The EQE SUV slots above the EQB to be flagship Mercedes electric SUV in India

Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-electric EQE SUV at a price of Rs. 1.39 Cr(Ex-showroom). It comes in the fully-loaded EQE 500 trim for India. It is the third EV in Mercedes’ India lineup and slots between the EQB SUV and EQS sedan.
Mercedes EQE SUV Design
Talking of styling, the new EQE SUV follows the familiar design of the latest Mercedes EVs. At the front there is a faux grille along with swept back headlamps. Towards the side, you have aerodynamic wheels which help increasing range and a connected light bar at the rear. The overall design uses a lot of curves just like the EQS sedan and the EQE sedan sold globally.
Mercedes EQE SUV Interior & Features
On the inside, the highlight is the massive 56 inch “Hyperscreen” infotainment system which is paired to a 15 speaker Burmester 3D Surround Sound System. Mercedes has used a generous amount of open-pore wood and leather inside to make the interiors luxurious. Other interesting bits of equipment include front massaging seats, air purifier with HEPA filter, ADAS Level 2 features, 12.3 inch digital cluster, 12.3 inch passenger screen, heads-up display, multi-zone climate control and more.
In terms of safety, the EQE SUV is equipped with 9 airbags, 360 degree camera, ABS+EBD, ESC, Lane Keep Assist, Auto Hold, Blind Spot Monitoring and a lot more.
Mercedes EQE SUV Powertrain
Underneath, the it derives power from a 90.56kWh battery with a claimed WLTP-range of 550Kms. The two motors on the other hand produce a massive 402HP and 858NM torque combined. Moreover, power is delivered to the four wheels through a 4Matic AWD system that can vary the torque based on need to each axle. Further, there is an Airmatic air suspension which can raise the ride height by 25mm when needed. 0-100Kmph is achieved in just 4.9 seconds while the top speed is claimed to be 210Kmph. For India, Mercedes is also offering the rough road package as standard.
Mercedes Benz is offering an 11kW AC charger with the car, although it also has the capability to support DC fast charging upto 170kW. Three levels of regen are standard which can be controlled via paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. A class-leading 10 year warranty is being offered on the battery along with a 2 year service interval.
Mercedes EQE SUV Price, Variant
Mercedes will be making the EQE SUV available in a single, fully-loaded EQE500 trim. It will be brought in as a CBU (Completely Built-Unit) and has been priced at Rs. 1.39 Cr. (Ex-showroom). The EQE SUV rivals other luxury electric SUVs such as the Audi Q8 E-tron, BMW iX and Jaguar I-Pace among else.
