Today, with more than seven million riders across the world, the Apache has established itself as one of India’s most successful performance motorcycle brands. But numbers alone do not define its legacy. Its story is built on college memories, late night rides with friends, weekend highway runs, racing aspirations, and the dream of owning a motorcycle that felt special without being out of reach.

For many Indians, the Apache was their first college bike. It was the motorcycle parked outside engineering colleges, seen outside cafes, and the machine that introduced an entire generation to performance riding. It was the motorcycle many of us admired before we could even afford one.

For me personally, the Apache carries a different memory. Growing up, I remember watching the Tamil film Ayan, where actor Suriya rode a bright yellow TVS Apache. There was something about the way the motorcycle looked on screen that stayed with me. Even today, every time I see an Apache on the road, it instantly reminds me of that film. It is one of those machines that quietly becomes part of your childhood without you even realizing it. That emotional connection is perhaps Apache’s biggest achievement.

TVS Apache – Roots in Racing Since 1982

Long before the Apache name existed, TVS had already built a reputation in Indian motorsport. TVS Racing began its journey in 1982, making it India’s first factory backed racing team. Over the decades, the company competed across road racing, rallying, motocross and endurance events, producing several national champions while continuously developing technologies on the racetrack before bringing them to production motorcycles.

Unlike many manufacturers that simply used racing as a marketing slogan, TVS consistently used motorsport as an engineering laboratory. The lessons learned from competition eventually laid the foundation for what would become the Apache brand. When the first Apache arrived, it carried years of racing experience behind it.

TVS Apache – The Motorcycle That Started It All

The journey began in late 2005 with the launch of the TVS Apache 150. Powered by a 147.55 cc air cooled short stroke engine producing 13.5 bhp, the motorcycle immediately established itself as a serious competitor in the growing 150 cc segment. It challenged established names like the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the Hero Honda CBZ while offering a sportier riding experience.

More importantly, it changed how people looked at TVS. Until then, the company was largely associated with practical commuter motorcycles. The Apache proved that TVS could build motorcycles for enthusiasts as well.

TVS Apache – Racing Throttle Response “RTR”

In 2007, TVS introduced a name that would become iconic among Indian riders.The Apache RTR 160.

RTR stood for Racing Throttle Response, a name inspired directly by TVS Racing. The motorcycle brought sharper styling, stronger performance and India’s first fuel injected motorcycle in its segment. It quickly became one of the most popular choices among young riders looking for a balance of everyday usability and excitement.

The RTR family would continue evolving over the years through multiple updates, eventually receiving four valve technology, fuel injection, ABS and improved performance, allowing it to compete against motorcycles like the Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet. Even today, the RTR 160 remains one of the strongest pillars of the Apache lineup.

TVS Apache – Taking On Bigger Rivals

In 2009, TVS entered the 180 cc segment with the Apache RTR 180.At a time when the Bajaj Pulsar 180 dominated the category, TVS responded with a more powerful motorcycle producing 17.03 bhp and 15.5 Nm of torque. It immediately positioned itself as a genuine performance alternative.

Two years later, TVS made history by introducing ABS on the RTR 180, making it India’s first motorcycle to be offered with ABS. This was a major milestone for motorcycle safety in the country and showed that TVS was willing to bring premium technology to affordable motorcycles long before it became an industry standard.

TVS Apache – A New Era Begins

The biggest leap came in 2016 with the launch of the Apache RTR 200 4V.

Instead of simply increasing engine capacity, TVS developed an entirely new platform. The motorcycle introduced a new 198 cc oil cooled engine producing over 20 bhp, a race derived Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff frame, rear monoshock suspension and the company’s new four valve cylinder head technology.

The RTR 200 became a technology showcase. Over time it gained riding modes, adjustable suspension, Bluetooth connectivity through SmartXConnect and several other segment leading features that demonstrated how quickly TVS was pushing the Apache brand forward. It was no longer just competing, it was beginning to lead.

TVS Apache – Taking India Global

In 2017, TVS entered a completely different league. The Apache RR 310 became the company’s flagship supersport motorcycle and marked the beginning of its collaboration with BMW Motorrad. Sharing its platform with the BMW G 310 RR while retaining TVS engineering and manufacturing expertise, the RR 310 brought premium engineering within reach of Indian enthusiasts. Powered by a 312 cc liquid cooled engine producing nearly 38 bhp, it became the fastest and most technologically advanced Apache ever built. More importantly, it gave the Apache name global recognition.

TVS Apache – Limited Editions and New Possibilities

TVS continued expanding the family with the Apache RTR 165 RP in 2021. Limited to just 200 motorcycles, it became the first model under the company’s Race Performance series. With higher output, revised gearing and exclusive styling, it celebrated TVS Racing’s engineering capabilities while becoming an instant collector’s motorcycle.

In 2023 came the Apache RTR 310. Sharing its mechanical foundation with the RR 310 but adopting an aggressive streetfighter design, it brought premium electronics, cruise control, climate controlled seat, tyre pressure monitoring system and multiple riding modes into a naked motorcycle segment that was rapidly evolving. It proved that Apache was no longer just about outright performance. It had become a technology leader as well.

TVS Apache – The Biggest Expansion Yet

After spending two decades building street motorcycles and supersport machines, TVS finally entered the adventure touring segment in 2025 with the Apache RTX.

The RTX became the first ever adventure motorcycle to wear the TVS Apache badge and represented an entirely new direction for the brand. Built around the all new 299.1 cc RT XD4 liquid cooled engine producing 36 PS and 28.5 Nm of torque, the motorcycle introduced ride by wire throttle, slipper clutch, quickshifter, multiple riding technologies and adventure focused ergonomics.

Rather than creating a completely separate identity, TVS chose to extend the Apache name into adventure touring, showing just how much trust and recognition the brand had built over twenty years. The Apache had finally grown beyond racetracks and city streets into a motorcycle built to explore the unknown.

TVS Apache – Seven Million Stories

Today, the TVS Apache family stretches across street motorcycles, fully faired supersports and adventure tourers while reaching riders in Latin America, Asia, Africa and several European markets. Yet the biggest achievement cannot be measured in sales numbers or export markets.

It lies in the memories. For one rider, it was the first motorcycle bought after landing a first job. For another, it was the motorcycle that waited outside college every morning. For someone else, it was the first machine that introduced them to racing. For me, it will always be that yellow Apache from “Ayan”.

That is what makes the TVS Apache special. It is not simply a motorcycle that has evolved through bigger engines, better technology and more performance. It is a motorcycle that has quietly grown alongside an entire generation of Indian riders. Seven million motorcycles later, the Apache story is no longer just TVS’ story. It belongs to everyone who has ever looked back at their motorcycle after parking it, smiled, and thought, this one is special.

Nissan refers to the Tekton as the “Baby Patrol” as the SUV draws significant design inspiration from the flagship Nissan Patrol. The new SUV will be based on the Renault Duster and is expected to share several components and underpinnings with it. The Tekton also serves as a spiritual successor to the Nissan Terrano, which itself was based on the first generation Renault Duster sold in India.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Exterior Design

Based on the latest undisguised spy shots, teaser images released recently and the design previews shared in 2025, the Nissan Tekton takes heavy inspiration from the Nissan Patrol. The front features a sculpted bonnet along with C shaped LED headlamps that closely resemble those seen on the larger Patrol. A large grille, upright proportions and a chunky lower bumper further enhance its rugged appearance while giving the SUV a stronger road presence.

At the rear, the styling closely matches the teaser images previously released by Nissan. A full width LED light bar stretches across the tailgate and seamlessly connects the LED tail lamps on either side. The lighting signature appears identical to what Nissan previewed in its official teaser campaign. At the centre sits the Nissan logo, while Tekton lettering is prominently embossed across the lower portion of the tailgate.

Viewed from the side, the SUV carries a muscular stance with squared wheel arches and a distinctive Double C shaped accent on the front doors. The overall proportions closely resemble those of the Renault Duster, confirming the shared platform and architecture.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Interior Design and Features

Complete interior details are yet to be revealed.  Since the SUV shares its platform with the Renault Duster, the feature list is also expected to be similar. Expected equipment includes a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric front seats with ventilation and several connected car features. These features are currently based on expectations and speculation. The complete equipment list and technical specifications will only be confirmed during the launch tommorow.

Nissan Tekton – Expected Powertrain

As the Tekton is based on the Renault Duster, it is expected to use the same engine options. The Duster is offered with three powertrain choices.

The entry level option is expected to be a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six speed manual transmission. A more powerful 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine develops 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque and is expected to be offered with a six speed automatic transmission.

The Duster lineup also includes a hybrid variant, although complete technical details of that powertrain are yet to be disclosed. These engines are expected to make their way into the Nissan Tekton as well. However, the final specifications and engine lineup will only be confirmed once the SUV is officially unveiled.

Nissan Tekton – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Nissan Tekton will enter the highly competitive mid size SUV segment when it makes its global debut on July 9, 2026. In India, the SUV is expected to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Victoris.

With styling heavily inspired by the Patrol and a platform shared with the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton aims to offer buyers a rugged yet refined family SUV. The global debut tomorrow is expected to reveal the complete exterior, interior, feature list, technical specifications and powertrain details, giving us our first comprehensive look at Nissan’s most important SUV for the Indian market in recent years.

Mahindra first showcased the Vision S concept during its annual Independence Day event on August 15, 2025. At the time, the company confirmed that the SUV would arrive in 2027 as part of its future product lineup. Based on the development timeline and the fact that road testing has already begun, the launch still appears to be on track for 2027. The Vision S will also be among the first products to use Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform, which has been designed to support internal combustion, electric and hybrid powertrains.

Mahindra Vision S – Expected Exterior Design

The latest test mule suggests that the production Vision S will remain largely faithful to the concept shown last year. Despite being heavily camouflaged, the overall silhouette closely matches the concept vehicle, indicating that Mahindra has retained much of its original design.

The Vision S is expected to be a sub-4m SUV and carries a rugged, upright stance. Several styling cues appear to be inspired by the Mahindra Scorpio. Even the name Vision S is believed to reference the Scorpio, leading many industry observers to believe that the model could eventually be positioned as a sportier alternative within Mahindra’s SUV lineup.

At the front, the test mule features LED headlamps, although it remains unclear whether these are the final production units. The SUV also gets a tall bonnet and a boxy profile that reinforces its rugged appearance. At the rear, one of the most noticeable features is the tailgate mounted spare wheel, similar to what is seen on models like the Thar and Bolero. Another detail revealed through the latest spy shots is the presence of flush fitting door handles, similar to what is seen on the Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Mahindra Vision S – Expected Interior Design

The latest spy photographs have also provided the first look inside the Vision S. The cabin appears to retain several design elements from the concept showcased in 2025. The dashboard layout and the shape of the air conditioning vents appear similar to what was displayed on the concept vehicle.

The test vehicle features a dual screen setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. It is also fitted with a two spoke steering wheel that resembles the unit seen on Mahindra’s BE electric vehicles. However, since this is an early test vehicle, the steering wheel may not represent the final production version.

The test mule is equipped with an automatic transmission and features a centrally mounted gear selector along with a centre armrest. The spy shots also reveal the presence of a sunroof and height adjustable seat belts. Another notable aspect of the cabin is the extensive use of physical buttons for several functions instead of relying entirely on touchscreen controls. The front seats also appear to offer height adjustment

Mahindra Vision S – Expected Powertrain

Mahindra has not revealed the powertrain options for the Vision S. However, during the unveiling of the NUIQ platform in 2025, the company confirmed that the architecture has been developed to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains.

Given its expected position in Mahindra’s sub four meter SUV range, the Vision S could borrow engines from the company’s existing lineup. The current XUV300 is offered with a 1.5 litre diesel engine, a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine and a more powerful 1.2 litre TGDI turbo petrol engine. These powertrains could find their way into the Vision S. An electric version and a hybrid variant are also possibilities, although Mahindra has not confirmed any details yet.

Mahindra Vision S – Expected Launch Timeline and Rivals

Mahindra has not announced an official launch date for the Vision S. However, the company had earlier indicated a 2027 introduction, and the latest round of testing suggests development is progressing as planned. The SUV could make its production debut during Mahindra’s annual Independence Day event in 2027.

Once launched, the Mahindra Vision S is expected to compete in the highly competitive sub four meter SUV segment. Its primary rivals are likely to include the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Sonet and Syros. With a fresh platform, multiple powertrain possibilities and styling that remains close to the concept, the Vision S could become an important addition to Mahindra’s future SUV portfolio.

With this update, Renault has discontinued the entry level Authentic variant. As a result, the entry price of the Kwid has increased by Rs 22,000. However, the Evolution and Climber variants are now priced Rs 14,000 and Rs 32,000 lower than before, making the higher trims more accessible.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Exterior Design

The 2026 Renault Kwid receives only subtle cosmetic updates. The most noticeable changes include the new 3D Renault logo at the front and rear, redesigned dual tone wheel covers for the 14 inch steel wheels and a refreshed silver finish for the Kwid lettering on the tailgate with a new font. Apart from these changes, the overall design remains identical to the outgoing model with eyebrow shaped LED DRLs, halogen headlamps, halogen tail lamps and the same front and rear bumpers.

The dimensions also remain unchanged. The Kwid measures 3,731 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,422 mm and a ground clearance of 184 mm.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Powertrain

Powering the 2026 Renault Kwid is the same 1.0 litre three cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 69 hp and 92.5 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5 speed manual gearbox and a 5 speed automated manual transmission.

Renault Kwid – Evolution Variant Features

The Evolution variant is offered with both manual and AMT gearbox options. Prices start at Rs 4.53 lakh for the manual and Rs 4.90 lakh for the AMT, both ex showroom. This variant is available only in single tone paint finishes, including Fiery Red, Zanskar Blue, Outback Bronze, Moonlight Silver and Ice Cool White.

On the outside, the Evolution variant gets body coloured bumpers, a stylised graphite grille, integrated roof spoiler, Silver Streak LED DRLs, stylised door decals, sparkling silver full wheel covers and side indicators integrated into the wheel arch cladding.

Inside the Renault Kwid, the cabin features grey melange fabric upholstery, internally adjustable ORVMs, a stylised gear knob with gear knob bellow, piano black centre fascia, chrome surrounds for the infotainment system along with chrome inserts on the air conditioning controls and air vents.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the Evolution variant comes equipped with manual air conditioning with heater, pollen filter, front power windows, rear grab handles, electric power steering, rear seats with foldable backrest, co driver sunvisor, intermittent front wipers with washer function, cabin light with theatre dimming, front 12V power socket, LED digital instrument cluster and an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include USB and AUX ports, two front speakers, antenna, remote keyless entry with central locking and Traffic Assistance Mode on AMT variants.

Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, hill start assist on AMT variants, reverse parking sensors, three point seat belts for all occupants, driver seat belt pretensioner, front seat belt load limiters, driver and passenger seat belt reminders, rear seat belt reminder, speed alert warning, pedestrian protection, rear child locks, speed sensing auto door locking and impact sensing door unlock.

Renault Kwid Climber – Variant Features

The Climber variant of the Renault Kwid is available with both manual and AMT transmissions. Prices are Rs 4.99 lakh for the manual and Rs 5.60 lakh for the AMT, both ex showroom. Unlike the Evolution variant, the Climber is offered exclusively in dual tone colour options. Buyers can choose Fiery Red, Zanskar Blue, Outback Bronze, Moonlight Silver or Ice Cool White, all paired with a contrasting black roof.

The Climber builds upon the Evolution variant with several cosmetic and equipment upgrades. On the exterior, it adds sporty white ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, door protection cladding, dual tone wheel covers, dual tone body finish, SUV inspired front and rear skid plates with white inserts, roof rails with white inserts and Climber badging on the C pillar.

Inside, the Climber receives chrome inner door handles, chrome finished parking brake lever, white door panel inserts, metal mustard and white upholstery with striped embossing and a gloss black gear knob with white detailing and white stitched gear boot.

Additional convenience features include steering mounted audio controls, rear power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, day night inside rear view mirror, rear parcel shelf and a reverse parking camera. Safety is also enhanced with the addition of two side airbags and curtain airbags, taking the total airbag count higher than the Evolution variant.

Limited to just 1,499 units worldwide, the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale has been designed for enthusiasts who want a more involved driving experience without giving up the convenience and performance of a modern transmission.

Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale – Manuale By Wire system Explained

The highlight of the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale is its new Manuale By Wire system, developed entirely at Maranello. Unlike a conventional manual gearbox, the system retains Ferrari’s existing eight speed dual clutch transmission but introduces a completely new gear lever and clutch pedal that electronically control the gearbox while recreating the feel of a traditional manual.

Drivers can manually shift through the first six forward gears and reverse using the new gear lever and clutch pedal. At any point, they can also switch back to fully automatic mode, allowing the car to function like a conventional dual clutch automatic.

Ferrari says the system has been engineered to recreate the physical sensations of a mechanical gearbox, including resistance while shifting, positive engagement between gears and even the possibility of jerky shifts or stalling if the clutch is not operated correctly. This allows drivers to experience techniques such as heel and toe downshifts while maintaining the precision of a modern electronic system.

The Manuale By Wire system introduces several completely new components. The gear lever uses advanced kinematic mechanisms and sensors that recreate the resistance and clicks associated with Ferrari’s classic gated manual gearboxes. The mechanism itself weighs less than 3.5 kg and has been machined from solid metal for maximum precision.

The clutch pedal also follows a completely new design. Instead of directly operating a mechanical clutch, pedal inputs are measured electronically before being translated into hydraulic operation of the dual clutch gearbox. Ferrari has carefully calibrated the pedal to reproduce the familiar load and travel characteristics of a traditional clutch, making every gear change feel natural and rewarding.

The company has even tuned the sound produced by the gear lever mechanism to further enhance the mechanical sensation inside the cabin.

Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale – Exterior and Interior Design

Ferrari will produce only 1,499 examples of the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale. The production number pays tribute to the displacement of Ferrari’s very first V12 engine introduced in 1947.Exterior design changes are minimal, with the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale largely retaining the standard model’s styling. Exclusive badging, unique forged wheels, subtle pinstripe detailing and Tailor Made finishes are the only visual cues distinguishing it from the regular 12Cilindri.

The special edition also receives exclusive forged five spoke wheels, laser etched side badges, unique Tailor Made interior trims and a pinstripe finish on the front splitter and rear wings inspired by the iconic Ferrari 365 GTB4. Customers will be able to choose from 25 historic Ferrari colours, including launch colour Rosso Rubino along with shades such as Argento Nürburgring, Blu Pozzi, Rosso Dino and Giallo Montecarlo.

Inside, the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale features a redesigned centre console inspired by Ferrari’s legendary manual sports cars. The centrepiece is a modern interpretation of the classic open metal gated shifter with a six speed shift pattern and reverse positioned in the top left corner. The seats, available in Comfort and Racing versions, are enhanced with Tailor Made materials and a specific trim featuring six vertical grooves, a small hat tip to the six gears of the manual transmission.

The aluminium gear knob features illuminated markings displaying the six forward gears along with the selected driving mode. The centre console has also been redesigned to improve ergonomics during manual shifting, while the pedals follow the classic three pedal layout. Ferrari has also incorporated anodised aluminium trim, engraved door sills and several bespoke design elements exclusive to the Manuale edition.

Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale – Powertrain

Powering the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale is the same naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 engine found in the standard model. It produces 830 hp, revs to an impressive 9,500 rpm, and delivers power exclusively to the rear wheels. Performance figures remains exceptional with a claimed 0 to 100 kmph time of 2.9 seonds and a top speed exceeding 340 kmph. Ferrari believes the high revving nature of its V12 makes it the perfect engine to pair with the more engaging manual driving experience.

Since then, brands such as Citroen, Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Tata Motors, Toyota and most recently Hyundai have started offering Battery as a Service schemes, allowing customers to purchase an EV without paying the full battery cost upfront. Instead, buyers pay a subscription fee based on the distance driven. Here is a look at all the electric cars in India currently available with the Battery as a Service option.

EVs offered with BaaS – MG Windsor EV

MG introduced the Battery as a Service ownership plan in India with the Windsor EV, which was launched in September 2024 with a 38kWh battery pack. A larger 52.9kWh battery was added in May 2025.

The battery subscription fee is Rs 3.9 per kilometre for the 38kWh version and Rs 4.5 per kilometre for the larger battery pack. Buyers can reduce the upfront purchase cost by as much as Rs 5 lakh through this scheme.

EVs offered with BaaS – MG Comet EV

The MG Comet EV is the brand’s most affordable electric car in India, with standard prices starting from Rs 7.63 lakh. The Comet comes with two variants a 17.3 kWh battery pack and 17.4 kWh battery pack. It also gets features like dual 10.25 inch screens, leatherette seats, reverse camera and LED lighting on higher variants.

The Battery as a Service option lowers the entry price by Rs 2.64 lakh. Customers choosing this plan pay a battery rental fee of Rs 3.2 per kilometre.

EVs offered with BaaS – MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV became part of the Battery as a Service programme in September 2024. Equipped with a 50.3kWh battery pack, the electric SUV carries a subscription fee of Rs 4.5 per kilometre. The ZS EV competes against rivals like the Creta Electric, Sierra EV and e Vitara to name a few.

The scheme reduces the upfront purchase price by as much as Rs 5.24 lakh, making it the largest cost reduction offered across MG’s electric vehicle range.

EVs offered with BaaS – Tata Punch EV

Tata Motors also offers the Punch EV under its Battery as a Service programme. While the standard model starts from Rs 9.69 lakh, the subscription plan lowers the initial purchase cost by Rs 3.20 lakh. Customers opting for this scheme pay a battery rental charge of Rs 2.6 per kilometre.

The Punch EV is offered in two battery packs, a 30 kWh version and a larger 40 kWh battery pack. The 40 kWh variants get a lifetime warranty on the battery pack.

EVs offered with BaaS – Tata Tiago EV

The Tata Tiago EV just received a facelift in the month of May. With the facelift Tata motors also introduced the Battery as a Service scheme for the Tiago EV and the starting price drops to Rs 4.69 lakh, reducing the upfront cost by Rs 2.30 lakh.

The Tiago EV is available with two battery packs, the 19.2 kWh battery pack and the larger 24 kWh battery pack. The battery subscription fee is Rs 2.6 per kilometre. Tata Motors is yet to announce the complete variant wise Battery as a Service pricing.

EVs offered with BaaS – Citroen eC3X

Citroen introduced the Battery as a Service option for the eC3X as part of its June 2026 update. The scheme reduces the purchase price by up to Rs 5.26 lakh. Buyers pay a battery subscription fee of Rs 2.26 per kilometre, the lowest among all manufacturers currently offering this model.

The plan comes with a minimum monthly commitment of 2,000 kilometres, translating to Rs 4,520 per month. Customers who do not choose the Battery as a Service option can instead avail an introductory discount of up to Rs 1.50 lakh.

EVs offered with BaaS – Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle, the e Vitara, is also available with a Battery as a Service plan. The subscription fee varies depending on the battery pack selected.

Customers choosing the 49kWh battery pay Rs 3.99 per kilometre, while those opting for the larger battery 61 kWh pack pay Rs 4.39 per kilometre.

EVs offered with BaaS – Kia Carens Clavis EV

Kia introduced Battery as a Service for the Carens Clavis EV in May 2026, making it the only electric MPV in India currently offered with this ownership model.

The subscription fee is Rs 3.3 per kilometre for both the 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery options. Depending on the variant, buyers can reduce the upfront purchase cost by up to Rs 6.06 lakh.

EVs offered with BaaS – Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Toyota’s first electric vehicle for India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella, is also offered with a Battery as a Service option. The top specification E3 variant uses a 61kWh battery pack with a claimed driving range of 543 kilometres.

Under the subscription plan, the upfront purchase price is reduced to Rs 15.25 lakh, while the battery rental fee is fixed at Rs 4.99 per kilometre, making it the highest subscription charge among the models listed here.

EVs offered with BaaS – Hyundai Creta Electric

Hyundai recently introduced the Battery as a Service model for the Creta Electric, making it the latest manufacturer to adopt this ownership approach. The SUV is available with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack options.

Under the scheme, prices start from Rs 10.99 lakh, reducing the upfront cost by up to Rs 7 lakh, while the battery subscription fee is Rs 3.9 per kilometre. Hyundai has currently announced BaaS pricing only for the base variant, with prices for the remaining variants yet to be revealed.

With Hyundai joining the list, Battery as a Service is steadily becoming a mainstream ownership option across India’s electric vehicle market, giving customers greater flexibility while reducing one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption.

The standard Hyundai Creta Electric continues to be priced between Rs 18.03 lakh and Rs 24.70 lakh (ex showroom). The BaaS model effectively reduces the upfront purchase price by around Rs 7 lakh, while customers pay separately for battery usage based on the subscription plan they choose.

Hyundai Creta Electric – Exterior Design

Along with the introduction of the BaaS ownership model, Hyundai has also equipped the Creta Electric with an integrated side foot step. In terms of styling, the Creta Electric closely resembles its internal combustion engine counterpart while incorporating several EV specific design elements.

At the front, it features an enclosed grille with a pixel inspired design. The charging port is neatly integrated into the centre of the grille, while the lower front bumper gets active air flaps that claim to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The SUV also gets specially designed 17 inch aero alloy wheels that further distinguish it from the regular Creta.

Hyundai Creta Electric – Interior Design and Features

Inside, the Creta Electric comes equipped with dual 10.25 inch displays that serve as the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The layout is largely shared with the ICE version, although one of the biggest differences is the column mounted gear selector replacing the conventional floor mounted gear lever.

The feature list includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, automatic climate control, Vehicle to Load functionality, a 360 degree camera, digital key and connected car technology. Hyundai also offers a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS package that includes Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go functionality. Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, all four disc brakes, Hill Start Assist and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Hyundai Creta Electric – Battery Pack, Range and Charging

The Hyundai Creta Electric is available with two battery pack options. The entry level version uses a 42 kWh battery pack with a claimed driving range of 420 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 510 km on a full charge.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a single electric motor. The larger battery variant develops 171 hp and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. The smaller battery pack is paired with a 135 hp electric motor.

Charging duties are handled by DC fast charging, which can recharge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 39 minutes under ideal conditions. Hyundai continues to offer an eight year or 1,60,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first. The home charger supplied with Home Charger variants has now been updated to a 7.4 kW wall box charger, the earlier version was a 11 kW unit.

Hyundai Creta Electric – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Hyundai Creta Electric competes in one of the fastest growing electric SUV segments in the country. Its rivals include the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, MG Windsor Pro, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Mahindra BE 6 and the recently launched Tata Sierra EV.

Among these competitors, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, MG Windsor Pro and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella already offer Battery as a Service ownership models. The Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Sierra EV currently do not offer a BaaS option, making Hyundai’s latest move an important step towards improving affordability and expanding customer choice in the electric SUV segment.

While further details of the facelifted Kwid are awaited, previous spy shots have hinted that the hatchback could adopt an exterior design inspired by the Dacia Spring EV along with a refreshed interior. This will be Renault’s second product launch of the year. The first and most significant was the return of the Duster nameplate with the third generation model, which debuted in January and was launched in March, marking the comeback of the Duster after a gap of four years.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Expected Exterior Design

The 2026 Renault Kwid is expected to receive a comprehensive styling update with several design elements inspired by the Dacia Spring EV. Spy shots suggest the hatchback will feature new Y shaped LED daytime running lamps along with matching Y shaped tail lamps, giving the car a more contemporary appearance. These changes are expected to make the Kwid look more in line with Renault’s latest global design language while helping it stand out in the entry level hatchback segment.

The main headlamps are expected to continue with halogen units, while both the front and rear bumpers are likely to receive a revised design. Renault is also expected to introduce a fresh set of alloy wheels along with updated body cladding and new exterior colour options. Despite these styling revisions, the overall proportions and dimensions of the Kwid are expected to remain unchanged. The hatchback is also likely to retain its class leading ground clearance, which has been one of its strongest selling points since launch. However, all these details will only be confirmed once the car is officially unveiled tomorrow.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Expected Interior And Features

Inside, the facelifted Kwid is also expected to borrow several design cues from the Dacia Spring EV. The cabin could feature a redesigned dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new multifunction steering wheel and a revised digital instrument cluster. Renault is expected to retain the practical cabin layout while improving the overall fit and finish with new upholstery and interior trims.

The feature list is also expected to receive an update. Wireless smartphone connectivity, rear parking camera, steering mounted controls and electrically adjustable outside mirrors are likely to continue. Renault is also expected to strengthen the safety package by offering six airbags, a feature that is becoming increasingly common even in the entry level hatchback segment. Other safety equipment such as ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and electronic stability control are also expected to be part of the package depending on the variant. The complete feature list will only be confirmed at launch.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Expected Powertrain

Mechanically, the Renault Kwid facelift is expected to remain unchanged. Power is likely to come from the same 1.0 litre three cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 68 hp and 91 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to continue offering a balance of fuel efficiency and city friendly performance.

Transmission options are also expected to remain unchanged with buyers getting a choice between a five speed manual gearbox and a five speed AMT. Renault is also expected to continue offering the dealer fitted CNG kit for customers looking for lower running costs. No changes are expected to the suspension or chassis setup.

Renault Kwid Facelift – Market Positioning and Rivals

The facelifted Kwid is expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 4.30 lakh and Rs 5.88 lakh ex showroom. Renault will announce complete prices, variant wise features and technical specifications when the Kwid facelift is officially launched on July 3. Once launched, it will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti Suzuki S Presso and Maruti Suzuki Celerio in the highly competitive entry level hatchback segment.

The Skoda Kodiaq RS is brought to India via the CBU route and is priced Rs 20 lakh higher than the locally assembled top of the line Kodiaq L and K, which costs Rs 46.99 lakh. It is also Rs 30 lakh more expensive than the base Lounge variant, which is priced at Rs 36.99 lakh. While the performance focused SUV continues to use the same 2 litre turbo petrol engine as the standard Kodiaq, it has been extensively retuned to produce significantly higher power and torque figures. This is Skoda Auto India’s second launch of the year following the introduction of the facelifted Skoda Kushaq earlier in 2026.

Skoda Kodiaq RS – Exterior Design

In terms of design, the Kodiaq RS stands apart from the standard model with a more aggressive and sporty appearance. The SUV rides on 20 inch alloy wheels and features several gloss black exterior elements that are exclusive to the RS model. These include the grille surround, wing mirror covers, window trims, roof rails and D pillar, while the Skoda lettering on the tailgate is also finished in black to further distinguish it from the regular Kodiaq.

The SUV also gets RS specific front and rear bumpers that lend it a more purposeful stance. Lighting duties are handled by LED Matrix beam headlamps along with advanced LED tail lamps featuring dynamic turn indicators. Buyers can choose from four exterior paint options including Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Grey.

Skoda Kodiaq RS – Interior Design And Features

Inside, the Skoda Kodiaq RS carries forward the sporty theme with a predominantly black cabin finished with contrasting red stitching. The SUV comes equipped with electrically adjustable front sports seats featuring integrated head restraints and memory function. The front seats also offer heating, ventilation and massage functions.

The cabin also gets a multifunction leather steering wheel, sporty pedal covers and acoustic front side windows that improve cabin refinement by reducing outside noise. The dashboard houses a 10 inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 13 inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system featuring RS specific graphics.

Other equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, rear window sunblinds, three zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charger and a 13 speaker Canton sound system with a subwoofer. These features make the Kodiaq RS one of the most comprehensively equipped SUVs in its segment.

Skoda Kodiaq RS – Powertrain And Safety

Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine that develops 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Compared to the standard Kodiaq, this represents an increase of 61 hp and 80 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

Skoda claims the Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds, making it the quickest Skoda ever launched in the Indian market. The SUV also benefits from progressive steering, which varies the steering ratio depending on steering input, along with Dynamic Chassis Control featuring adaptive dampers. The suspension system offers 15 different settings, allowing drivers to choose between a softer ride for comfort or a firmer setup.

On the safety front, the Kodiaq RS comes equipped with nine airbags, a full suite of ADAS features and all mandatory safety equipment required under current regulations.

Skoda Kodiaq RS – Market Positioning And Rivals

Priced at Rs 66.99 lakh ex showroom, the Skoda Kodiaq RS occupies a niche position in the Indian market. While it does not have a direct rival, its pricing places it alongside several entry level luxury SUVs from premium manufacturers. However, the Kodiaq RS distinguishes itself by combining everyday practicality, three row seating and performance in a package that carries Skoda’s RS heritage.

The allocation of just 50 units for India was completely sold out within six minutes of bookings opening. While Skoda Auto India has not officially confirmed whether additional units will be allocated, the strong demand for the limited batch suggests there is sufficient interest for the company to consider bringing more examples of the Kodiaq RS to the country in the future.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – Renault Kwid Facelift

Renault will kick off the month with the updated Kwid, which is scheduled to make its debut on July 3. First introduced in 2015 and updated in 2019, the current generation has been on sale for nearly seven years. The facelift is expected to bring revised styling inspired by the Dacia Spring sold overseas, along with updates to the interior and equipment list.

Mechanically, the Kwid is expected to retain its familiar 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 69hp and 92.5Nm, paired with either a five speed manual gearbox or an AMT. The facelift is likely to carry a small premium over the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 4.30 lakh and Rs 5.88 lakh, ex showroom. It will also become Renault’s second car launch of the year after the return of the Duster earlier in 2026.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – Nissan Tekton

Nissan is all set to unveil the Tekton on July 9. Positioned as the company’s midsize SUV for India, the Tekton shares its platform and mechanicals with the Renault Duster but features completely redesigned exterior styling inspired by the flagship Nissan Patrol and Nissan calls it the “Baby Patrol.”

The SUV is expected to offer a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 100hp and 166Nm along with a more powerful 1.3 litre turbo petrol unit developing 163hp and 280Nm. Both engines are likely to be available with a six speed manual gearbox, while the 1.3 litre version will also get a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It remains to be seen whether the hybrid powertrain available internationally on the Duster will eventually make its way to the Tekton. Prices are expected to be close to the Renault Duster’s Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh ex showroom range.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift

The next upcoming car launch in July is the facelifted Brezza later this month. The updated SUV has already been spotted testing several times and is expected to receive refreshed styling, redesigned alloy wheels and a larger 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system replacing the current 9 inch unit.

One of the biggest expected changes is under the bonnet. The facelifted Brezza could become the first version of the SUV to receive Maruti Suzuki’s 1.0 litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engine producing 100hp and 148Nm. A new six speed manual gearbox could also be introduced. The current 1.5 litre petrol engine and CNG option are also expected to continue. Another important update could be the introduction of the new underbody mounted CNG tank, improving luggage space without compromising practicality.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – MG New SUV

JSW MG Motor India is also expected to expand its portfolio with a new three row SUV, widely believed to be based on the Wuling Starlight 560. The SUV measures 4,745mm in length and offers seating for seven passengers while packing several premium features including LED lighting, 18 inch alloy wheels, a 12.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8 inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charging.

Globally, the SUV is offered with both plug in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The plug in hybrid combines a 1.5 litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery, delivering 195hp and a claimed driving range of over 1,000km. The electric version uses a 69.2kWh battery with a claimed CLTC range of 530km. MG has not yet confirmed which version will be launched in India.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – New Generation Toyota Hilux

Toyota is expected to introduce the ninth generation Hilux in India later this month. Based on the latest IMV body on frame platform, the new pickup receives a significantly redesigned exterior with slimmer LED headlamps, a larger grille, vertically stacked tail lamps and a more rugged appearance.

The cabin also receives a complete overhaul with twin 12.3 inch displays, a redesigned dashboard, wireless phone charging, powered and ventilated front seats and several new comfort features. Power is expected to come from Toyota’s familiar 2.8 litre diesel engine producing 204hp and 500Nm, paired with the new 48V mild hybrid system already introduced on the Fortuner Neo Drive. However all these specs and features mentioned are based on the global specifications, what makes it to the India spec model will only be confirmed at launch.

Upcoming Car Launches July 2026 – Honda ZR-V Hybrid

Honda will round off the month with the launch of the ZR V Hybrid, which will become the company’s flagship SUV in India. Pre bookings have already been open since May, with deliveries expected to begin shortly after launch.

The SUV comes equipped with LED headlamps, 18 inch alloy wheels, a 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, dual zone climate control, wireless charging and a 12 speaker Bose audio system. Power comes from Honda’s proven 2.0 litre petrol hybrid setup that combines two electric motors to produce 184hp and 315Nm through an e CVT gearbox. Honda claims a fuel efficiency figure of 22.79kpl. As the SUV will be imported as a completely built unit, prices are expected to fall between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh, ex showroom.
