Nissan India is all set to introduce the much-awaited Nissan Gravite in India tomorrow, marking the brand’s entry into the compact MPV space. The upcoming Gravite has already been previewed through multiple teaser videos released by the company over the past weeks, giving us a fair idea of what buyers can expect from this practical family-focused offering.

The Gravite is based on the same CMF-A+ platform that underpins the Renault Triber, sharing its structure, dimensions and mechanical components. However, Nissan is expected to differentiate the Gravite through unique styling tweaks and feature additions. The Gravite will primarily target buyers looking for an affordable 7-seater compact MPV with everyday usability.
Nissan Gravite – Expected Exterior Design
In terms of exterior design, the Nissan Gravite is expected to retain the practical silhouette of a three-row compact MPV. The Gravite carries a tall roofline and compact bonnet design that maximises interior space while keeping the footprint manageable for urban usage. Triber-like proportions are clearly evident, although teaser visuals indicate that the Gravite will feature Nissan’s new design language.

The Gravite is likely to get LED lighting elements, a sporty grille design, sculpted bumpers, and redesigned tail lamps to visually separate it from its Renault counterpart. Roof rails and body cladding are also expected to be offered on the Gravite to add to its family-oriented yet modern styling approach.
Nissan Gravite – Expected Interior Design and Features
The cabin layout of the Gravite has already been partially revealed through official teaser footage. The Gravite is expected to feature a centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system along with a semi-digital instrument cluster. The Nissan Gravite will be offered in a seven-seat 5+2 seating layout, focusing heavily on practicality and flexibility.

The second-row seats in the Gravite are expected to offer tumble down function for easier third-row access. The removable third-row seats in the Gravite will allow users to free up additional luggage space when required. The Gravite is also expected to offer wireless smartphone connectivity, rear AC vents, push-button start, multiple charging ports and a possible 360-degree camera on higher variants.

Nissan Gravite – Expected Powertrain
Powering the Gravite is expected to be a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that also does duty in the Triber. In the Gravite, this engine is likely to produce around 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options on the Gravite are expected to include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT automatic. No official performance figures for the Gravite have been released yet, and these details will be confirmed at launch.
Nissan Gravite – Expected Safety Features
In terms of safety, the Gravite is expected to offer six airbags along with standard features such as ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Additional safety equipment on the Nissan Gravite may include Electronic Stability Control, front and rear parking sensors and a factory-fitted front and rear dashcam. Since the Nissan Gravite shares its platform with the Triber, a similar structural safety performance may be expected, although official crash test ratings for the Nissan Gravite are yet to be released.

Nissan Gravite – Expected Price and Rivals
Once launched, the Gravite will directly rival the Renault Triber in the compact MPV segment. The Gravite will also be positioned as an alternative to premium hatchbacks such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Suzuki Swift for buyers seeking additional seating capacity and interior flexibility at a similar price point. Pricing for the Gravite is expected to be competitive, closely aligned with the Triber
