2025 Renault Kiger Facelift Launched at Rs 6.30 lakh: Changes, New Features Explained

Renault India has launched the updated Renault Kiger, debuting in 2021 the Kiger is currently the only SUV the brand has on sale. With 2 engine and transmission options and prices starting at just ₹6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).  The refreshed model brings enhancements, spanning design, technology, comfort, and safety. The Kiger also wears the new 2-Dimension Renault logo which was first seen in India on the updated Triber that was launched last month.

Renault Kiger – Exterior Design

The updated Renault Kiger gets a sharper front fascia with a redesigned front grille, sculpted hood, and new front bumper. The SUV now features revised LED headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps, alongside fresh C-pillar and side decals. Diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels new skid plates and a new rear bumper add to the stance of the vehicle.  Also on offer are functional roof bars with 50 kg load capacity.Renault Kiger

A major highlight is the addition of two new colours namely, Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey. These new colours join the existing palette of Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, and Stealth Black. Turbo variants are further distinguished with Turbo badges on the side.  There are also dual tone paint options on higher trims, which are available free of cost on the turbo variant but command a premium on the naturally aspirated variants.

Renault Kiger – Interior Design and Features 

Inside, the Renault Kiger offers an updated cabin setup. Changes include ventilated leatherette seats, a dual-tone dashboard, contrast stitching details on steering and gear knobs. Renault claims enhanced noise insulation materials have been used for improved cabin quietness.

On the technology front, the Kiger comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system is paired with a 3D Arkamys six-speaker setup. Practical additions include wireless charging, auto headlamps, automatic wipers, 360-degree camera, USB charging points, and a “Belongings Take Away” alert, which reminds users not to leave items behind in the car.

The SUV continues to offer 405 litres of boot space, 29 litres of cabin storage, and a cooled glove box. Rear passengers benefit from AC vents, a foldable armrest, and a split-folding seat in a 60:40 ratio.

Renault Kiger – Engine and Powertrain

The Renault Kiger retains its two-engine lineup. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 72 Hp and 96 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Fuel efficiency stands claimed at 19.83 kmpl (ARAI-certified). The more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 100 Hp and 160 Nm. It offers two transmission choices: a 5-speed manual and an automatic X-Tronic CVT.

With efficiency claimed at 20.38 kmpl (ARAI). Additionally, Renault has introduced Mirror Bore Coating technology, a feature claimed to reduce internal friction and improve engine durability.  The Kiger also offers three drive modes: Eco, Normal and Sport.

Renault Kiger – Safety Features

Safety features also get a major boost in the facelifted Renault Kiger, which now offers 21 standard features across all variants. This includes six airbags (front, side, and curtain), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seat belts for every occupant.

Other notable inclusions are tyre pressure monitoring, pedestrian protection features, and a “Take-a-Break” reminder in higher trims. The SUV continues to be underpinned by the CMFA+ platform, its predecessor featured a 4-star Global NCAP rating.

Renault Kiger – Pricing and Variants

As mentioned earlier the updated Renault Kiger is offered with two engine choices, a turbo-petrol and a naturally aspirated petrol. The Turbo range is priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Techno CVT and ₹11.29 lakh for the Emotion CVT, while the Emotion manual variant is listed at ₹9.99 lakh. The naturally aspirated Energy variants start at ₹6.29 lakh for the base Authentic trim, with prices extending up to ₹9.14 lakh for the top-spec Emotion manual. The Easy-R AMT option is available in Evolution and Techno trims, priced at ₹7.59 lakh and ₹8.69 lakh respectively.

Renault Kiger – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Renault Kiger enters a competitive market, where it locks horns with both compact and Micro SUVs like the Hyundai Exter & Venue, Tata Punch & Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Maruti Brezza. With its refreshed styling, turbo engine, and enhanced feature set, the Kiger aims to attract buyers from both the segments. Renault also says the SUV as E20 fuel-ready, with an option for retrofitted CNG in manual trims.
