Mercedes-Benz has silently revised it’s entry-level sedan, the A-Class Limousine as well as it’s performance-oriented hatchback sibling, the A45 S AMG. Both cars get revised exteriors along with a few features on the inside. The A-Class Limo is priced at Rs. 45.80 Lakh while the sportier A45 S AMG can be yours for Rs. 92.50 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Mercedes A-Class facelift Exterior

Talking of the A-Class Limo, exterior changes have been subtle and will be hard to notice to untrained eyes. At the front, it gets a new updated grille with a thinner chrome strip. The front bumper also receives changes in the form of redesigned intakes and styling cues. The shape of the headlights in the A-Class Limo remains the same, however they now come with reworked DRL strips. From the side profile, the A Limo remains the same barring a new design for the 17 inch alloys.

Towards the rear end, the story also remains largely the same as the front with revised taillamp details and subtle changes to the chrome trim only.

For the A45 S AMG, Mercedes has given it a new bumper with the revised headlamps from the A-Class Limo. At the rear, too, changes are restricted to a reprofiled bumper and reworked taillamps.

Mercedes A-Class facelift Interior & Features

On the inside, the A-Class twins remain largely unchanged. The most notable change are the new steering wheels with touch-capacitive controls. Mercedes has also removed the touchpad from the centre console which could be used in the older cars to operate the infotainment system.

Other additions to the features list are Keyless Entry and Go, Wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay functionality, the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system and Hands-free boot opening.

Mercedes A-Class facelift Engine & Gearbox

While mechanicals remain untouched, the A-Class Limo facelift is currently available only in the A200 guise. This variant gets powered by a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine making 163HP and 270NM. This is mated to a 7 speed DCT gearbox sending power to the front wheels and touching a top speed of 230Kmph. Mercedes says that the diesel A220d trim is in the works and should be on sale by the end of this year.

As for the A45 S AMG, it again continues unchanged with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol mated to an 8 speed DCT. This powertrain makes a whopping 421HP and 500NM of torque which is sent to all four wheels via a 4Matic+ AWD system. The A45 S AMG is one of the fastest hatchbacks in the world today doing the 0-100Kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 270Kmph
