Bentley India – SAVWIPL to Handle Sales, Service, and Strategy from July 2025

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has formally announced its newest addition to its Indian portfolio—Bentley. Beginning 1st July 2025, all Bentley India operations, including import, distribution, and after-sales service, will fall under SAVWIPL’s management. This marks a significant step for the Group, bringing the ultra-luxury British brand under its umbrella as the sixth brand in the portfolio after Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

Most recently Bentley globally revealed an updated version of its iconic winged “B” logo. This new logo will debut on an upcoming concept car in the UK.Bentley India

Bentley India – Operations Under SAVWIPL

Effective July 2025, Bentley India will become the central entity through which the brand will operate in the country. This includes all marketing, sales, after-sales, and customer engagement activities. Bentley India is a newly created group company, specifically formed to handle the British luxury carmaker’s strategy in the country.

This realignment allows SAVWIPL to consolidate its luxury operations while ensuring that Bentley’s exacting global standards for service and customer experience are maintained within the Indian market.

With this move, Bentley India joins an elite club of ultra-luxury brands—Lamborghini, Porsche, and Audi—already managed within SAVWIPL’s management ecosystem.

Bentley India Brand Director – Abbey Thomas

To steer the newly formed entity, Abbey Thomas has been appointed Brand Director of Bentley India. Thomas, a seasoned automotive industry executive, brings with him extensive experience in premium brand operations and strategic leadership. Mr. Thomas was previously Chief General Manger for SAVWIPL.

His appointment signals a focused effort to localize Bentley’s strategy for India while staying aligned with the global vision. Thomas is expected to drive Bentley India’s growth across major metros, expand retail touchpoints, and shape the brand’s customer experience journey in a market that is increasingly receptive to ultra-premium offerings.

Bentley India Dealer Network – Bengaluru and Mumbai First, Delhi Next

Initial retail operations for Bentley  will commence in Bengaluru and Mumbai, with these cities confirmed as the first official dealership locations. A New Delhi outlet is expected to follow shortly, allowing Bentley India to tap into all key luxury car markets in the country.

The brand’s India relaunch through this new framework comes at a time when the country’s high-net-worth population is rapidly growing, and interest in ultra-luxury vehicles is on the rise.

Bentley India – Ultra Luxury Segment in India

The announcement reflects the growing importance of India in the global luxury automotive landscape. While volumes in the ultra-luxury segment remain niche, India’s purchasing power and affinity for global brands have made it a strategic growth market.

Bentley India enters the field at a time when customer preferences are evolving beyond traditional luxury.  SAVWIPL’s strategy to group Bentley with its other high-end marques under a shared umbrella allows for logistical, technological, and back-end synergies. However, the company has clarified that Bentley India will operate independently in terms of branding, positioning, and customer experience, ensuring the brand’s individuality is not diluted within the Group.

Bentley India – Product Portfolio

Bentley’s current global lineup includes the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga, and Bentayga EWB. While the New Bentley Logo debuts on a concept car later next week, the brand has not officially confirmed when it will appear on existing models. In 2024, Bentley Mulliner introduced its first bespoke limited edition designed for India.

With Bentley now under its fold, SAVWIPL strengthens its foothold in the Indian luxury automotive segment. The move brings SAVWIPL’s total brand count to six, reflecting Volkswagen Group’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.

Bentley India – What This Means for Customers

For Indian customers, Bentley’s arrival under SAVWIPL ensures better service infrastructure, shorter lead times, and a consistent retail experience. This new arrangement may also streamline the customer onboarding process and enhance access to exclusive Bentley configurations, which often require coordination with the carmaker’s headquarters in Crewe, UK.

This structural change also implies enhanced parts availability, quicker servicing timelines, and potentially better after-sales support, especially as SAVWIPL continues to expand its dealer network and service footprint.
