The Skoda Slavia facelift has been caught testing, and this appears to be the first mid life update the car is getting since its launch in 2021. Based on the MQB A0 IN platform, the Slavia competes in the mid size sedan segment with the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Volkswagen Virtus. Skoda earlier this year facelifted the Skoda Kushaq and this would be the second facelift this year for the Czech carmaker when it launches.
Skoda Slavia Facelift – Expected Exterior Design
Spy shots of the Skoda Slavia facelift have revealed updated LED lighting elements inside the headlights and a fresh tail lamp design. The sedan is also expected to receive a revised grille similar to the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq, with integrated lighting elements. Both the front and rear bumpers are likely to be redesigned to give the sedan a sharper appearance.

A fresh set of alloy wheels is also expected to be introduced. However, the overall proportions and silhouette of the Slavia are likely to remain unchanged. Skoda is expected to focus on subtle styling changes rather than a complete redesign.

Skoda Slavia Facelift – Expected Interior Design and Features
The touchscreen infotainment system and steering wheel seen in the test mule appear similar to the current model. For reference, the existing Slavia comes equipped with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a two spoke steering wheel with silver scroll wheels for music controls and cruise functions. The screen could receive updated software and user interface changes similar to what was introduced on the Kushaq facelift.

Changes could be expected in the interior colour theme and seat upholstery. It remains to be seen whether Skoda will introduce a rear seat massage function, a feature that was added to the Kushaq facelift earlier this year. Features such as a single pane sunroof, wireless phone charger, 8 speaker sound system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, six airbags as standard and tyre pressure monitoring system are expected to be carried over from the current model.
Skoda Slavia Facelift – Expected Powertrain
The Slavia facelift is expected to retain its current petrol engine options. These include the 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 115 hp and the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine producing 150 hp.
The 1.0 litre engine is currently offered with a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic transmission. However, the automatic option could be replaced by the newer eight-speed torque converter unit that debuted on the Kushaq facelift.

The 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine is expected to continue with the seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. While a manual gearbox was available when the Slavia was first launched, it was later discontinued and there is no indication of its return.
Skoda Slavia Facelift – Market Positioning and Rivals
The Slavia continues to compete in the mid size sedan segment against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus. Prices are expected to see a slight increase over the current model due to the updates that come with the facelift.
Competition in the segment has intensified in 2026. The Hyundai Verna received a facelift earlier this year, while Honda introduced an updated City last month. With fresh styling and feature additions, the upcoming Skoda Slavia facelift will aim to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive mid size sedan segment.
