Nissan Motor India has officially launched the new Nissan Gravite compact MPV in India, marking the brand’s entry into the affordable three-row people-mover space. Priced at an introductory price of ₹5.65 lakhs ex-showroom, with bookings opening tonight. Based on the same CMF-A+ platform that underpins the Renault Triber, the Gravite aims to offer practicality, flexibility and a more premium design approach for buyers looking for a budget-friendly family car. This is one of the few launches that Nissan has lined up for the year, with the Gravite being the first in a series of upcoming introductions that will be followed by the Nissan Tekton, Nissan’s version of the Renault Duster and then a premium 7-seat C-SUV.
Nissan Gravite – Exterior Design
In terms of design, the Nissan Gravite carries Nissan’s global design language with a bold front fascia, featuring a sculpted bonnet with Gravite lettering placed on the front edge, along with a large grille finished in gloss black and sleek headlamps with LED DRLs. The sub-4m MPV also gets contrast skid plates, functional roof rails and 15-inch alloy wheels that lend it a slightly rugged appearance despite its people-carrier proportions.

There is also body cladding around the wheel arches with integrated orange reflectors that further add to its SUV-inspired styling cues. The rear profile features LED tail lamps and a sculpted tailgate with silver accents on the bumper to distinguish it from its Renault Triber sibling. The Nissan Gravite is offered in five exterior colour options, including Forest Green, Onyx Black, Metallic Grey, Great Silver and Storm White.
Nissan Gravite – Interior Design and Features
Inside the cabin, the Nissan Gravite comes equipped with a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a fully digital instrument cluster. The three-row layout retains the modular seating setup seen on the Renault Triber, allowing users to remove the third row entirely to free up additional boot space when required.
The MPV also features steering-mounted controls and multiple storage spaces across the cabin for added convenience. Nissan is offering the Gravite with flexible seating configurations to better suit varying passenger and luggage requirements. Additional features include rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors, follow-me-home headlamps, wireless charging, auto LED headlamps and cruise control.
Nissan Gravite – Powertrain and Safety
Powering the Gravite is the familiar 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. The engine is offered with both a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option. At the launch event, Nissan Motor India also stated that an upcoming dual CNG variant featuring dual CNG tanks will be introduced shortly as a dealer-fitted option for the Gravite.
In terms of safety, the Gravite comes equipped with six airbags as standard along with Traction Control, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts and other such safety features. It also features a factory-fitted front and rear dashcams on the launch edition to enhance on-road safety and provide added convenience for users.
Nissan Gravite – Variant Lineup
The Gravite is offered in five trim levels — Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Limited Launch Edition — with a total of eight variants on offer. The 1.0 MT powertrain is available across all five trims, while the 1.0 AMT gearbox is offered on the higher N-Connecta, Tekna and Limited Launch Edition variants.

The Gravite is also being offered with a special Limited Launch Edition that gets a few additional cosmetic and feature upgrades over the standard variants. This edition comes equipped with JBL speakers, dual dash cams, ambient lighting, an in-cabin air purifier and neck pillows for added comfort. On the outside, it also features exclusive exterior decals along with orange accents around the bumpers to set it apart from the regular trims.
Nissan Gravite – Nissan 2026 Roadmap
At the launch event, Nissan Motor India also stated that it is aiming to grow its presence in the country this year by expanding its dealership network from around 150 outlets to nearly 250 by the end of the year, along with a parallel expansion of its service network. The company has also committed to introducing three new products for the Indian market as part of its latest product offensive, including the Nissan Gravite. The two other upcoming products include the Nissan Tekton, which is essentially Nissan’s version of the Renault Duster, along with a premium seven-seat C-SUV.
Nissan Gravite – Market Positioning and Rivals
In terms of market positioning, the Gravite primarily rivals the Renault Triber, while also being positioned in a price bracket that overlaps with premium hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The Gravite has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 5.65 lakh, which is limited to the first 1,001 customers. Bookings for the MPV open tonight on the official Nissan Motor India website, while customers can also visit authorised Nissan dealerships to reserve the vehicle. Notably, the Gravite undercuts the model it is based on, the Triber, whose base variant is priced at Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
