Volkswagen India has launched the all new Tayron R-Line in India at a price of Rs 46.99 lakh ex showroom. The SUV will be brought to India as a completely knocked down unit (CKD) and will be assembled at Volkswagen’s Chatrapathi Sambhajinagar facility (Aurangabad). Unlike its five seater counterpart, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line which is imported as a completely built unit (CBU) from Europe, the Tayron R-Line will be locally assembled. The Tayron now becomes Volkswagen’s flagship offering in India and enters the premium seven seat SUV segment where it will rival the Toyota Fortuner and the Skoda Kodiaq.
Volkswagen begins its India innings for 2026 with this launch. The company has committed to introduce four new models this year, with the launch of the Tayron forming an important part of that planned lineup.
