Mercedes-Benz had unveiled the all new Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric last month. The company has now announced that the electric sedan will also be offered with a new variant for the Indian market called the CLA 200 Standard Range. The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric will replace the Mercedes A Class limousine along with the EQA electric SUV and the EQB electric SUV in the brand’s entry level electric lineup in India.
At the time of the initial announcement the car was introduced in a single variant known as the CLA 250 Plus Long Range with AMG Line styling. Mercedes-Benz has now confirmed that the CLA 200 Standard Range will also be available at launch, offering customers another option within the electric sedan lineup. The CLA 200 Standard Range offers a claimed WLTP driving range of 542 kilometres. The most recent launch from Mercedes-Benz in India was the Mercedes-Benz V-Class luxury MPV which was introduced at a price of Rs 1.4 crore ex showroom. Bookings for the CLA Electric are now open in India.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric – Exterior Design
The CLA 200 Standard Range will feature a slightly different styling theme when compared with the CLA 250 Plus Long Range. The standard range model will use the Progressive Line exterior design while the long range version features AMG Line design elements. Despite the change in styling package the overall design of both variants will remain the same. The silhouette, dimensions and coupe inspired roofline are expected to be identical.

At the front the CLA Electric features a sleek design with connected headlamps that stretch across the width of the car. The lighting signature gives the sedan a distinctive appearance. The rear design also follows a similar theme with connected tail lamps that enhance the modern look of the vehicle. The coupe inspired roofline further adds to the sporty stance of the electric sedan.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric – Interior Design and Features
Inside the cabin the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric 200 Standard Range is expected to offer the same layout and equipment as the CLA 250 Plus variant. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that both models will have similar equipment levels.
The CLA comes equipped with a 14 inch central touchscreen display along with a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include a panoramic glass roof with heat protection coating, a wireless charging system, and six USB C ports with 100 W fast charging support. The front seats are electrically adjustable and come with memory and heating functions. Rear passengers also get a centre armrest for additional comfort.

The interior will also feature comfort seats along with a multifunction sports leather steering wheel. Buyers will have two trim options for the cabin. The CLA gets 40:20:40 split folding rear seats with direct access to the boot. The electric sedan offers a boot space of 405 litres along with an additional 101 litre front storage compartment in the frunk
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric – Range and Charging
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 Standard Range offers a claimed WLTP driving range of 542 kilometres. The car uses an advanced electric architecture which enables faster charging capabilities. Using a 240 kilowatt DC fast charger the vehicle can add around 320 kilometres of range in just 20 minutes. This allows owners to recharge the battery quickly during long distance travel.
Mercedes-Benz will support customers with its MB Charge public charging ecosystem which includes more than 9,000 charging points across the network. This infrastructure is aimed at reducing range anxiety for electric vehicle owners. Customers will also have the option to install a home charging solution. Mercedes-Benz offers a wallbox charger with a charging capacity of up to 22 kilowatts. The charger will be available at a price of Rs 50,000 including installation. Customers who pre book the CLA Electric will receive this wallbox charger at no additional cost.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric – Price, Bookings and Deliveries
Mercedes-Benz has announced tentative prices for both variants of the CLA Electric. The CLA 200 Standard Range is expected to have a price of Rs 55 lakh ex showroom. The CLA 250 Plus Long Range will have a tentative price of Rs 59 lakh ex showroom.
The company has clarified that these prices may change depending on the foreign exchange rate at the time of the official launch which is expected around April 2026.
Bookings for the electric sedan are now open with a booking amount of Rs 1.5 lakh for both variants. Deliveries of the CLA 250 Plus Long Range are expected to begin from the end of April 2026. Deliveries of the CLA 200 Standard Range will begin from June 2026.
Both variants of the CLA Electric will be brought to India as completely built units. This marks an important step for Mercedes-Benz as it expands its electric vehicle portfolio in the country.
