. There must be some sorcery involved in developing the technology behind it!

The last task for the day was a quick slalom course in the 718 Spyder RS. While just recovering from the bone-tingling Turbo GT run, it provides a completely different perspective. That of absolute precision and how Porsche makes such good-handling cars. It’s not a small car, but it feels like driving a motorcycle— so quick on its feet. A bit sad though that the course got over much before I wanted to let go of the car!

Concluding the day with an extensive shoot of the entire lineup, it felt a bit of an iconic day. Just like the Porsche brand is etched in every enthusiasts mind worldwide, here I was getting to experience the DNA one car at a time.

The Carens Clavis features a redesigned front inspired by Kia’s global EV5, with a near-sealed grille, sharper LED headlamps, and a full-width LED light bar. It also comes with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a star-pattern design.

Inside, the Clavis retains the three-row layout with sliding and reclining second-row seats and a one-touch electric tumble function. A 26.62-inch connected dual display houses the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Other features include ventilated front seats, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system.

Additional equipment includes 64-colour ambient lighting, roof-mounted diffused AC vents, a seat-integrated air purifier, and Kia’s infotainment/temperature control swap switch.

The Clavis is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, offering over 20 safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, and front collision warning. Standard safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and rear occupant alert.

These two variants are available with petrol and Hy-CNG Duo powertrains, paired with either a manual or AMT gearbox. The S Smart variant includes features such as an electric sunroof, LED taillamps with DRLs, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear AC vents, and 15-inch steel wheels with covers. The SX Smart variant adds a smart key with push-button start, projector headlamps, and a shark-fin antenna, while retaining key features from the S Smart variant.

Hyundai has standardized safety features across the Exter range, now offering ISOFIX child seat mounts and six airbags as standard. An optional 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a rear camera is available for Rs 14,999 as a genuine accessory, backed by a 3-year warranty.

Under the hood, the Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83hp and 114Nm of torque. In CNG form, it delivers 69hp and 95.2Nm, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The special edition serves as a tribute to the original 1941 Willys, blending heritage design with current off-road technology. It debuts a new 41 Green exterior paint, exclusive to this model in India, and includes military-themed styling elements such as a 1941 hood decal.

The Willys ’41 edition features power-operated side steps, all-weather floor mats, grab handles for both rows, and digital video recorders at the front and rear. An optional adventure package adds a roof carrier with integrated side steps and a Sunrider roof.

Inside, the SUV includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Jeep’s Uconnect 5 OS, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a semi-digital cluster, off-road camera with washer, 12-way power front seats, and automatic headlamps. Safety equipment includes electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, electronic roll mitigation, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, and ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control with stop and go, front collision warning, and emergency braking assist.

Powering the Wrangler Willys is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 270hp and 400Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic and Jeep’s Selec-Trac full-time 4WD system. Off-road hardware includes Rock mode, locking front and rear differentials, an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, and a 240 Amp alternator.

The Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan has also been updated. While the battery rental rate remains at Rs 4.5 per kilometre, the vehicle’s starting price under this scheme has increased from Rs 12.50 lakh to Rs 13.09 lakh.

The Windsor Pro is powered by a 52.9 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 449 km per charge. It uses a motor rated at 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. Charging options include a 7.4kW AC charger that takes approximately 9.5 hours and a 60kW DC fast charger that charges from 20% to 80% in 50 minutes.

New features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging functions. The model also receives updated 18-inch alloy wheels and three new paint options: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver. The interior now sports a dual-tone ivory and black theme.

Existing features such as the 15.6-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital display, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 9-speaker Infinity audio system, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and six airbags remain. A powered tailgate is a new addition.

A key upgrade is the addition of ADAS Level 2, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and other driver assistance technologies.

The new Kodiaq is being offered in two distinct trims: the Sportline and the top-tier Laurin & Klement (L&K) edition, the latter commanding a price of Rs 48.69 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest iteration competes directly with a set of formidable rivals, including the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, MG Gloster, Hyundai Tucson, and Jeep Meridian.

The second-generation Kodiaq is built on the MQB37 platform and measures 4.75 metres in length—making it 61 mm longer than the outgoing model. However, its width (1.8 metres) and wheelbase (2.71 metres) remain unchanged. The SUV sits 155 mm above the ground, lending it a capable stance suitable for urban as well as occasional off-road usage.

In terms of visual upgrades, Skoda has made significant improvements to the Kodiaq’s exterior profile. Notable among these are the hexagonal front grille, which features a matte dark chrome finish on the L&K and a gloss black treatment on the Sportline. The SUV now incorporates a split Matrix LED headlamp setup with connected LED daytime running lights, a C-shaped LED taillight design linked by a horizontal light bar, and a sculpted hood for a more muscular appearance.

Additional design changes include reshaped front and rear bumpers, functional roof rails, and newly styled 18-inch alloy wheels that add to the vehicle’s visual appeal. The illuminated grille adds a futuristic flair to the SUV’s front fascia.

Inside, the cabin has undergone a complete redesign, creating a more contemporary and tech-forward experience. A fresh dashboard layout incorporates a floating 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, complemented by rotary climate control dials that feature integrated display screens. A fully digital 10-inch instrument cluster with an optional heads-up display provides the driver with key information in an intuitive manner.

The Kodiaq now includes features such as a panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED lighting, and heated, ventilated, and massage-enabled front seats. A 15W wireless charging pad with active cooling functionality ensures devices remain charged and safe from overheating. Skoda’s signature umbrella storage compartments continue to be present in the front doors, adding a touch of practicality and tradition.

The cabin also features a two-spoke steering wheel and subtle use of premium materials, making the interior space feel both elegant and functional.

The SUV is equipped with nine airbags as standard, along with advanced safety systems such as anti-lock braking (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), hill start assist, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, auto park assist and a surround-view 360-degree camera.

Beneath the hood, the second-gen Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This motor generates 201 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG) that delivers power to all four wheels through Skoda’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

The engine and transmission combination allows the SUV to deliver a balanced mix of performance and efficiency, with an ARAI-certified fuel economy figure of 14.86 kmpl.

The C3 Dark Edition is derived from the Shine variant and is priced at Rs 8.38 lakh. It showcases a Perla Nera Black exterior finish complemented by dark chrome Citroen emblems. The cabin has been enhanced with red-stitched leatherette trim, gloss black highlights around the AC vents and gear lever, and new ambient lighting along with illuminated footwells for a more upscale appearance.

The C3 Aircross Dark Edition, based on the Max trim and priced at Rs 13.13 lakh, also receives the blacked-out treatment. Inside, it incorporates Lava Red accents, leatherette seat upholstery and door pads, a glossy black gear lever surround, as well as subtle touches like illuminated door sill plates and seatbelt cushions.

Making its debut in the Dark Edition lineup is the Basalt coupe-SUV, priced at Rs 12.80 lakh. It mirrors the Aircross in terms of cosmetic updates—featuring dark chrome elements, a carbon black dashboard, and leatherette seats with red stitching. Notably, the first unit of the Basalt Dark Edition has already been delivered to cricket legend MS Dhoni.

All three models continue with their existing engine setups. The Aircross and Basalt retain the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor. These exclusive variants are available at a slight premium, with prices increasing by as little as Rs 19,500 depending on the model. Availability is limited and can be checked at Citroen dealerships across India.

BNCAP subjected the Syros to frontal offset (63.95 kmph), side impact (50.17 kmph), and pole side impact (29.17 kmph) tests. It achieved 14.21 out of 16 in the frontal offset impact, showing good protection for the head and neck and adequate protection for the chest and knees. The SUV scored a perfect 16 in the side impact test, and its pole test performance was rated “OK.”

In child occupant protection, the Syros earned 23.42 out of 24 in the dynamic assessment. Test dummies representing 18-month-old and 3-year-old children were placed in Joie i-Spin 360 rearward-facing child seats, mounted with ISOFIX and support leg. The younger dummy scored 7.58/8 in frontal and 4/4 in side impact tests, while the older one scored 7.84/8 and 4/4 respectively.

The SUV comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Level 2 ADAS suite. Additional features include a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and front and rear parking sensors.

The revised lineup now includes 18 distinct variants, all of which come with six airbags as standard. Several trims—specifically Zeta (O), Zeta+ (O), Alpha (O), and Alpha+ (O)—also offer a panoramic sunroof. The Strong Hybrid version is now available in the mid-tier Delta Plus variant, while the AWD trim now gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, replacing the previously available manual gearbox.

Key additions to the feature list include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, an electronic parking brake, a cabin air purifier with PM2.5 display, rear sunshades, and LED lighting inside the cabin. Other highlights across the range include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display (limited to the hybrid model), ventilated front seats, a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, ambient lighting, Arkamys-tuned audio, and connected car features.

On the safety front, the SUV includes electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill descent control, among others.

Two engine options remain available. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol motor producing 103 hp and 135 Nm of torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. AWD is also offered with the automatic transmission,

The second engine is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder Atkinson cycle strong hybrid unit sourced from Toyota, generating a combined output of 115 hp. Paired with an e-CVT gearbox, this hybrid variant offers a claimed fuel economy of 27.97 km/l.

The updated Kodiaq is longer and lower than its predecessor, growing by 61mm in length to 4.75 metres, while retaining its 2.71-metre wheelbase and 1.8-metre width. It follows Škoda’s new design language with a sculpted bonnet, a hexagonal grille, split matrix LED headlights with a connecting LED strip, and wide air intakes with a skid plate. The rear features a redesigned tailgate, bumper, and apron with an integrated diffuser, as well as a dark chrome finish on the D-pillar. Both variants ride on newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels. Skoda claims a reduced drag coefficient of 0.282.

Inside, the SUV gets a redesigned dashboard with a large 13.5-inch free-standing touchscreen, rotary dials with embedded screens, vertically stacked vents, and leatherette upholstery made from recycled polyester. Key features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 10-inch digital cluster with a head-up display, 15W wireless charging with active cooling, ambient lighting strips, and umbrella storage in the front doors. Additional expected features include connected car tech, navigation, a premium sound system, and various drive-related displays.

The new Kodiaq retains its 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox that powers all four wheels.
