Upcoming Car Launches in April 2026 to Look Out For

March turned out to be a packed month for the Indian automotive space with multiple launches across segments. From the facelifted Skoda Kushaq to the return of the Renault Duster there was no shortage of action. We also saw updates in the form of the Hyundai Exter and the Hyundai Verna which kept the momentum going in the mass market space.

On the premium end the spotlight was on the Lexus ES 500 e  along with the global unveiling of the Mercedes-Maybach S Class. With such a strong start to the year April is set to carry forward the excitement with a fresh set of launches across segments.

April Car Launches – MG Majestor

One of the first big launches expected this month is the MG Majestor. The SUV was unveiled earlier this year in February and bookings had already commenced at an amount of ₹41,000. Showroom previews are expected to begin in April while deliveries are likely to start in May 2026.

The Majestor is expected to be priced at around 45 lakh rupees and will replace the MG Gloster as the flagship SUV in the brand lineup. It will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tayron  in the segment. Under the hood it gets a 2 litre twin turbo diesel engine producing 215 Hp paired with an 8 speed automatic transmission. The SUV also comes equipped with four wheel drive featuring multiple terrain modes along with selectable drive options.

On the inside the Majestor gets a 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3 inch digital driver display. It also offers connected car technology wireless smartphone integration and a 12 speaker JBL sound system. Comfort features include electrically adjustable front seats with heating ventilation and massage function along with three zone climate control.

April Car Launches – Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Next in line is the facelifted Volkswagen Taigun which is expected to debut on April 9 2026. Spy shots have already revealed design updates especially at the front where it now takes inspiration from newer global Volkswagen SUVs like the Tayron and Tiguan.

The Taigun will continue to share its platform with the Skoda Kushaq and is expected to carry forward its existing powertrain options. These include a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 115 Hp and a 1.5 litre turbo petrol producing 150 Hp.

Transmission options are expected to include a manual gearbox and an updated automatic unit as seen on the Kushaq facelift. The 1.5 litre engine is likely to continue with a 7 speed DSG gearbox. While interior details are not fully confirmed the Tiguan is expected to offer features like a touchscreen infotainment system digital driver display automatic climate control and ventilated seats. It will be interesting to see how Volkswagen positions the feature list to stand apart from its Skoda sibling.

April Car Launches – Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric

Luxury electric mobility will see a strong addition with the launch of the Mercedes Benz CLA Electric on April 24 2026. Bookings for the model have already opened at ₹1.5 lakh rupees.

The CLA Electric will be offered in two variants standard range and long range with expected prices of ₹55 lakh rupees and ₹59 lakh rupees respectively. The standard range version offers a claimed WLTP range of 542 kilometres. The model supports fast charging and can add up to 320 kilometres of range in just 20 minutes using a high capacity DC fast charger.

Inside it features a 14 inch central touchscreen along with a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a panoramic glass roof wireless charging and multiple USB C ports. The long range variant uses a larger battery pack and produces 268 horsepower with a claimed range of up to 792 kilometres.

April Car Launches – Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella 

Rounding off the list is the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella which is expected to arrive soon after its unveiling earlier this year in January. The Ebella will be offered with two battery pack options 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Power outputs stand at 142 hp and 172 hp respectively with both versions producing 190 Nm of torque.

The larger battery variant offers a claimed range of 543 kilometres and supports both AC and DC fast charging. Feature highlights include Level 2 ADAS a 360 degree camera six airbags and ISOFIX mounts. Inside the SUV gets a 10.1 inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system ambient lighting panoramic glass roof and ventilated front seats along with a JBL sound system.
