The new Tata Punch facelift is set to launch in India on January 13, 2026. This marks the first major update for the Tata Punch since its debut in 2021. Tata Motors recently teased the Punch facelift on its official Instagram handle and YouTube page, offering a visual preview without revealing specification details, and this article is based on expected updates derived from the content released so far.
The facelift focuses on visual refreshes that make the vehicle look more modern while retaining its compact SUV stance. The Punch facelift follows Tata Motors’ latest design direction, which is already seen on several of its newer models.
Tata Punch facelift – Expected Exterior Updates
At the front, the Punch facelift gets a revised grille that appears wider and cleaner than before. The headlamp setup has been updated with a more modern LED layout, something very similar to what we see on the Tata Punch EV. The front bumper has also been redesigned and now features stronger cladding and silver accents that enhance the SUV character.

From the side, the overall shape of the Punch remains familiar, new 16 inch alloy wheels are expected to debut on the Punch. Tata Motors has also introduced a refreshed colour palette for the facelifted model. The new shades include Cyantific, Caramel, Coorg Clouds, and Bengal Rouge Red, the latter being shared with the newly launched Tata Sierra. Other colour options include Daytona Grey and Pristine White. These colours help the facelifted model look more contemporary while offering buyers a wider range of choices.
At the rear, the Punch features connected LED tail lamps housed within a darkened panel. The rear bumper also appears to be subtly revised.
Tata Punch facelift – Expected Interior Updates
Inside the cabin, the facelift introduces several improvements aimed at enhancing comfort and usability. While the basic dashboard layout remains unchanged, Tata Motors has added new elements to make the cabin feel more modern.

The Punch facelift features a new two spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo as seen on the Altroz and Punch EV. Higher variants are expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity. A fully digital instrument cluster is also likely to be offered on select trims, replacing the older semi digital setup.

Cabin materials and upholstery are expected to be updated, giving the Punch facelift a cleaner and more premium feel. Touch based climate controls are expected, along with added convenience features such as push button start, cruise control, and rear AC vents on higher variants.
Safety also sees an upgrade in the Punch facelift. All variants are expected to offer six airbags, Select variants are also expected to offer a 360 degree camera, wireless charging and rear AC vents.
Tata Punch facelift – Expected Powertrain Updates
The Punch facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 87 hp and 115 Nm of torque. This engine will likely be offered with a manual gearbox and an automated manual transmission. A CNG option is also expected to remain available for buyers looking for lower running costs.
The biggest update for the Punch is the expected introduction of a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine. This engine is likely to deliver higher power and torque compared to the standard petrol unit. It is expected to be paired with a six speed manual gearbox.
This new turbo petrol option will make the facelift more suitable for highway use and buyers who want better performance. It also helps Tata Motors position the Punch as a more versatile option within the compact SUV segment.
Tata Punch facelift – Expected Price and Rivals
The current Punch is priced between 5.50 lakhs and 9.24 lakhs ex-showroom , with prices increasing depending on the variant and engine choice. Revised prices for the facelift are expected to be announced at the launch tomorrow.
