Hyundai Exter Pro Pack launched at 7.98 lakh: Differences over Regular model

Hyundai Motor India has introduced the Hyundai Exter Pro Pack, an accessory package available from the S+ trim upward. The update adds cosmetic refinements, expands safety tech, and offers a new matte paint option for a reported starting price of ₹7.98 lakh (ex-showroom), approximately ₹5,000 more than the standard trims it builds upon. The Pro Pack does not include mechanical changes, focusing strictly on visual and feature updates. Most recently Hyundai celebrated 10 years of the Creta in India.

Hyundai Exter Pro Pack – Exterior Design

The package enhances the Hyundai Exter Pro Pack with more pronounced wheel arch cladding and a grey side sill garnish that provide a subtly rugged look. The variant also introduces a Titan Grey Matte exterior—a first for the Exter range of models. The addition of this new paint shade does add some level of  distinction from existing gloss finished models.  The Exter has dimensions of 3,815 mm in length, 1,710 mm in width, and 1,631 mm in height. Its wheelbase stands at 2,450 mm. The Pro Pack does not change the car’s existing dimensions in anyway and is solely a cosmetic enhancement.Hyundai Exter Pro Pack

Hyundai Exter Pro Pack – Interior Design

The Hyundai Exter Pro Pack retains the existing cabin layout and specification levels. The only interior change is the broader availability of a dashcam in the SX (O) AMT trim, previously confined to SX Tech and SX Connect variants. The core infotainment, ergonomics, and hardware remain identical to the standard Exter, and the list inlcudes a leather wrapped steering wheel, cooled glovebox, rear AC vents, Sunroof on higher variants, 8-inhc touchscreen with Wireless Anroid Auto and Apple Carplay (higher variants). The Exter also gets a boot capacity of 391 litres, but it misses a 60:40 split folding rear seats.

Hyundai Exter Pro Pack – Engine and Powertrain

There are no mechanical revisions with the Hyundai Exter Pro Pack. Power is supplied by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which puts out 83 hp and 114 Nm of torque, offered with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. CNG versions continue with 69 hp and 95.2 Nm, available only with a manual gearbox and dual-cylinder layout. These specs show that the drivetrain of the regular model has been untouched.

Hyundai Exter Pro Pack – Safety Features

Safety enhancements consist solely of the dashcam now being included in the SX (O) AMT variant—making the feature accessible across a broader model range. Existing safety equipment such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, and parking sensors continue unaffected, as the Pro Pack remains limited to cosmetic and minor feature updates.

Hyundai Exter Pro Pack – Market Positioning and Rivals

The Hyundai Exter Pro Pack enters a highly competitive micro-segment SUV market. Announcing the PRO Pack in Hyundai EXTER, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said,

“At HMIL, we are continuously evolving our product offerings to resonate with the aspirations of today’s young and progressive customers. The introduction of PRO Pack in Hyundai EXTER is a step further in this direction, combining bold styling, advanced technology and strong safety to create a truly distinctive value proposition. With its refreshed appeal, the PRO Pack in Hyundai EXTER strengthens our commitment to redefining customer delight and making every drive a PRO experience.”

Its direct competitor, the Tata Punch, continues to dominate in sales and also offered in EV guise. Other rival models include the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Citroen C3 (EV option offered), Nissan Magnite and entry trims, and the soon to be updated Renault Kiger. The Pro Pack aims to maintain the Exter’s competitiveness by offering subtle visual upgrades and a new matte paint option at a negligible price premium.
