Tata Motors has launched the CNG version of the Nexon called the iCNG for a price of Rs. 8.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Along with this update, it has also announced that the Nexon.ev now gets a bigger battery with upto 489km of ARAI-claimed range as well as a Red #DARK edition.

Tata Nexon iCNG: what’s new

According to Tata, the Nexon iCNG is the first ever turbocharged CNG vehicle offered from the factory itself. Powered by the same 1.2L three-cylinder Revotron turbo-petrol engine as the standard Nexon, it sees a 20HP decline in power with it now making 100HP and 170NM while running on CNG. Notably, Tata has also given it a dual-cylinder technology due to which you still get 321L of boot space. Just like the other iCNG cars in it’s lineup, it also gets the capability to start on CNG mode along with a single ECU for both fuels which switches to petrol automatically when needed.

Besides this, there are no changes to the Nexon. The iCNG version is available in 8 variants with the pricelist given below:

Tata Nexon.ev: Bigger battery, Red #DARK edition

At the launch event, Tata has also announced that the Nexon.ev will be getting a bigger 45kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 489Km. This new battery, according to Tata will offer a real-world range of 350-370Km giving it a significant boost from the existing 40.5kWh battery pack. What’s more, it is available from the base Creative variant as well and is priced at a premium between Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 70,000 (Ex-showroom) compared to the same variants with the smaller battery pack. In terms of equipment, the Nexon.ev 45 gets a panoramic sunroof as an addition.

Another interesting update is the inclusion of the Red #DARK edition for the Nexon.ev priced from Rs. 17.19 Lakhs(Ex-showroom) which adds a blacked-out theme inside and out along with red accents and interior upholstery along with a Red Dark themed UI for the screens inside. Variant wise prices for the Nexon.ev 45 are given below:

The Nexon iCNG will compete with rivals like the Maruti Brezza CNG and Maruti Fronx CNG among others. The Nexon.ev with the bigger battery pack will however, go up against other EVs such as the recently launched MG Windsor EV, MG ZS EV and Mahindra XUV4OO.

Tata Motors has launched the Curvv.ev at a price of Rs. 17.49 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Built on the Acti.ev platform, it gets two battery size options giving it a maximum range of 585Kms. At the event, Tata also unveiled the ICE version of the Curvv which is slated to be launched in the next few weeks.

Tata Curvv.ev: Design & Interiors

The Curvv.ev features a unique SUV-coupe form factor which has trickled down to the mainstream market for the first time. The front end remains largely identical to the Nexon.ev featuring a high bonnet, a connected DRL strip along with vertically stacked headlamps on the sides. The side profile is where one sees the distinctive design with a tall stance and thick cladding as well as a sharply raked roofline culminating into the bootlid like a coupe. At the rear, it gets a high boot line with a thin connected lighting strip at its tip.

Inside, the dashboard is a lot more familiar with a grey and white dual-tone colour scheme. The centre of attraction is the 12.3 inch touchscreen which features wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Arcade.ev suite, 9 speaker JBL music system and Tata iRA connected car tech. Other notable pieces of equipment include a digital gauge cluster, touch based climate control panel, auto dimming IRVM, a panoramic sunroof, 6 way powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and more.

Safety features on the Curvv.ev include an ADAS L2 suite, 6 airbags, all-wheel-disc brakes, ESP, front parking sensors, EPB with autohold, Hill Hold Assist and Hill Descent Control among else.

Tata Curvv.ev: Powertrain & Variants

Underneath, the Curvv.ev gets an option of either 45kWh or 55kWh battery packs giving it an ARAI-certified range of 502Km and 585Km respectively. The 45kWh versions get a motor making 150HP and 215NM while the motor in the 55 version makes 167HP with the torque figures remaining the same. Tata says the higher-powered Curvv.ev 55 can do the 0-100 Kmph sprint in 8.6 seconds upto a 160Kmph top speed. It also gets 70kW DC fast charging capability along with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) as well.

As for the warranty, Tata is providing 8 years/1,60,000km on the HV battery and motor and 3 years/1,25,000Km coverage for the entire car.

The Curvv.ev 45 is offered in 3 variants- Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+S with the 55 version available in Accomplished, Accomplished+S, Empowered+ and Emporwered+A variants. Detailed pricing is linked below

Tata Curvv ICE version

At the event, Tata also unveiled the Curvv ICE versions which will be powered by a choice of three powertrains- a 1.2L turbo-petrol, a 1.2L direct-injection turbo-petrol and a 1.5L diesel. While the equipment list remains quite similar, it gets a different front end which puts makes it fit in with other Tata petrol and diesel SUVs such as the Harrier and Nexon. While the car has been revealed, it will be launched later in the first week of september. Both the Curvv and Curvv.ev have no direct rivals but sit in the same price range as other rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos among others.

Tata Motors has launched the most powerful version yet of its premium hatchback called the Altroz Racer. While it retains the 1.2L turbo-petrol engine from the iTurbo variants, it is now more powerful and gets a 6 speed MT. Priced at Rs. 9.49 Lakhs, it also gets more equipment inside.

Tata Altroz Racer: Design & Interiors

In line with the sporty theme of the Racer, Tata has given it a few exterior touches to enhance its design. Outside, there are three colours to choose from- Pure Grey, Avenue White and Atomic Orange with the latter being a new shade. You also have a contrasting black bonnet and roof with white stripes and blacked out alloy wheels. Besides these, there is also a ‘Racer’ badge on the front fenders.

Inside, there’s a lot more that has changed. The dashboard now gets orange accents around the AC Vents, there is a new leather-wrapped gear knob and new leatherette upholstery with a tri-stripe design. On the equipment front, there is a new 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system from its larger siblings, new 7 inch digital cluster, ventilated front seats, a 360 degree camera and a voice assisted sunroof as new additions. Besides this, it retains features such as auto projector headlamps, connected car tech, air purifier and rain sensing wipers among else. As of safety, it gets 6 airbags and ESC as standard across variants.

Tata Altroz Racer: Powertrain & Price

Under the hood, the Altroz Racer gets the same 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine as the iTurbo variants. However, this time around it gets the more powerful tune from the Nexon. It now produces 120HP and 170NM of torque and gets paired to a 6 speed manual transmission only. Tata has also put in a more sportier exhaust for the Racer version. Along with this update however, Tata has discontinued the iTurbo variants.

Talking of prices, the Altroz Racer is available in three variants- R1, R2 and R3 which are priced between Rs. 9.49-10.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer rivals the only other sporty hatchback rival, the Hyundai i20 N-Line.

Tata Motors has launched the #DARK editions for the facelifted Nexon and Nexon.ev. Priced from Rs.11.45 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), it brings a completely blacked out theme to the exteriors and interiors.

Tata Nexon #DARK edition; what’s changed

For the Nexon #DARK editions, tata has given the car a fully blacked out treatment outside. The car comes finished in an obsidian black paint shade with black alloys. The badges at the rear also come finished in a black colour. Inside, the car also gets an all-black theme with dual-tone black and blue leatherette upholstery and #DARK embroidered on the seats.

The feature list will be same as the variant it is based on, with the top variant getting features such as wireless smartphone charger, a “hidden”  capacitive touch panel for the climate controls, Amazon Alexa and more. The #DARK edition on the Nexon is priced at Rs. 35,000 over the corresponding regular variants and starts at a price of Rs. 11.45 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Under the hood, it will be available with all powertrain options and remains mechanically unchanged to the standard variants. The Nexon competes with other compact crossovers such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Nissan Magnite.

Tata Nexon.ev #DARK edition; what’s changed

Just like the petrol and diesel-powered Nexon, the Nexon.ev also gets similar treatment. On the outside, it also comes finished in an Obsidian black paint with blacked out alloys and badging making for a fully-blacked out look. Inside, it too gets two-tone leatherette seats with a black theme elsewhere. Tata is offering features such as SOS calling, Embedded Maps view in the digital cockpit and a blind-spot monitoring system as a part of the safety suite.

Also on offer are features such as a 9 speaker JBL music system, a 12.3 inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Arcade.ev app suite with 15+ apps. Under the hood, it is based on the Empowered+ LR variant which means it gets the larger 40.5kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 465Kms. The motor is rated at 145HP and 215NM while Tata also provides paddleshifters to control regen levels. The Nexon.ev also sports vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load technology which can be used to charge other EVs or electrical appliances. The Nexon.ev #DARK edition is based on the top-spec Empowered+ LR variant and is available at a premium of Rs. 10,000 over the standard variant at Rs. 19.29L(Ex-showroom).

Tata Motors has launched their fourth EV, the Punch.ev today. Based on the ALFA platform, it debut’s a new acti.ev EV architecture with batteries placed on the floor. Prices start from Rs. 10.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom).

Tata Punch.ev: Design

Talking of the exteriors, the Punch.ev deviates significantly from its Petrol-powered sibling and gets sharper elements. It follow’s Tata’s latest design philosophy with vertically mounted headlamps and sharp creases in the bumper. Being an EV, Tata has completely eliminated the front grille and the charging port flap sits on the nose of the Punch.ev.

There is also a new light bar at the front resembling the recently launched Nexon and Harrier facelifts. Towards the side, not much has changed except the new aero-style wheel design. At the rear as well, Tata has chosen to change much and the only major changes seem to be a new faux skid plate and badging.

Tata Punch.ev: Interior & Features

Inside the Punch.ev, the changes are a lot more significant. There is a revised dashboard along with a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo. You also have new a 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto. Along with this, there is also a 10.2 inch digital cockpit instrument cluster.

Other additions in terms of equipment include an auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charger, auto headlamps and wipers, ventilated front seats, mood lighting etc. It also gets an innovate “frunk” under the bonnet. In terms of safety, the Punch.ev packs in 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, Isofix seat mounts, roll-over mitigation etc. Along with these you also get an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 360 degree camera, blind-spot monitoring and emergency SOS calling as well.

Tata Punch.ev: Powertrain

Under the hood, the Punch.ev gets an option of two battery packs. The standard range gets a 25kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 315Km. The motor on this rated for 80HP and 114NM.

On the other hand, the Long Range(LR) versions get a larger 35kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 421Km. This version also gets a more powerful motor making 120HP and 190NM of torque. Tata also claims that the LR versions get 50kW fast charging capability and an optional 7.2KW home charger bundled with the car. Tata claims a top speed of 140Kmph. An 8 year/1,60,000km warranty is being offered as standard for the powertrain.

Tata Punch.ev: Variants & Pricing

Tata is offering the Punch.ev in 5 variants- Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+. The price list is attached below.

There are five colour options- Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Seaweed and Empowered Oxide. The 7.2kW charger is available at a premium of Rs. 50,000 for the LR versions while the sunroof can also be had Adventure variant onwards also for an extra RS. 50,000.

The Tata Punch.ev rivals other small EVs such as the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet among others.

Tata Motors has revealed the mid-life facelifts of their flagship SUVs- the Harrier and Safari. Both cars now get heavily reworked styling, new interiors and a host of feature upgrades. They get powered by the same diesel engine as before. Notably, this is the second facelift for the Harrier since it was launched in 2020.

Tata Harrier Exterior & Design

Starting off with the Harrier, the styling follows Tata’s latest design philosophy which we saw earlier with the Nexon facelift. At the front is a new, more aggressive bumper with the headlights now places further apart in a triangular insert with a vertical arrangement. The lower air dam is also larger. The grille has also grown broader and features a new pattern. Towards the side, there are again minimal changes mostly restricted to the new pattern for the larger 19 inch alloy wheels. Finally, the DRLs now get connected with an LED light bar.

Towards the rear, you now have new LED taillights with a connected light bar. The tailgate has been slightly reworked while the rear bumper is all new and now features a vertical surround for the reflectors and reverse lights. There is now a larger skid plate too. They are offering six standard colour options- Ash Grey, Lunar White, Coral Red, Pebble Grey and the new Seaweed Green and Sunlit Yellow.

Tata Harrier Interior & Features

Tata has ditched the older dashboard for an all-new look inside the Harrier. The new dashboard is a lot sleeker and the wooden trim has been replaces with leather inserts. The AC vents are now sleeker while the centre console is a lot more cleaner owing to the new electronic parking brake. The AT variants also get a stubbier gear shifter. Another major change is the new steering wheel which now gets knurled scrollers and an illuminated Tata logo. The other major change is the new massive 12.3 inch touchscreen which is now a free-standing unit. There is also a new fully digital instrument cluster.

The equipment list is also much longer now with additions such as a 10 speaker music system, dual-zone climate control, Welcome and good-bye animation for DRLs, rear sunshades, 45W USB charger, rear sunshades and more. In terms of safety, it now gets 7 airbags as an addition over the outgoing car’s 6 with the introduction of a knee airbag. There is also the updated ADAS which offers more functions such as adaptive cruise control owing to the new electric power steering unit.

Tata Harrier Powertrain & Variants

Under the hood, the Harrier facelift remains unchanged with a 2.0L diesel engine sourced from Fiat making 170HP and 350NM. The engine can be had with either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed Hyundai-sourced torque converter automatic transmission. A petrol and an electric version of the Harrier is in the works but not expected to launch in the near future.

Tata has revealed that the Harrier will be offered in four variants- Smart, Pure, Adventure and Fearless. However, sub-variants with optional packages might be announced at launch. The Adventure trim which is the second-from-top variant will get tan interiors unlike the rest of the range which gets black or grey interior colour schemes.

Tata Safari Exterior & Design

Coming to the Safari, it follows a similar design to the Harrier albeit this time around it has more unique elements. At the front, the grille is now slightly taller and broader than the Harrier. The grille inserts get a different pattern as does the skid plate. The headlamp surrounds here follow a less aggressive C-shaped design. At the side, the design for the 19 inch alloys is also distinct.

Towards the rear, you also have LED taillamps with a connected light bar along with a reprofiled tailgate. The bumper mimics the front one with a C shaped cavity housing the reflectors and reversing lights. The skid plate, just like the Harrier is also larger now.

Tata Safari Interior & Features

Inside as well, the Safari is similar to the Harrier in design and gets the same design elements. The only noticeable changes here is the use of white for the colour scheme and a different black trim for the dashboard. It does, however get a few more feature additions compared to the Harrier. These include 2nd row ventilated seats, multi-mood lights with drive modes sync, 360 camera and more. Like its smaller sibling, there is ADAS Level 2 functionality.

Tata Safari Variants & Colours

Like before, the Safari shares its mechanicals with the Harrier and gets powered by the same powertrain. Tata has announced four variants for the Safari- Smart, Pure, Adventure and Accomplished. 6 standard colours are being offered- Galactic Sapphire, Lunar Slate, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost and the new Cosmic Gold and Supernova Copper.

Tata Harrier, Safari Dark Editions

At the launch, Tata Motors also announced that the Harrier and Safari facelifts will continue to be offered as Dark Editions. The Dark Edition cars, as before, will feature completely blacked out exteriors and interiors and will come finished in an Obsidian Black paint shade for the exteriors. We can also expect more special editions as time passes with more colour and trim options. The Dark Edition variants will be priced at a premium compared to the regular colour options for the SUVs.

The Tata Harrier and Safari will compete with rivals such as the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar among others. Both the SUVs are expected to launch by the end of November 2023 with deliveries beginning soon after. Bookings are open for both for a sum of Rs. 25,000 via Tata dealerships.

Tata Motors has launched the facelifted Nexon EV at a price of Rs. 14.74 Lakhs. It gets many revisions including new styling, interiors and a lot of features among others. It is available with a choice of two battery packs and a new motor.

Tata Nexon EV facelift Styling

The Nexon EV facelift gets major updates outside. Inspired by the CURVV concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, it gets similar styling to the ICE-powered Nexon facelift. However, just like previous versions, it gets a few changes. These changes include a new bumper, a full-width DRL which also shows charging status. The faux grille on the fossil fuel versions also make way for a body coloured panel in the front. Towards the side and rear, it remains identical to the ICE version with 16 inch wheels and Y shaped trapezoid taillamps. The only difference towards the rear being the “Nexon.ev” badge centrally mounted on the tailgate.

Tata Nexon EV facelift Interior & Features

Inside, the story is similar as well and the dashboard is shared with the petrol and diesel powered Nexon. It gets a new design along with a sleek new steering wheel. The rotary shifter has also been changed to a new electronic gear shifter. Tata says the highlight of the interior is the new 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment system which gets a host of equipment such as OTA updates, 4 voice assistants, navigation, 9 speaker JBL system and a new Arcade.ev app which can stream OTT content among others. The instrument cluster also gets replaces to a now 10.1 inch fully digital screen with navigation display. Other features include Auto Dimming IRVM, rain sensing wipers, air purifier, wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, ventilated seats, connected car technology and more.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ESP, 360 degree camera, front parking sensors, Hill Hold Control, Electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, all-disc brakes and more.

Tata Nexon EV facelift Powertrain

Like before, the Nexon EV facelift is being offered with a choice of two battery packs- Medium Range(MR) and Long Range(MR). The former gets a 30kWh battery with an ARAI-claimed range of 325Kms. The latter on the other hand gets a larger 40.5kWh battery with a 425Km range. Top speed for both versions is capped at 120Kmph and 150Kmph respectively.

As for the power figures, the MR produces 129HP while the LR makes 145HP. Interestingly, both the versions make an identical 215NM of torque. Tata also claims that the new motor is lighter by 20Kg compared to the outgoing one. The LR version makes the 0-100Kmph sprint in 8.9s.

Further, there are three drive modes along with selectable 4 step regen which can be controlled through paddleshifters. Talking of charging, both versions now get a 7.2kW AC fast charger as standard along with V2V(Vehicle to Vehicle) and V2L(Vehicle To Load) capabilities which can charge other electrical appliances as well as EVs if needed.

Tata Nexon EV facelift Variants & Price

The MR versions of the Nexon EV facelift are available in five variants- Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+S and Empowered. The LR is available in four variants- Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+S and Empowered+. The detailed pricelist is given below.

Tata Motors has launched the Punch iCNG at a price of Rs. 7.09 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Along with it, Tata has also updated the Tiago and Tigor iCNG variants with it’s twin cylinder technology resulting in a better boot space as well. The Punch iCNG is based on Tata’s latest ALFA architecture while the Tiago and Tigor get based on the older X0 platform.

Tata Punch iCNG: New changes

Under the hood, the Punch iCNG gets powered by the same 1.2L Revotron engine as found in the regular variants. While running on petrol, this engine produces 84HP and 113NM of torque. However, while running on CNG the power output drops to 72HP and 103NM. Tata will be offering this fuel option only with the 5 speed MT.

The CNG system gets many extra functions such as direct CNG start, single ECU and twin cylinder technology which makes use of two cylinders instead of one to free up boot space. Tata claims a boot space of 210L.

Talking of feature updates, the Punch now gets a voice-assisted electric sunroof, front seat armrest, USB C-Type chargers and a shark-fin antenna as new additions. It continues to be offered with features such as LED pr0jector headlamps, 16 inch diamond cut alloys, rain sensing wipers, height adjustable seat, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment etc.

Tata Punch iCNG Price

Tata has launched the iCNG version of the Punch in 5 trims, however it is not being offered in the top Creative variant. The detailed price list is attached below. It will rival the Hyundai Exter CNG.

Tata Tiago & Tigor iCNG Updated

Along with the launch of Punch iCNG, Tata has updated the Tiago and Tigor iCNG with twin- cylinder technology. While no other major changes have been made, the boot space gets increased from the 80L and 205L figures on the current versions. This update also brings with it a price hike of Rs. 5,000(Ex-showroom) for both the models with the Tiago iCNG price ranging from Rs. 6.54-8.09 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The Tigor iCNG on the other hand can be had for a price range of Rs. 7.79-8.94 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Under the hood, they remain unchanged and receive the same 1.2L petrol engine like the Punch. The Tiago iCNG rivals other hatchbacks such as the Maruti Swift CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG while the Tigor iCNG has its rivals in the form of the Maruti Dzire CNG and Hyundai Aura CNG among others.

Hyundai has launched their latest offering, the Exter at a price of Rs. 5.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The car gets powered by the same 1.2L Kappa petrol engine along with a CNG bi-fuel option. The car will be Hyundai’s entry-level SUV in India sitting below the Venue and Creta.

Hyundai Exter Design & Dimensions

The Exter becomes the latest Hyundai to follow Hyundai’s “parametric” design language. At the front, the car gets a large grille with an “Exter” monogram above it. The headlights, just like other Hyundai SUVs are mounted lower down in the bumper while the DRLs mounted at the top feature an “H-type” signature look. Towards the side we can see the Exter gets a very upright profile with large windows and a prominent kink on the C Pillar. At the rear, it features large hexagonal taillights with a faux silver skid plate and a textured element linking the taillights.

Talking of dimensions, the Exter measures 3815mm X 1710mm in the length and width respectively. This makes the Exter quite compact. The ground clearance is rated at 185mm.

Hyundai Exter Powertrain

Hyundai is sticking to the tried-and-tested powertrain for the Exter. It gets powered by the familiar 1.2L Kappa petrol engine with a 5 speed manual or 5 speed AMT transmission with paddleshifters. This engine produces a similar 83HP and 114NM torque which is identical to their other entry-level offerings. The Exter gets a 37L fuel tank capacity.

Along with the Petrol, Hyundai is offering a Bi-fuel CNG option as well. This will be available only with a 5 speed MT and makes 69HP and 95NM when running on CNG. Hyundai claims an impressive fuel economy of 27.10 Kmpl for the CNG powertrain.

Hyundai Exter Interior & Features

Inside, it shares the design with the Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Talking of features, it comes loaded with equipment such as a sunroof, dual-dashcam, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, cruise control, connected car technology, projector headlamps, 8 inch touchscreen and a lot more. Talking of safety, Hyundai is giving 6 airbags as standard on the Exter. Other safety features include ESC, Hill Start Assist, highline TPMS, rear parking camera and more.

Unique touches include an all-black interior theme along with a new textured insert on the passenger side of the dashboard.

Hyundai Exter Variants & Pricing

The Exter is offered in 5 major variants- EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect. AMT transmission is optional on all variants barring the base EX trim. The CNG bi-fuel option is also available in the two middle variants- S and SX. Pricing starts from Rs. 5.99 Lakhs for the EX MT variant going all the way upto Rs. 9.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom) for the top-end SX(O)Connect AMT variant.

6 colours are offered- Starry Night, Fiery Red, Titan Grey, Atlas White, Ranger Khaki and Cosmic Blue with the latter three also offered in a dual-tone scheme with black roof. It rivals other subcompact SUVs such as the Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3 and Tata Punch among others.

Maruti has launched the Invicto MPV at a price of Rs. 24.79 Lakhs (Ex-showoroom). The MPV is a badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross and shares its underpinnings with the same. It is also the priciest Maruti to ever go on sale in India and will be sold through their premium NEXA chain of dealerships.

Maruti Invicto Design

The Maruti Invicto shares most of its styling with the Innova Hycross, although Maruti has made some changes to differentiate it. Starting from the front, the Invicto gets a new grille with dual horizontal chrome slats encasing a Suzuki logo. Moreover, Maruti has given it a new bumper as well which takes help of a faux skid plate and black cladding to make it look aggressive. From the pictures, it also seems like Maruti has given the fog lamps a miss unlike the Hycross. Moving on towards the side profile, there have been no notable changes except the new design for the 17 inch alloy wheels and the absence of a hybrid badge under the ORVMs

At the rear too, changes have been minimal. The taillights on the Invicto get new detailing inside with 3 blocks to bring it in line with other NEXA models. It also gets new badges. Besides these, the Invicto remains identical to the Hycross from a styling perspective.

Maruti Invicto Features & Interior

Inside, the similarity with the Hycross continues and the design looks identical. However, the Invicto gets a different all-black interior theme with champagne gold trim. Maruti is offering the Invicto with 7 & 8 seater layouts with a boot space of 239 litres. If the third row is folded down, the boot capacity gets expanded to 690L just like the Hycross.

In terms of features, the Invicto gets a 10.1 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, 360 camera, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, dual-zone AC, 8-way powered drivers seat and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, ESP, 3 point seatbelts for all passengers, electronic parking brake and stability control among others. Notably, the Invicto skimps out on ADAS, Ottoman seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, 9-speaker JBL audio and an adjustable armrest among others.

Maruti Invicto Powertrain

Under the hood, the Invicto gets a strong-hybrid powertrain with 2.0L naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to a battery pack. Power is sent to the front wheels through an eCVT gearbox. This combination produces a total figure of  184HP and 206NM. Maruti claims a 0-100 time of 9.5 seconds and a fuel efficiency of 23.24Kmpl. The car can also be driven on pure EV mode for short distances. Unlike the Hycross however, Maruti is not offering a petrol-only engine.

Maruti Invicto Price & Rivals

Maruti has brought the Invicto in two variants- Zeta+ and Alpha+ priced at Rs. 24.79 Lakhs and Rs. 28.42 Lakhs(Ex-showroom) respectively. The Zeta+ variant also gets an optional 8 seater layout for a premium of Rs. 5,000. Maruti is also offering the Invicto under a subscription service starting from Rs. 61,800 per month.

The Invicto is available in 4 colours- NEXA Blue, Mystic White, Majestic Silver and Stellar Bronze. Talking of rivals, it will go up against it’s sister car, the Toyota Innova Hycross as well as other SUVs such as the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari among others. It can booked through the Nexa chain of dealerships or through Nexa’s official website.
