Tata launches Nexon, Nexon.ev facelift #DARK edition

The #DARK editions bring cosmetic changes to the Nexon as before

Tata Motors has launched the #DARK editions for the facelifted Nexon and Nexon.ev. Priced from Rs.11.45 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), it brings a completely blacked out theme to the exteriors and interiors.

Tata Nexon #DARK edition; what’s changed

For the Nexon #DARK editions, tata has given the car a fully blacked out treatment outside. The car comes finished in an obsidian black paint shade with black alloys. The badges at the rear also come finished in a black colour. Inside, the car also gets an all-black theme with dual-tone black and blue leatherette upholstery and #DARK embroidered on the seats.

The feature list will be same as the variant it is based on, with the top variant getting features such as wireless smartphone charger, a “hidden”  capacitive touch panel for the climate controls, Amazon Alexa and more. The #DARK edition on the Nexon is priced at Rs. 35,000 over the corresponding regular variants and starts at a price of Rs. 11.45 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Under the hood, it will be available with all powertrain options and remains mechanically unchanged to the standard variants. The Nexon competes with other compact crossovers such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Nissan Magnite.

Just like the petrol and diesel-powered Nexon, the Nexon.ev also gets similar treatment. On the outside, it also comes finished in an Obsidian black paint with blacked out alloys and badging making for a fully-blacked out look. Inside, it too gets two-tone leatherette seats with a black theme elsewhere. Tata is offering features such as SOS calling, Embedded Maps view in the digital cockpit and a blind-spot monitoring system as a part of the safety suite.

Also on offer are features such as a 9 speaker JBL music system, a 12.3 inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Arcade.ev app suite with 15+ apps. Under the hood, it is based on the Empowered+ LR variant which means it gets the larger 40.5kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 465Kms. The motor is rated at 145HP and 215NM while Tata also provides paddleshifters to control regen levels. The Nexon.ev also sports vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load technology which can be used to charge other EVs or electrical appliances. The Nexon.ev #DARK edition is based on the top-spec Empowered+ LR variant and is available at a premium of Rs. 10,000 over the standard variant at Rs. 19.29L(Ex-showroom).
