Nissan Motor India has introduced the Nissan Gravite MPV in India, positioning it as a value-focused three-row offering derived from the facelifted Renault Triber. The model carries Nissan-specific styling cues and is now open for bookings online and at dealerships, with deliveries scheduled to begin shortly.

The Gravite is available in five trims – Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and a launch edition, priced between Rs 5.65 lakh and Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom). In comparison, the Triber comes in four variants – Authentic, Evolution, Techno and Emotion – priced from Rs 5.76 lakh to Rs 8.60 lakh. While the Gravite starts Rs 11,000 below the Triber’s base price, it is Rs 33,000 costlier at the top end.

Both models are underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform and share largely identical proportions. The Triber measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,739 mm in width, 1,643 mm in height and has a 2,636 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance stands at 182 mm and gets 15-inch styled wheels.

Power for both MPVs comes from a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 hp and 96 Nm, paired with either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Manual variants of both models can be retrofitted with CNG and carry a three-year warranty.

The cabin layout and equipment list are broadly similar, with a 5+2 seating arrangement and features such as LED DRLs, projector headlamps, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument display and cruise control. The Gravite’s launch edition adds a JBL audio system, dual-channel dashcam, ambient lighting and a cabin air purifier. Both vehicles are equipped with six airbags, TPMS, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS and hill start assist as standard.

Nissan offers a three-year/1 lakh km standard warranty, extendable up to 10 years or 2 lakh km, along with five years of zero service cost for the first 5,000 buyers and finance schemes beginning at 5.55 per cent interest. The Triber’s warranty can be extended up to seven years or 1.5 lakh km. Colour choices differ as well, with the Triber offered in six shades and the Gravite in five.
