Ather Rizta launched at Rs. 1.09 Lakhs; 160km range

Ather Energy has launched their latest offering, called Rizta at a price of Rs. 1.09 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Bengaluru). The new scooter is aimed at family buyers and is oriented towards practicality and useability rather than sportiness. Ather has also unveiled the Halo smart helmet with the Rizta at Ather’s community day.

Talking of the design, the Rizta employs a fairly conservative styling compared to rest of the Ather lineup. At the front you have a squarish handlebar cowl along with a flat front end. It also gets a a single LED headlight in the middle flanked by indicators on each sides. Towards the side profile, the Rizta features a concealed side stand, a long and flat side panel culminating in a minimalistic rear end with a reflector below. Ather also claims that the Rizta gets the biggest seat of any scooter sold in the market today along with a massive 56L underseat storage capacity.

The Rizta also features the latest AtherStack 6.0 software for its touchscreen that also acts as the instrument cluster giving it capabilities such as Over-The-Air updates, Whatsapp integration, a new mobile app, live location sharing, Theft and tow detection, Alexa voice assistant and more. In terms of safety, the scooter gets a front disc brake along with a first-in-segment skid control which prevents the rider from losing control during heavy braking maneuvers along with a traction control system.

Ather has also revealed the HALO smart helmets made in collaboration with Harman Kardon with features such as Wireless Charging, Connected technology, WearDetect tech, along with Ather ChitChat which enables the rider to talk to the pillion while on the go. The HALO smart helmet will be available at a price of Rs. 12,999 and is certified by ISI and DOT standards. There is also a Halo bit module on offer which can be retrofitted to rest of the Ather helmets available for a price of Rs. 4,999.

Ather Rizta Power, Range, Price

Underneath, the Rizta will come with an option of two battery packs- 2.9kWH and 3.7kWh with an IDC-claimed range of 123Km and 160Kms respectively. These are paired to a motor making 5.7HP. Just like other Ather scooters, it also gets a reverse assist along with MagicTwist regen system and auto-hold functionality that prevents it from rolling back on slopes. It will be offered in two variants- S and Z with the latter getting the choice of the larger battery pack as well.

Prices for the Rizta range from Rs, 1,09,999-1,44,999 (Ex-showroom Bengaluru). It competes with other electric scooters such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 Pro.
