Hyundai Knight Series Launched: Creta Electric, i20 and Alcazar Knight Join Lineup- See Changes

Hyundai Motor India has expanded its popular Knight range with the launch of the Hyundai Knight Series, introducing the Creta Electric Knight, i20 Knight, and Alcazar Knight. The announcement comes ahead of the festive season, adding to the existing Knight lineup of Creta, Venue, and Exter. With prices starting at ₹9.14 lakh for the i20 Knight and going up to ₹24.54 lakh for the Creta Electric Knight LR (with home charger), the new series focuses on bold design, blacked-out styling elements, and feature updates across models. Most recently Hyundai launched the Creta King Edition to celebrate 10 years of the Creta’s sales in India.

Hyundai Knight Series – Exterior Design

The Hyundai Knight Series builds on the success of the black-themed editions first launched in 2022. Exteriors have been redesigned to feature black alloy wheels, painted skid plates, roof rails, door mirrors, and a rear spoiler. The Hyundai logos are finished in matte black, while the body gets an exclusive Knight emblem. To add a sportier touch, red brake calipers have been introduced.Hyundai Knight Series

Inside, the Knight Series maintains an all-black theme, complemented by brass-coloured inserts on the dashboard and upholstery. The mix of black and brass gives the cabin a distinctive premium appearance while staying consistent across all models.

Hyundai Knight Series – Interior Design

The interiors of the Hyundai Knight Series reflect the same attention to style as the exteriors. The i20 Knight now comes with a dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a sportier rear spoiler as part of the feature update. The Alcazar Knight in its Signature variant also gains a dashcam for additional convenience and safety. Cabin highlights across the range include black seat upholstery with brass stitching, brass accents on panels, and sporty metal pedals, creating a spory atmosphere for the driver and passengers alike.

Hyundai Knight Series – Engine and Powertrain

The three additions in the Hyundai Knight Series cater to different segments of buyers. The Creta Electric Knight is offered with two battery pack options. The first is a 42 kWh pack with a claimed range of 420 kilometres, while the second is a larger 51.4 kWh pack with a range of 510 kilometres, as per ARAI certification.

The i20 Knight continues with the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and is available in Sportz (O) manual and Asta (O) automatic trims. Meanwhile, the Alcazar Knight offers two options, including the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the 1.5-litre diesel with a six-speed automatic.

Hyundai Knight Series – Safety Features

The Hyundai Knight Series also adds to the safety suite of the models. The Alcazar Knight now comes with a dashcam in its Signature trim, adding an extra layer of security for customers. The i20 Knight has also been upgraded with dashcam functionality in its Asta (O) IVT and N Line versions. These inclusions supplement existing features such as multiple airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, and parking sensors. By bringing advanced features into lower segments, Hyundai is making safety more accessible across their model portfolio.

Hyundai Knight Series – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Hyundai Knight Series is positioned as a dark-theme alternative to Hyundai’s regular trims. Its emphasis on blacked-out aesthetics and exclusive branding responds to growing consumer demand for distinctive special editions. With more than 77,000 Knight Edition models sold since the format was introduced in 2022, Hyundai is building on a proven formula.

The i20 Knight competes directly with the Maruti Baleno RS and Tata Altroz Dark Edition in the premium hatchback segment. The Alcazar Knight takes on larger rivals such as the MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari Dark Edition. The Creta Electric Knight, with its 510 km claimed range in the long-range variant, steps into a competitive EV market where it will be judged against the MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon EV.

Hyundai Knight Series – Pricing

Pricing for the Hyundai Knight Series spans across multiple segments. The i20 Knight starts at ₹9.14 lakh for the Sportz (O) manual and goes up to ₹11.34 lakh for the Asta (O) IVT Knight. The Alcazar Knight is priced at ₹21.65 lakh for both its petrol dual-clutch and diesel automatic Signature trims. The Creta Electric Knight is the most expensive in the range, priced between ₹21.44 lakh for the 42 kWh Excellence variant and ₹24.54 lakh for the 51.4 kWh long-range version with a home charger.
